My boyfriend got mad at me for buying him more TP and paper towels than he could use before he moves to NC. He didn't complain any more after I told him I paid less for all of it than he would have if he'd gone out and bought a 6 pack of Charmin the next week. He can use what ever's left to pack stuff with and TP the landlord's house for all I care.

I don't know how to tell you to quit buying cheap stuff. I'm sure one day I'll get tired of it and not buy any more for a couple years before I need some again, but that day has not come yet.

It does make me feel a little wasteful sometimes. Seems like the dove deodorant is for girly girls who never do anything, so I bought some soft and dri and women's mitchum to see if they work better. At 25 cents a stick might as well. Don't find myself squeezing the toothpaste quite as hard to get it all out when there's 20 more tubes either. And shampoo, well I have 3 bottles open now I am rotating through because I don't like the Tresemme as much as the other stuff but I feel like I should use it instead of throwing it away.

I think after furnishing my apartment and only buying a headboard I'm pretty damn thrifty. Free chest of drawers, free night stand, free kitching table and chairs, free bedding and decor, free queen size bed, free desk. The headboard is brand new and originally costs over $300, I got it for $89.

I do need to work on my negotiation skills. I was able to get significantly more from Nationwide for my bike than their first offer, but I feel like I should have been able to do it more easily so that's what I'm gonna work on next.

And one of the best thrifty skills you can have is being able to do your own basic vehicle maintenance. Saves a lot of money (jiffy lube might be cheap, but considering the crap they are putting in if they even change it that's a horrible value) and you know it was done right.
