wouldn't mess with that game, never know they might hit every three or miss every three. and who knows a lot about either team

I teased the GB game to -1 and the ATL game to -4.5. So I'm looking good so far.

Took tonight off. Not even watching the game. NFL has killed me last 2 weeks, although Seattle saved me big time last Monday. I almost bet tonight, but decided against it. I was leaning toward ATL 1st half and OVER for game so prob. would have split.
Unless I see something I really like, going to take a week and a half off and start back up with the bowls.
I'm sure I'll still bet on some college bb and a little nba but overall I'm really learning that I like letting college football sat's consume me and then go a lot lighter on everything else. I have had a lot more success on college fb too.
Anyway, just need a break and it felt good to just take nothing tonight.
Should be back around the 23rd or so...
Good luck to all.

After a rollercoaster weekend I won with last nights game and ended up ahead on the weekend. Might take a few days off also, unless I see a good bball game to go on.

Haha, I'd be nervous too, if I was depending on the Sonics for my parlay.

eh they blew a 10 point lead but they're up 2 at the half despite shooting 33% from the field.

anyone who took the Spurs tonite got the bullshit win of the year.... the line was -7.5.... they were down 2 in the closing seconds, tied it up and won by 8 in OT

haha, my house is intense right now...

my roomate won the first two games of his parlay and so did I...

he thought i had taken Golden state so he took them, but in actuality i took Seattle...

So one of us is about to hit a 6:1 payout and the other is about to go down in flames.... 1 point game with 8 minutes left....

granted he's got 100 on it and ive only got 25 but still... i want my $150...

okay that was fucking gay.

Made a three at the buzzer.

We both lost because the game went to OT which botched his under (i counted him as 2-0 cause the game was going under by 20 points w/o OT).

I like betting the over for televised NBA games. It's fun to root for everyone to make every shot.

I used to not care about betting NBA games, but it can be just as lucrative as football if you know what you're doing and keep up with things like trends and matchups. I've started betting several games per night and it's been working out alright, I've just had to take the time to keep fresh and do research.

^^ What are your main things you look at? Player to Player matchups?? It always seems like I get fucked over with the NBA. Do you touch over/unders or mostly spreads?

OK, I haven't watched hardly any NBA in the last 10 years but as far as betting goes... Would you say that the stronger teams are more offensive minded and the weaker teams are more defensive minded?? I'm sure there are exceptions as I believe the Pistons are known for their good defense and good offense as well, same with the Spurs, right?

eh, i dont see a lot of evidence of that necessairly being the case...

my advice would be to stay away from totals...

some things to look for:

1)If a team played the previous night... teams dont fare as well on the 2nd night, particularly on road stretches...

2)How a team is playing lately... the Lakers have made me a lot of money the last two weeks because they've been playing some good basketball. Utah made me a lot of money over the two week stretch where they couldnt break 75 points...

3)Look for teams that are perceived as "bad" but aren't really all that bad.... these come in two forms... Atlanta routinely gets 10+ point spreads which is a lot in the NBA. Also, under the radar teams like Memphis tend to be underrated by the general public.

4) Disparity between home/road performance. Teams with party boys on it tend to roll over on the road because they're thinking about strippers rather than boxing out.

5) Be careful taking road favorites.

Most of these apply for all sports really...

To go fully in-depth would take me a really long time, but I'll try to answer this as completely as I can, as brief as I can.

I look at previous matchups between the two teams. I look at the defensive stoppers, if they'll be matched up against the scoring machines. Of course, I look at injury reports. I keep track of how the teams have been playing. I analyze how teams play back-to-back games on the road (some teams actually consistently play BETTER on the second night). I know which teams are likely to get blown out and which ones are always in it until the last couple of minutes (which really helps with totals, since you're getting an almost-guaranteed 6-10 extra points at the end of the game with fouls, and then you always have the chance of overtime). I would say I bet about 65/35 spreads/totals.

Scoring in hockey has been down lately, so look for the UNDER on Grand Salamis, especially when the high-scoring teams like Philly, Detroit, Atlanta, etc. aren't playing that night.

I just put $80 on Michigan St. -26.5 tonight against Cleveland St, an AWFUL team. Michigan St. should beat them by 40.

Slightly smaller plays on USC and E. Washington. I would take the over (150-something) on the Washington game, but my site isn't offering that.

Also have the Knicks, Mavs and some NBA totals.

Let's see if I can't mush it.

Well, starting back again tonight. Really like the App St. +3 1/2. Also took small play on ML. Game is played in Tennessee, so pretty close to a home game for App.

Might take small plays on those 2 NBA games....just to jinx you LOL.

Wow, Michigan State is losing to Cleveland State at halftime. This is ridiculous, Michigan State's season has been like one huge fix.

I might bet against them for the rest of the season.

Hornets looking good.

