Anyone else check this out? ABC tends to have really good drama/thriller shows before they try to milk em so I tuned in. I liked it, though I thought it was a bit too family oriented and could have been a bit more dark/violent. The kid's acting was pretty shitty, but reminiscent of Sebastian from never ending story.

there has been some discussion in the fall 2011 tv thread. i'm not saying move the discussion there, but you can see what some people have thought about it.

i'm not really a fan of jennifer morrison so i'm not sure if i will watch this or not.

Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin is kind of genius casting, but the 15 minutes I saw of this last night did nothing for me.

I wanted to watch this, but forgot last night and missed it. Hopefully the episode will be somewhere online, so I can catch up and see if it's worth tuning in next week. I thought the premise sounded pretty intriguing.

It has potential, but not long-term potential. I could see it being episodic for a season, but there's a built in arc and if they drag their feet on it for too long it'll get annoying.

Plus, I'm not a big fan of the lead actress (although you can never judge from the first episode). The kid was enjoyable but they're going to have to keep him quiet and not let "the kid who knows what's going on" dominate episodes.

And Robert Carlyle is one of the best around right now at playing intelligent and cunning assholes. I look forward to seeing him shine. :-)

And I'll also join the new favorite show train

I just saw a commercial for NBC's Grimm, also a fairy tale-ish show. it's made by the same people that did buffy (omg luff) and seems to be a creepier show than this one. I"ll prob check that out too if it's online (it is premiering friday and hello I have halloween parties to go to)

Pleasantly surprised. I was afraid it'd be a lot more like that "Happy Town" ABC put out last year. Interested to see where this could go, especially if it survives its first season.

Also LoL at Bra'tac as Gepetto

(Sorry DDK, I think I mentally blocked that parentheses )

I liked it

Only part that bothered me was "The Curse" being a cloud of smoke coming in and the fat guy from Pirates of the Caribbean subsequently freaking out.

I thought it was ver nice od the Evil QueenWitch to make the curse obviously visual so anyone tryi g to thwart her would know how much time they had left.

Darn sporting of her, really.

so on xbox live you can watch a 25min clip of the pilot for grimm. the show suffers from the same shit that the cape did, but it's a much better show and probably tolerable. definitely way darker than once upon a time.

Just watched the pilot last night and kinda liked it. I was really loving the casting choices. As previously stated I think that Robert Carlyle is a great Rumplestiltskin. I also got a laugh out of Master Brea'tac as Geppeto. I just finished Big Love last week, so it was kinda interesting to see Margene with her short hair look, though I think she looks better with longer hair. I did not care for her hair as Snow White. Also love Pirates and House, so all in all it was a very interesting casting group and we will definitely watch again.

Just watched it last night. The "current" scenes are good...the scenes from the fairy tales make me cringe with the acting and over-dramatizing...but I guess that's on purpose. Got me interested enough to keep watching and see how it turns out.

Wife and I just got around to watching the pilot. We liked it and will continue watching.
I've already given up on terra nova and person of interest, so it is nice to have a show that actually seems interesting.

I loved the "LOST" reference when Emma woke up in jail and they zoomed in on her eye opening...

I'm guessing the evil witch and rumpel know what is going on in the "current" world....and I'm guessing since Emma is now staying in storybrooke, that's why the clock started ticking?

apparently there are a bunch of lost easter eggs in this show (according to the fb page for lost). the time on a clock was 815, mayor's house number 108...idk the others. the fb page said to keep an eye out.

so does the evil queen know she is the evil queen or what? I thought she did, but then when she was talking to rumpel at the end, it made it seem like he knows everything but she doesn't

IMO, the show continues to deliver. I hope it continues to receive high ratings and they keep it for at least a few seasons or so.

The recap at the beginning of the episode kind of put it out there that the evil queen knows what is going on.... plus the episode pretty much confirmed it when the doctor called the "mayor" to let her know about the man in the coma moving...

I didn't think this episode opened as many questions as the last one...it pretty much answered a lot.

Watched the last two episodes last night and I'm not as impressed anymore. But the gf likes it, so we'll keep watching. It has slowed down a bit and the "fairytale" scenes are just so damn cheesy that it's a little tough to get through.

came in to write basically the exact same thing. I imagine the routine getting old ... "we're about to do something great, drat its the queen" or "I would have gotten away with my wicked plan if it weren't for snow and that meddling emma stone!"

its something that if it were to come on at 4PM on a sunday, i'd happily watch it all the time.

Actually...I think I'll start DVR'ing and watching it on Sundays at 4PM. Problem solved.

Has this show gotten any better? I stopped after the first couple episodes. And I think Grimm is much better. The acting isn't great in either show, but Grimm is at least a tad suspenseful.

I really liked last night's episode. I thought it moved the show along fairly well, and really let us know how "informed" the Queen/mayor is.

I watched the last episode online and couldn't tell...what did she drop down the shaft at the end? Looked like a piece of glass or something (magic mirror?)

It was a piece of glass. Probably a part of Snow White's coffin that had surfaced.

I also thought it was the mirror at first, but we know the mirror is the annoying newshound guy.

I'm 1-2 episodes behind on this show. It's coming across as too family friendly and cheesy to me so I don't know if I will keep watching.

Also I can't stand the boy hair on Snow White

I was stunned that Disney allowed them to give Jiminy Cricket the backstory that they've given him. That's actually darker than anything I expected from the show.

Granted I didn't expect much because it is ABC/Disney and eventually they're going to wanna be able to rerun this on ABC Family, but still it was a nice surprise.

And yeah, I normally like pixie cuts but it's just kinda eh on Ginnifer Goodwin.

/Also, Ginnifer? With a G? Really?

snow white's coffin? Was that snow white in the pilot in the coffin that prince charming woke up?

I thought that was sleeping beauty?

If it was snow white, that must have been after he met her in the woods, right?
