So Im about to hit 56 with my shaman and was wandering if I should straight grind out these next 4 levels picking a spot to kill mobs around my level, with some instance running thrown in, or run around trying to do the few quests in few zones for my level that dont involve an instance. I just cant find a good place that offers a good number of ~55 quests that I havent done already. Any suggestions?

sounds like a good level to start MC Attunement, or at least you should soon A few of the quests are kill X many mobs, with an instance or two thrown in. Will seem like its going quicker if you are accomplishing other things like that on your way

definatley do the epl/wpl quests along with winterspring and silithus. Some of the silithus stuff may be a bit much solo at your level but then again shamans wont take damage come 1.9.

You DEF dont want to grind the last 4 levels.

my take on the last 4 levels is this.

let your profession help determine where you go to grind/quest it out

for instance, alchemy/herbalism definately hit up the areas of EPL/WPL... then you have herbs for potions added into quests and mobs for your level. winterspring would be good for anyone that does skinning. just see what each zone has to offer besides what level the mobs are.

4 levels is a LOT of xp, it will take all of the quests in those areas + grinding to get it, so i would just roll from one to the next, making silithus your last stop.

56 is a good level to get some of the BRD stuff out of the way, the quest chains in the burning steppes that start the series for the onxyia key. also, the early quests in silithus around your level should be pretty easy. the ones where you have to kill scorpions and snakes.

^^The onyxia key chain starts with Warlord's Command, which you get in Kargath and require's 5manning LBRS. Prolly need to wait until 58 to start trying that.

it seems to me that once people hit 50, they put PvP on hold in the interest of getting to 60.

once oyu hit 60, PvP should be an easier thing to do for you.

sucks for pvp but it's fun being the MT

you're always the center of attention, makes you feel important n shit

I MT for 100% of my guild's encounters and I can still own some ass in PvP

you don't need to spec full protection

31 arms / 5 fury / 15 protection will do you just fine for tanking any mob in MC/Onyxia

I use a 31/1/19 build to attain last stand and improved shield block, last stand owns so much ass for tanking vael and is a lifesaver on some fights when a priest is out of LoS or you need a pot.

you will die in PvP, a lot... everyone does

if you let that bother you then you shouldnt do PvP to begin with.

as for being protection spec'ed you should be fine. find a caster on your team early on and stick with them. a lot of players will ignore you and go for the squishy caster, giving you a chance to get the kill. teaming up with a priest is good too, because they will keep you alive.

even better than a priest is to team up with a paladin. they can heal you quite effectively and they're a lot harder to kill than priests. on top of that, i've noticed that as a paladin as long as i hang back and just heal people i get ignored for the most part. i can usually count on one hand the number of times i'm attacked in any given warsong match.

Protection spec warriors are nearly impossible to kill for rogues. Prot spec is basically the ubar tank build for the warrior. You don't do nearly as much damage as a Arms/Fury warrior, but who the hell cares when you can tank 5 mobs all at once?

anyone build their rogue around sinister strike, cheapshot, and eviscerate.

and NOT ambush/backstab ? Some keep telling me to get the strongest slowest mace i can find and put it in my mainhand, then a nice sword in the other. cheapshot, then SS, gouge, and evisc for full 5 points.

i dunno, im only lvl 29 so not sure which way to go with the build or if im doing it right. i can deal 300 damage with evisc. and im all the time dealing non-crit 100's.



Also, im trying to find a 12hr rarespawn, and finally got around the last time he was killed. So I went to the spot to camp and the servers were down for maint. Now, is the new time to camp 12 hours from when the servers rebooted? And if so, does anyone know around the exact time they came up
