Well, for one, I said "Cowher loves Monday Night". I associate love with wins. Cowher wins A LOT on Monday night. And, again, that Ravens game was a division game, so theres more familiarity there.

I think I can use "a win's a win" if you can single out one Monday night game in Cowher's career to dispute me saying that Cowher loves Monday night. At least next time, find a loss to dispute it.

Oh, I'm sorry...is the the "Official Sports Thread" or "Official Sports Betting Thread?"

Doesn't matter if they won, they didn't come even close to covering. It was fucking shameful.

Well, since I've got Pitt ML and Pitt +8, all I want is yet another Cowher win. But even just a cover would be nice.
Also got Pitt +12 now after making a 2nd half bet.
Really wish a team I bet on could make a damn field goal sometime in a game.

I really didn't understand the onside kick. Steeler defense was playing good. And, man, at least kick the thing 10 yards.
Really wish at end of 1st half they had penalized the facemask correctly. Should be 15 yards from line of scrimmage, since it happened behind line.

Hoping to pull something out in this 4th Qtr.

Yeah, but I put a lot of blame on kicker. And still hate that onside kick. Colts got a lot of points on a short field. Make them go 80 yards. Steelers D didn't play that bad tonight. Steelers O played like garbage, but I give Colts credit.

im not one to pour salt into a gamblers wounds, because ultimately anyone who gambles is a lot cooler than anyone who abstains from gambling, but...

the steelers were a sucker's bet tonight....

at Indy and ben has missed time with injury? they got a gift score on peytons INT...otherwise this is a complete blowout...

Indy shoudlnt be less than a 10-13 point favorite at home against any team in the league right now...

Jesus Christ, how do people keep betting against the Colts? This team is obviously the best team we've seen play in the NFL since the '85 Bears.

I'm sorry, but if you took Pittsburgh tonight, I have no sympathy for you.

Thanks for the $160 Cowher, it was like free money.

Well, I took Steelers b/c I always get burned on big offenses. Steelers D contained them. That damn onside kick. Also, I knew Colts D was good, but they've also played a weak schedule. No way I would have taken Colts giving 8 points.
I really don't feel that bad for taking Pitt. Should have been 13-10 at halftime, then kick it deep and play field position.
Not saying Pitt would have won, but possibly covered.

Also, that last drive. I didn't mind the first run...but they gained a lot and got down to Colts' 30. How about a little pride and try to score? Put backups in or something.

lol cowher doesn't play to cover the spread. it was an obvious loss at that point, i don't think there's any pride in getting garbage points that are irrelevant to the game's outcome. indy set the tone early with that 80 yard TD to marvin, and that FG to end the half b/c of that bullshit low block call really put the nail in the coffin i think. and i do think they would have kicked it deep had the score still been 13-7.

I know Cowher doesn't play to cover the spread. I understood the first run, but they got 20 yards down to Indy's 30. Throw the damn thing in the end zone 4 times. If you score, then onside kick and play the thing out til its over. If they'd have done that down by 19 in Pitt, fans would have booed him off the field.

I could say that the over (shootout) was a sucker's bet too.

Its all good though. I don't really mind taking Steelers there. Crowd helped a lot too with all those false starts. Pitt offense played really bad. But, I don't think Indy wants to play this team again.

yeah i didnt realize how little the steelers had played in a dome environment, and how much of a factor it would have on the game. i definitely wouldn't have picked the over either. but down 19 with 2 minutes left, cowher isn't gonna go for it, not in the regular season. there's no point risking further injury to ben, and putting maddox in only would have added the possibility of another TD for the colts off an interception return.

I just hit back to back three team teasers, then the saints, and then the Colts last nite... i didnt touch the over, there was no need i wanted all my action on the Colts and i never take side bets anymore...

Fair warning, while im gods gift to mankind at NFL, im like a 50% guy in CBK (and im proud of that, cause 90% of people are way below that)

That being said i like UNC in a pk (line went down) and Wisconsin +5

I'm thinking the 10-point teaser of the year might be

Texas
VA Tech
USC

I see 3 blowouts.

And to answer USC question. I think they cover 21 pretty easily. Both teams have had 2 weeks to prepare. UCLA doesn't match up good with them the way Fresno did. USC is also at home.

^^Add the Colts to that teaser and get 13 points on all four. Colts at -2 vs. the Titans is a steal.

I've got Wake Forest, Clemson, Illinois, Michigan and, sadly, Purdue tonight.

Meh, went 3-2. I should have easily gone 4-1.

Wesnesday will be juicy. Michigan State is only favored by 11-12 over Georgia Tech and Iowa is -4 vs. NC State. That's fucking money.

Does West Virginia have anything to play for this weekend at South Florida? They've already won the Big East, so the Sugar Bowl is a lock....right?

I want to bet them, but not if they're going to play it safe and bench their stars.

by the way state fans:
Handicapper: Big Al McMordie

Event: North Carolina State vs Iowa on 11/30/2005 at 18:30

Condition: Iowa

Promotion: At 9:30 pm, our complimentary selection is on the Iowa Hawkeyes. N.C. State has started the season 5-0, including a nice 61-48 win over Notre Dame in its last game. But the Wolfpack are a dismal 2-11 ATS off 5 or more wins, including 0-7 ATS off a double digit win. Take Steve Alford's Hawkeyes.
