"PvE characters don't have to try as hard to receive the exact same rewards as a PvP character."

This is true almost all the time, even in regards to instances. Groups of Alliance/Horde players purposely wait in front of instance entrances simply to fuck up your questing. Think of any quest that you have completed outside of your faction's protection. On your PvE server, the vast majority of quests can be completed without any interruption from the opposing faction, unless you choose to flag yourself. This is not the case on a PvP server, unless the opposing faction decides to ignore you, but more than half the time they will engage you. Simple logic suggests that because PvE players have the choice to engage the opposing faction and PvP players do not, PvE players have a distinct advantage in power leveling friends, farming, questing, grinding, etc... etc...

Basically, PvE characters receive in-game rewards faster, because they have a choice of whether or not they want to be hindered by the opposing faction, while PvP characters have no choice but to fight. On PvP servers we fight eachother in order to complete and turn in quests, on PvE servers, you don't have to fight at all. That is less time played, more experience gained, etc.. etc.. More competition means less progress for both factions.

You are right that being yellow means you are flagged, but it doesn't alter my point at all. You still have to manually flag yourself for combat, where on a PvP server you are always red to the opposing faction, regardless. The only exception I can think of would be the honor system, which you did point out. It is far easier for me on a PvP server to gain rank through my constant battles with the opposing faction outside of battlegrounds. Besides that though, progressing your character on a PvE server is far easier, because PvE servers have a restricted combat system that allows players to choose their battles. PvP servers are unrestricted, and every encounter is dependent on the players involved. Basically, we have to deal with the opposing faction at all times, and all you have to do is stay unflagged... which then means... PvE characters do not have to try as hard to receive the same in-game rewards.

""Who do you suppose cares more about dieing to other players... "

Obviously the guy who bitches and moans about dieing to other players cares more. I may play on a PvE server with my main, but I usually play flagged. Do I care if I die...no. It's just nice from time to time to be able to get shit done in a timely fashion when I have other things I need to do other than sit down and play WoW."

You made the decision that you cared more about dieing when you made your main character on a "PvE" server instead of "PvP" server. You choose to have the option to fight the opposing faction. If you didn't care about being slowed down by the opposing faction, you would have chosen PvP, correct? Choosing "PvE" over "PvP" doesn't mean that you whine more about dieing than anyone else, instead it just means that you cared enough to avoid dieing from PvP combat before you even created your character... Hence, the term carebear.

The point is that calling someone a 'carebear' when the topic of fucking conversation is a goddamn ROLE PLAYING GAME is pathetic.

There is nothing 'tough' in any of this so calling someone a wuss in this medium is a case of pot/kettle.

PvP, PvE, and RP are all distinctions within this MMORPG. It is an in-game feature actually, so I don't see why discussing it is pathetic. Every single one of us that plays made one of three choices for their main characters. People on "RP" servers made their choice in order to avoid people that aren't really into role-playing. People that choose "PvE" servers made that choice in order to avoid PvP combat unless they want to engage in it. People that choose "PvP" made that choice in order to engage every player of the opposing faction at all times regardless of location. I guess I don't understand why being called a carebear matters to people on PvE servers. I mean are you pretending that you meant to click "PvP" instead of "PvE"? It is blantantly obvious that you meant to avoid the unrestricted combat system when you choose PvE, so why does it matter so much when people define you by that, or call you a carebear for caring so much? PvPer's aren't tougher, they just don't care as much and decided to play the zerg version of WoW.

carebear is used by people on PvP servers to characterize people on PvE servers as 'pussies' for not playing PvP.

We are all aware of the distinctions between the server types. Carebear is not just some name...its an attempt to insult people who play in a certain way.

which is pathetic

Not true at all. I made the decision that I enjoy playing with all of my friends on a particular server than by going out alone on a separate server. If I cared more about dying I wouldn't flag myself. Nor would I go into UBRS as a 56 and aggro rooms of elite on myself While that has changed now that I know people on Mal'ganis, it doesn't change the fact that I know far more people on Gilneas.

It is the truth that PvP characters are playing the hardest version of World of Warcraft, based on the opposing factions ability to hinder the completion of in-game content.

Carebear is just an insulting term that points out the obvious.

I have a 60 Dwarf Hunter on a PvE server and enjoy playing it. I am on a server with a lot of my best friends and have a good time playing with them.

I also made a character on a PvP server, and have found the lack of honor to be completely annoying. I don't see the point of sitting around looking for low lvl people to gank for the sake of ganking them.

If you think you are more of a man by playing on a server on which you can't do one quest in Hillsbrad without being killed 10 times by someone 30 levels above you, then you can go ahead and think that all day long.

PvP is great as long as there is some honor in it, but i have no desire to get griefed by a bunch of 12 year olds with a Napoleon complex.

sexually confused.

^ yes. Getting ganked builds characters. Granted in some zones it tends to be much higher levels, but alot of it is equal level fighting. And that shit is fun.

And even in the cases when there are high lvls ganking low levels you just go /3 ?? NE rogue ganking at and then your own high lvls show up and kill them.

Wasn't the idea NOT to invite people? Yeah... KUG gave up on server blowups and got broodlord + 2 drakes down. Pretty much missed the world emotes because they were the same color as all the "<Tank> has Shadow of Ebonroc!" messages flooding raid chat

Tomorrow I go back to farming wolf meat! I've done about 1/5 of what's been turned in so far...

Playing on a PvE server you just dont get the same feel for the game. I am sorry, but as soon as I land in Taneris, I expect to see the epic bloodbath in Gadget that never ends.

And bah, my server was 8, but is now 79 :-/ . Eranikus keeps getting spawned on our server, but the big horde and alliance guilds are not about to cooperate and grief each other every time the dragon spawns.

Hey i gotta problem that someone might be able to help me with. I've been trying to log on this morning and it lets me get all the way into the world, but i'm invisible and everyone is running around in underwear. I also can't talk to anyone or do anything. The second problem is sometimes i'll come in but as soon as i do the game freezes for a few seconds then continues freezes continues then disconnects.

Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it thanks.
