its a cooperative effort between alliance and horde with turn ins and quests to open the gates. It will take a decent bit of time to open them on even the most populated/active servers

^Just because we ignore the hoof chick in pictures where she's pretending to play WoW doesn't mean we're as much of nerds as you think we are.

In fact, the more nerdy, loser people would be the ones who freak out over a camwhore like that, like you did.

it was a pretty big turn-off

no, the system as it will be implemented will allow you to be in multiple queues at once... but as far as i can tell, once you get into one of the BGs, you are removed from ALL of the queues... so you lose your spot... i'm saying i want them to make it so i can sit in the AV queue and play all the AB or WSG matches i like while i wait for people to queue up for AV...

what i meant was that i hope that they will ONE DAY make it so i can do this.

you would leave one to go to another, that wont be possible with the new deserter debuff.

if you AFK out of a battle ground early you will get a 15min debuff where you cant in any way rejoin a BG queue for that 15 min.

one of the CMs said that you couldn't rejion the queue for the one you left for 15 minutes. You can still pussy out and switch to a different line.

39,000 honor today in AV, not bad. won 3, lost 4 or so. close to 900HK on the night, nt being in the main raid most the time. not bad for my first real AV run.

ive done it a handful of other times, just not multiple times in a row. went from less than half of friendly to just slightly less than half into honored in one night. im going for exalted for the mace, shield, and mound. and hopefully blood guard and posibly legionaire on the way for some nice blue gear

OK, this question is for those of you who have been in a fair number of pickup raids. Have you ever known a raid leader to insist that ALL blue items (either BOE and BOE) are NOT rolled for at all when the need/greed dialogue appears, but instead want to roll on them after the entire raid is over? I was in a raid yesterday where the leader and one of his buddies were doing it this way, and I've never heard of something like this. What's the point or advantage to doing it this way? I've always seen it done such that all blue BOP's are passed on and then sharded if no one wants, but blue BOE's are taken by the leader and held for lottery.

I ask this because I saw a BOP item I really wanted, clearly announced that I wanted to roll need and asked if there were any objections, waited for about 15 seconds, and then rolled. When I did, the 2 people doing things the way mentioned above got PISSED. And so I asked them why they didn't object. They didn't have an answer other than to say that's how they were doing it. What struck me as weird about this was that they wanted us to leave EVERYTHING behind - even things like a pristine black diamond. I just fail to see why the need/greed roll system wouldn't be used immediately if something came up which was worth rolling on. I mean, why take the chance of leaving something behind where pops could be waiting for when you go back to get it? That's just stupid. The only thing I can figure is that perhaps these people either had a way to "fix" a /roll in their favor, or were planning to race back and snatch up some of the items left behind...? (i.e. Abomination's Stitches - 2 of which were left on the ground)

I've never heard of leaving everything on the bodies. Those things will decay whether they've been looted or not. Plus, the possibility of repops.
It just seems like a good way for someone to slip back and grab all the loot while no one notices.

^^^^

I had that happen once, luckily it was a small group basically had a 60 walking us through for a few items. I still can't figure out what the purpose of it would be though.

If someone tried to pull those loot rules on me I would ask for them to be changed and if they wouldn't then it would be time to leave the group and hearth.

the way we do the loot rules is...

all BOE items are greeded on by everyone, if someone needs a BOE item then they say so in chat and we let them roll need on it.

all BOP items are passed on by everyone in order to discuss what will happen to them, if multiple people need the item then only those people will /random on it with the winner taking it. if no one needs it, then the entire raid will /random on it and the winner will recieve the item from the disenchant.

any loot on a body that does not explicitly pop up a roll window is fair game for anyone. of course, agreements can be made in advance for the random itmes like runecloth or whatever else, if no one objects.

we never leave bodies unlooted, and when roll windows pop up, we take care of it right then and there.

looting is one of the major dilemmas of PUGs, fortunately genesis has a large enough number of level 60s (and more reaching that number every week) that we can do pretty much any raid (except the 40 man instances) on a moments notice.

so, for instance, a blue BOE item that is an upgrade for a specific class (maybe a teir 1 set piece) is rolled for by everyone equally?

The truly fascinating thing about this situation was that just as soon as the Baron was dead and I announced that I was going to roll on the sword, I DID see one of the guys who was complaining take off running out of the room. He got off of my CQ radar, but was definitely still in the instance. I have little doubt that something fishy was going on, and I believe the real reason they got pissed was because I rightfully used a need roll and won the sword before they could swindle it away. It's so strange how after I announced that I was rolling need and asked if there were any objections, no one objected and no one else rolled need either. Well, whatever. I have a clear conscience about it, and I wound up with a pretty good sword.

Well, in all the months I've been raiding, I've just never heard of anyone doing it this way. I guess maybe it didn't completely register in my mind what they wanted to do because it seemed so illogical.

That's precisely how I've been doing it with raids ever since I started raiding anything. I am also an enchanter and always volunteer to be the raid's designated DE shard carrier since I know I'm one of the only people in-game I can trust to not to screw anyone over.
