mike & mike this morning. i'll paraphrase:
"this whole thing is stupid (latest t.o. controversy). it's just like allen iverson said, 'what are we talking about? practice. we're talking about practice, man'. c'mon. this is all stupid. we're talking about a guy who has 10, 12 years worth of film. you know what he can do on the field. he instantly makes your team better. bill parcells needs t.o. more than t.o. needs parcells... when's the last time parcells won? tell me, when?"
his interviewed will make the rounds for the next 2 days or so. watch. 8/18/2006 9:33:44 AM |

ok i dont understand
have TO and parcells even had a battle yet? people keep talking about to is hurting the cowboys by missing practice, hasnt he been hurt??? has parcells ever publicly criticized him for being hurt?
i thought i had been paying attn, but if there was some real controversy, could someone point it out?
and sure TO will help dallas, but dallas will help TO too. Not many contenders would roll the dice on him at this point. if to wants to win, he has to go where he can. 8/18/2006 10:46:01 AM |

pretty much but not completely.
Parcells went from a calm guy who talks about football to sounding all defensive like Chuck does in interviews. You can tell Parcells is on the edge, and as a Skins fan, I am loving it. He also sounded like Iverson last night with the practice speech...haha8/18/2006 10:50:18 AM |

TO is starting to hurt the cowboys.
parcells knows he cant come down on TO like he does his other players because TO make it into a huge deal. parcells hates players who won't play injured and hates it when they don't practice. the other players are starting to lose respect for his policies on practicing when they see TO not playing, and doing shit like wearing biking gear for the bikes on the sidelines.
nothing major, but it's still there. he can start playing hard now and everyone will forget about it, or he can do in dallas what he did in philly. i guess we'll see. 8/18/2006 10:55:05 AM |

parcells hasn't said anything negative about TO, but he is referring to him as "the player".
he's playin it smart by not giving the media much to work with. i think the fact that he calls TO "the player" says enough in my opinion. 8/18/2006 10:57:04 AM |

i don't think t.o. needs the nfl anymore. he's got plenty of money now. if he invests that properly, he should be fine. on top of that, he'll get money from his endorsements, books, etc.
and despite what you may think, t.o. is actually a great thing for the nfl. the enterainment district thrives off controversial figures.

the way i see it, TO needs more then just money. he craves attention, and right now, the NFL is the only outlet that gives him that. the nfl was fine before TO, and will continue to be fine after TO. there will always be superstars to come in and have everyone forget about him...and there are plenty of other controversies that happen without TO.
the nfl isnt completely dependent on star power like the nba is.

^^^ how many times are you going to keep trying to compare a wide receiver to a head coach in terms of "w-l"? no one associates "w-l" to anyone aside from head coaches, and sometimes quarterbacks.

ok here are what i believe are each of the qb's 2 best seasons and their passing/rushing stats. just look at the 4 sets and tell me which ones look better.
also, in 1997, kordell had 1 pro bowl WR in yancy thigpen. in 2001, ward made the pro bowl. so yes, 2 pro bowl receivers, 2 seperate seasons. also don't forget that kordell himself made the pro bowl in 2001.
hell, even if you pick out vick's 2 seasons as being the best two, by either looking up his stats and matching them or genuinely thinking they are better, the fact remains that he is comparable to kordell stewart. that in itself is enough proof that vick is not the god among men that so many people make him out to be.

well i only did it once and it was in response to Turnip bringing up Parcells' record w/o Belichek
but i will continuously argue against TO's "heroic Superbowl performance"
cause he didnt score, he didnt help them win a single playoff game, and to me part (not solely) but part of the reason he came back was to be looked at as heroic so he could get a bigger contract...and look what happened the next season...he got pissed they wouldnt give him a contract...and obviously the rest is history as Philly fans view him the same as 49ers fans...except he didnt call McNabb a fag]8/18/2006 2:08:52 PM |
