If FroshKiller was as harcore fanboy as he wishes he was, he'd be bitching that Batman doesn't use a gun. And he'd be The Bat-Man.

i'm sorry
this whole "qui gon was ra the whole time thing" has me confused

i thought ra was able to live forever by taking over bodies

i thought that was the point of the throwaway line "you left me for dead and burned my house down"

In a way, Bruce did leave Ra'z for dead. He left the Chinese-looking dude to die under the burning debri and instead rescued Ducard (who Bruce did not know was Ra'z). So even though Bruce saved Ra'z, his intention was in actually leaving him for dead, if that makes any sense. So the throwaway line is still valid.

Frosh, while agree that this Batman didn't stick to the origins closely, I'm shocked that you liked Spiderman and Xmen then. Cause damn did they screw over storylines in those two.

I liked the new batman, I thought the way they showed him fighting..ie sneaking around dodging in and out of shadows was pretty neat. And overall it was entertaining, which is all I ask of a movie. (I'm a big Hitchhikers Guide fanboy and I still thought the movie was entertaining.)

Well I was just making reference to someone saying that this is exactly like the Guide fanboys, its not exactly what they want.

Batman, Batman Returns, and Batman Begins are the only Batman movies as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry bro but Jack N. played a joker that unfortunately will not be topped by any actor.

For that reason, the 1st Batman will always be the best.

Also, Michael Keaton's Batman is still better then Christian Bale's, though not as badass. If that makes sense.l

saw it today for the second time

if Crispin Glover doesnt get the role of Joker in the next movie, i'll be kinda saddened. i think he'd be perfect for the part.

Crispin Glover has the comedic value of Black Coffee.

That would be awesome!

Jason agrees - he would be the best crazy man for the Joker. He says he'll be pissed off if he isn't

Guy Pearce is pretty cool but Crispin has much more of the feel that this movie has - dark, brooding, with insane bad guys.

I just finished Year One. It's an okay book, but personally I think Froshkiller's being a bitch about it.

I guess I thought that before, too. Oh well.

BIG QUESTION THOUGH:

if Batman fails to break the overall budget of $120+advertising, will they still go forward with a sequel? i really feel like this movie will have great legs throughout the summer though. THOUGHTS??

too much money to be made off anciliary products for sequels not to be made

but yes, we need to hope this movie makes mad box office and great dvd
or the producers will have to rely on the products to make their dinero

which means

too many villains
too many gadgets

so, it only making like 15 million yesterday isn't really good news
friday should have been a lot bigger take

[Edited on June 18, 2005 at 5:27 PM. Reason : i think its made roughly 40 million since open]

I like Batman Beyond, but neither the premiere nor "Return of the Joker" matched the story of "Mask of the Phantasm". Except for the flashback, the "Return of the Joker" is pretty mediocre IMO. And Phantasm has an opera sing the Batman theme. *drools*

I haven't said anything fanboyish. I have a strong opinion, and I've backed it up with reasons. If I didn't have a few dozen pics of Batgirl in my gallery, wouldn't none of you be saying that shit.

I read what you said, man. I understand you, but I disagree with you.

Keep in mind the first thing you were complaining about was that you thought it was based on Year One but that it wasn't anything like it. The thing is, it wasn't the intention to be a recreation of Year One. And you get all up in arms about stuff like going to the opera instead of Zorro. And you didn't even catch the big reveal with Ra's Al Ghul. So WHAT EVER. My dad can beat up your dad.

I thought it was going to be Year One, turns out it wasn't, but I still think it sucked as a Batman movie and was a mediocre movie on its own merits.
