graphics are noticeably better, even on my rear projection tv, though its still the same game console as last year's version but they stepped that up, and the fluidity and quickness of the gameplay is very nice...new tackling system that seems more realistic, and more effective defensive play...they have videos included in the demo of the upgrades from the past year and that can explain things better than i can

Dynasty Mode has more customizable options, Road to Glory mode looks great, you can customize your team/schedule and play your entire senior year in high school, including playing on both sides of the ball, I'm looking forward to the improvements there

Played as Texas and lost to Oregon 7-0, when the Longhorns came out on the field Bevo stood up and one of the videos shows Chief Osceola coming out for FSU so I'm about to see if I can beat the Tide

gameplay improvements are nice though, just more realistic

I'm whooping Bama 22-3 in the 3rd, their QB looks like Delhomme (as far as graphics of the player's face as well as throwing picks and not doing great)

So far through one game I've had ~50% of passes dropped.

Seems like more of the same glitchy garbage to me.

And if UT's o-line is this good irl then they'll never need to throw.

one of the pregame tips said you need to release the Left Stick before you release the pass button so you don't over-lead your receivers...I figured it out by my 2nd game, although the zone coverage is still pretty good

Like:
Feels faster/smoother than last year.

QB scrambling and open field running seem better (still takes a second to get up to speed but after that you don't get chased down by DTs and slower defenders any more).

Momentum tackling means a good back will fall forward a lot, but also on D if you can wing a guy he'll get "stunned" or slowed and you can get him with your next guy better instead of him just running away.

Indifferent:

Punting trajectories seem slightly different.

Seems like its harder to get around the corner as an end (probably more realistic.)

Dislike:

Still hate the new play calling screen, give me the old style with 4 plays and easier package switching.

Still feels like it takes a half second longer to get the ball away on a pass. I know they want you to make your QB get his feet set and scan the field but on a play action, rollout or screen I want a little quicker action on what should be a short close quick throw.

Not sure if I'll pick this one up

I've bought the odd year ever year from 03 on (plus '10) and I still think '11 is probably the most playable version yet. They'll probably fuck that up this year. I loaded up my '11 dynasty a few weeks ago and I'm in 2023, might just keep on keeping on there.

90% of the issue was having to physically log on to the Xbox to advance the weeks

If you can do that now via any computer, it should run seamlessly, as most of us are on computers most of the day

Pretty sure they can't legally fix it, since then they'd be directly acknowledging that they're modeling the game after real players, rather than just the coincidence that we happen to have a short black guy playing the same position and wearing the same number.
