There are still a few sword rogues left after the 1.8 patch. I personally switched to daggers though. My krol blade was doing 600-800 SS crits before 1.8, not I'm lucky to see over 600. But I backstab with a Heartseeker mainhand 750-1300 (depending on armor).

Whether you are sword/dagger/mace your main hand should be the slowest weapon you can find. The point is to get a weapon with the highest damage range as possible.

Eviscerate is pretty much worthless at 60 though. It's mitigated by armor and doesn't change based on your gear or weapons so against anything other than cloth it's worthless.

i transferred my character to the test realms today and i went outside to see all the paladins dueling and try it a little bit myself, and i saw a paladin with full judgement wielding sulfaras. while it did look awesome i wasn't sure whether to congratulate the guy on getting it or hitting him for taking it from a warrior that could actually hurt people with it.

Re: playing alliance characters - I've leveled 4 horde characters up to 15-20. after about the second day of being in the barrens I start hating playing that character and on the third day I stop playing it. I managed to get an undead warlock over that hump up to 25 and I intend on leveling that character after I finish getting my hunter to 60 (friday). and there are just as many 10 year old forsaken running around as there are night elves, so dont even start with the "horde is more mature" shit

Re: playing on normal servers - I have no desire to gank/grief people. i have a strong aversion to being ganked/griefed. why the fuck would I pay to be infuriated at a regualr basis? I play the game to have fun. if I wanted to "pwn nubs" I'd play counter strike. and I wanted to grief someone, I'd play counter strike and start tk'ing people.

if you want to dual wield, then fury as your 31pter
if you want to tank then then protection as your 31pter
if you want to deal high damage with 2h weapons then arms with your 2h.

if you want to deal the most damage with your 2h period id say 31/20/0 (my favorite)

if you were looking for good 2h hits but good defense as well then maybe 31/5/15

Overall, I'd have to say that alliance is much better for PvE since pally buffs are easier to give than Shaman totem. Plus pallies are getting upped this patch to let them mass buff ppl.

NE hunters and NE rogues are both more prominent than undead rogues on my server.

pallies are tools. They have a great AOE for a melee class, they have their fagbubble, they can buff and cleanase like crazy, they can stun, wear plate, and they can still do decent damage.

YET.. wait! thast not enough they want more!!! they want to be able to hit as hard as a 30/20/0 warrior!

its retarded. if they wanted to hit that hard and wear plate, they should have rolled a warrior. yes there is a tree for damage but they KNEW when picking that class that it wasnt for damage. just like if you choose to be a mt for a pve guild you have to understand they might want you to spec prot and your pvp will suffer for a bit. oh well

^^My problem with pallies is that they have the "right" to roll on basically every weapon from the Unstoppable Force to Azuresong Mageblade.

And back to race/class . . . my server used to be 1.8 alliance/ 1.0 Horde. Even at that gap, there were 15% NE, 17% undead. And I know that doesn't say anything about rogues, but I swear that they are everywhere. I can't tell you how many times I enter an AB and 50% of the horde are undead rogues. Trust me, I notice since I am a warlock and have come hate Will of the Homosexual.
