Gotta love the dogs this week. I probably wouldn't take the Indy line ATS, but I'd tease Indy down to a pick with a 3-team teaser.

Seriously, think about this...

- A solid Carolina team that is playing the best they've played all year is getting three points at Chicago, against a shitty offense lead by an inexperienced quarterback. You know John Fox is gonna have a solid gameplan. I like the Panthers +3.

- The Patriots, yet another team playing the best they've played all season, is getting three points at Denver. Pretty much all their defensive players are back at full strength, with the exception of Rodney Harrison. Now, Denver is a tough place to play, but the Pats are the one team that isn't really affected by atmosphere. Jake Plummer has been a solid regular season quarterback, but if you're giving me three points and I've got a two-time Super Bowl MVP that has never lost in the playoffs playing against an unproven playoff QB, I'm taking the three points every fucking day of the week.

- The Redskins are nine point dogs at Seattle. That's a lot of points, especially when you look at Seattle's schedule. They love to blow leads and they've barely pulled out games against some shitty teams. Also, they lost at Washington early in the year, so Gibbs is familiar with the Seahawks. Seattle's defense is a bit soft, so the Skins should be able to move the ball and put up a respectable amount of points. Washington just has to do enough to shut down Shaun Alexander, easier said than done, but it has been done. The Redskins have gotten pretty lucky in a lot of games this season and they're going to need a couple breaks in this game to win, but I like them getting nine points.

- Don't pay attention to the people saying that Indianapolis is finished and that Peyton Manning can't get it done in the playoffs. That's a crock of shit. Las Vegas knows how dangerous they still are, which is why the line is about 9.5 for Indy. The Colts already beat the shit out of the Steelers once this season, they can easily do it again. I wouldn't take the Steelers under any circumstances. This isn't a soft Cincy defense and it's not Jon Kitna that's gonna be driving up and down the field. The Steelers don't fare well when they have to ride Roethlisberger to a win. When you shut down their running game, they're done. Look at his playoff resume - tried to choke a game away to the Jets, choked a game away to the Patriots and handed the ball off to beat a metally defeated Bengals team. Pittsburgh won't be able to fool Indy's defense and about the only hope they have is to try and injure Peyton Manning, because these guys are going to need some BIG breaks to win in Indy.

So, yeah, that's my take.

UNC is a 1.5-2 point favorite at Virginia Tech on Tuesday night. I fucking hate UNC, but I might be cheering mighty hard for them during this game. How do they not beat the Hokies?

Also leaning towards Kentucky -5 vs. Vanderbilt. Kentucky finally has Morris back and you know Tubby has been beating the shit out of those guys.

I was going to post on the Skins/Seahawks line, that is one juicy line. Seahawks played in a shitty division and the Skins already beat them once this year, granted it was at home and now they have to travel. I think the Skins are going to win outright and even if they lose they won't get blown out. I'm all over Skins +9.

the carolina/chicago game is somewhat of a mystery...if grossman makes mistakes, the bears dont have a shot. if he is efficient, its a whole different story. like i said i might put a little on the panthers to hedge

i'm a little turned off by the 2 high spread games at this point...if brunnel throws for 8 yards again the seahawks will easily cover, but we all know washington already beat seattle. the colts/steelers game is tough too, bc i am unsure how the colts will come out.

i like new england @ denver, but its a tough call, if i took this game, id take new england

ariggs, the thing is that we can play Duke close all game, for instance the score could be Duke 74-72 with 5 minutes to play (and your bet would look extremely good) and close the game out on a 22-4 run or something like that and completely blow it open. It's dangerous to bet against Duke when they are at home, although they're not as good as a typical Duke #1 team, they can still put up 20 points in the blink of an eye, especially at home. People are looking at this as the #1 team playing the the #15 team, whereas I still see it as Duke-State in Cameron Indoor.

I can understand the Georgetown line. Their biggest spread of their four losses was a ten point loss at Illinois. Their largest loss at home is seven, to Vanderbilt. They're a team that likes to slow it down, so Duke won't get as many shots as usual. I'm still going to bet Duke, but I'm not going to put a lot on it. I WILL tease the absolute shit out of it and get Duke at +2 or at a pick.

Put $500 on both of them.

If they both lose, you only lose $1,000.

If just Carolina wins you win $300.

If just Pitt wins you win $280.

If they both win, you win $1,580.


And since I think these games are both 50/50, this looks like an awesome bet. 3 of the four scenarios you win.
