One more day with her before I have to take her back to her mom...

but only another month and a half or so before I'm living down there just a few minutes from her bitch mom and hopefully having my daughter live with me 50% of the time.

Her mom has even been a lot less of a bitch lately, although still a little aggravating to deal with (though not out of malice, lately). We'll see how that goes when she finds out that I'm moving back and taking her to court again.

that at the end of those two weeks, you could still be waiting for a baby

My friend told me to buy a box of Depends for after delivery. Your vajayjay becomes a torrid river of blood for a few days after delivery

I'll second the depends comment. I did not purchase these but wish I would have. Wearing multiple pads at once and still ruining underwear, pants, sheets, etc just sucked.

Amen. Steal as many of those super sized maternity pads and disposable mesh undies from the hospital as possible. You'll use them all.

Also, carry extra pads with you (even when you think you're done bleeding) or you'll end up stuffing your panties with your little bundle of joy's tiny little diaper to ensure that your car doesn't look like you just shot Marvin in the face.

Nobody prepared me fully for how emotional I would be in the weeks following delivery. I was an ugly mess...

Also, have lots of snacks and food on hand, especially if you're breastfeeding. I wanted to do nothing but eat (and sleep).

Good luck!

Why am I so sad about my daughter turning one in a few days? I am happy but it makes me so sad. Also can anyone recommend the easiest way to transition to whole milk? How much do they drink a day?

I have two nieces and two nephews (oldest, nephew, is 18!!!!!)....anyways, youngest is just over and he eats and eats and eats everything, EXCEPT cake or other junk stuff, for his 1 year birthday party, he didnt even want to touch the cake (I think it was cupcakes actually)....but he eats eveyrthing else and even when you think he cannot want anything else to eat, he comes over a begs you for food when you are eatting something.....lol...he walks up, and just grabs your leg with this poor pathetic look like he is starving....lol...

It might be a good thing he doesnt like cakes etc...maybe he will eat everything except....of course, if he is as tall as my brother, 6'5", he is gonna be a big boy...he is walking now and he has losts some weight because of that....but he is a big boy and in the top percentile in height and weight at his age.......he is not is not big, but I can hardly carry him anymore, so I made he walk (when he was learning).....he got so mad at me one time because I was testing him how far he could walk before he sat down. His reward was me hugging him and saying good job, but I kept backing up...he got so angry! lol

Just had the 6 month checkup and came in at 29.5" and 18.5 pounds (99th and 75th percentiles, respectively). The little guy is already just like his dad: oversized, bald, lover of breasts, and gamer!

^^ that's a mad cute baby!

my 2 yo daughter was sitting next to me when i was watching the video in the link at the bottom. first she said "BIG TRUCK" and then continued playing with her toy she had at the time (go to 1:45 to see the racing truck). then she went silent so i looked at her and she was fixated like hell! she watched the last 2 minutes continuously (that was shocking in itself), and when the video finished, she said...

WANT MORE

past the first 8 months or so, I missed most of the baby stage and most of the "firsts".

i still think the later stuff is better, though...once they develop a real personality and can interact much better with you.

Thanks. We think we'll keep her.

Silas isn't very interested in interacting directly with the baby. He doesn't pay much attention to her unless she's crying. Then he'll try to comfort her, but he often forgets to be gentle so I have to keep a close eye on it. Otherwise, he'd shove a bottle down her throat and send her air born in her swing.

But mostly, Silas ignores her in favor of treating one of his stuffed animals like a baby and parallels the things I'm doing with Amelia. It's very cute.
