has anyone modded a PS3 slim? i can't find much info abt it on the internets. I dont really care about playing copied games since i buy all of my games for the 360, but i'd like something to mod. any recommendations?

I have put modchips in several different consoles (wii, ps1, xbox1), but would like to softmod the PS3 slim if possible.

Does anyone have any tuts?

And to the OP, last I heard the only mod involved hitting small parts of a circuitboard with electricity during a very specific time of the boot process in order to short out some check and allow low level access. Not exactly easy stuff. And not exactly anything that gets you anything useful either.

I don't really follow the PS3 scene, but I'm pretty sure that's because it doesn't really exist in any real fashion. If anything out there exists, it hasn't made it to the big news sites, I know that.

Didn't geohot release a modded firmware that still allows Linux installs on the ps3? Was that only for the older hardware models?

If you can put Linux on it, what's the point of hard mods?

^only for fat-bodies (i think), and if I'm not mistaken only for the fat-bodies with the PS2 hardware chip.

^^He released a video, but not the actual firmware. And the point of further development would be to allow full access to the console. Even before the OtherOS ability was removed it was still limited to using half the available RAM and had extremely limited access to the GPU.

Nevermind the fact that everyone knows the real main point of modding a console is piracy.
