Now that the Broncos season is over I'll offer one final thought.

I'm certainly not a hyper religious person but I think it is disgusting the way the media attacked Tebow all season for being a Christian.

If they want to show him being a total weirdo singing weirdo Christian Bieber songs on the sideline that is fair game. I mean really that shit is pretty weird.

The bottom line is that he's a far below average quarterback on an average team. That's not newsworthy sportswise.

Matt Hasslebeck was in a similar situation last year. He had a pretty ugly season and through circumstances they managed to back themselves into the playoffs. Then they won a playoff game against the Saints. Then the seahawks let him go and he moved on and had another below average season in Tennessee.

Good job. You beat a team at home in the playoffs in overtime that was missing half of their starters. He hasn't done anything noteworthy yet. He can't pass the ball, he can't run the ball, he's just not a good player.

I just dont understand the medias need to constantly degrade him as a human or the fans need to constantly try to defend Christianity based on the fact that he became a below average starting QB in the NFL.

The NFL is too good of a sport to have it ruined by Disney story lines. Let's try to analyze athletes objectively in the future independent on their religious beliefs.

I remember Reggie White was universally praised for being a Christian. I just don't see what is so objectionable about being a white Christian.

I think people have difficulty separating the two, and the reality is that the extremist evangelicals give all christians a bad name, and Tebow is merely a victim of that.

So blame the Santorums, Bachmanns, and Rick Perrys of the world.