I wish App State would quit turning the ball over. Feel good that its only 9 at half, they should be getting blown out. They can't run the ball and they can't hold onto it. Their defense has been sort of a bend/don't break.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaamn, I got drilled tonight, but only for about $140. I had two plays out of ten that were ever at the point of being in serious danger (Michigan St. and the Knicks), everything else was in my favor for almost the entire time.

I won with the Warriors and Pacers, but got fucked on unders when games went into OT and when 62 points were scored in a fourth quarter. Then I lost the Grand Salami by half a goal, after I needed four or less goals in 25 minutes of hockey.

Talk about a big mush. Meh, we'll make it back on football.

What a ridiculous night last night.

The Hornets were up 15 points in the 4th quarter, GETTING five points... what in gods name happened.

The worst part about it was the stattracker wasnt working so I dont even know how it happened.

Anyway I won with the Golden States, the Indianas, and the Lakers...

Lost on total bullshit on the Denvers. They were beating the Nets and Jason Kidd of all people hit a fucking three. I don't know how in gods name a shot Jason Kidd took actually went in the basket but they ended up blowing a +4.5 spread in OT.

Yeah, that Hornets game was ridiculous. And, the Nets are one of my nemesis. If I ever bet on them, they become the worst offensive team in america. But, let me bet against them and all of a sudden Kidd becomes Larry Bird. I despise Jason Kidd. Hated Nets even worse when Martin was there.

A quick hockey question...I don't bet it much, but every so often. One day a couple weeks ago, I took Over 6 goals in a game. It was 3-3 in OT. Yahoo wasn't updating good, but I found out I won the bet b/c the final score was 4-3. I don't know what happened in the game.
If the game is tied after OT and they go to a shootout...does the winner of the shootout get a goal? Would that make it 4-3?

Betting aside, I think the new hockey OT rules as well as the college f'ball OT rules are pure crap. I don't care so much about hockey b/c I loved it when they were on strike, but the college OT irritates the shit out of me.

The winner of the shootout is credited with a goal so that someone is the winner on the scoreboard.

I won UCLA +8. Took it right before game started. Was leaning to Mich. but line jumped and thought 8 was too many. Just glad it didn't go into OT.

A couple that look good tonight. Cal Irvine +14 and UNLV/TXT Over 144.

I think Denver wins by double digits tonight, after struggling last week with Ravens.

Hmmm, you seem to have missed my USC and E. Washington picks. That's 2 of 3. I came out slightly ahead on college basketball last night, dumbass.

It's easy to come in here after the fact and talk shit, where were you before the game started?

Anyway, my C-note on the Pats is about to wipe away all the losses. So, while you're fucking your boyfriend tonight, I'll be taking your mom out for steak.

Man, tough day again. I finished up with a 2-pt loss on Cal-Irvine. Followed the end on line and its amazing....same way I've been losing games at the end. Col. goes up by 16 and thats the game. If I would have taken Col, Cal-Irvine would have come down and either dunked it to push or hit a meaningless 3 to cover. But, whatever happened, they couldn't score.

I did get the Broncos/Bills OVER. And also, the UNLV/TXT OVER. So I did good with night games but terrible with day games. After winning UCLA, I lost about 6 in a row. Chiefs are probably biggest underachievers in NFL. I don't mind so much that they lost, as much as I missed the OVER. I did hit the 2nd half OVER though. Chiefs defense SUCKS. They give up more 3rd and long's than a video game. Its downright embarassing. If Gunther Cunningham keeps his job after this season, then I think I will start applying for assistant coaching jobs. Seriously. This guy is awful.

Seattle blows a 14-0 lead, now down by 10. Colts can't do anything. Vikings in red zone 4 times and have 3 points. Steelers get a 84-yard punt return to set up only TD. WTF????????

I'm just looking forward to hearing how Lil G took the Chargers today. I love those after the fact Colt lectures.

No, I laid off the Colts game. I have a $30 bet to win $210 that the Colts will go undefeated, though.

I saw a stat earlier this week that the Chargers haven't lost by more than 4 points since 2003. I didn't want to touch either team, but was thinking about teasing the Colts.

I have a sweeeeeeeeet 4-team $40 parlay that I don't want to mush by posting here. Two games are basically in the book, just need two more to come through.

Go Panthers.

'72 Dolphins should send me the biggest Christmas card in history.

I literally can't win anything in NFL. I didn't want to take either side in Colts game, figured Colts to win at home would be pretty good. Didn't want to take Jags -15, figured they could cover 5 on a teaser against SanFran at home. They win by a fucking point.
Vikings dominate first half but can't score and give up a long punt return. 10-3, they have a FG blocked. Then Steelers drive to get a FG, then Vik-Queens fumble kickoff and Pitt gets another FG. All they had to do was get a small lead on them and they easily cover, prob. win. Red zone 4 times for 3 points in first half.

I love the Bears tonight. Also love the under. Can't take either b/c out of money til Wed or Thurs.
If your reading this, do yourself a huge favor and take Falcons and Over.
