Adult beverages give me headaches now. FML
Well, pina coladas, chi chi's, and all the other fruity mixed drinks don't...
Looks like my days of the hard stuff is in the past

We moved to a Honda Odyssey last year. I <3 my van, even if I miss my little VW Golf. 11/3/2012 8:14:20 PM |

We're getting a Nissan Quest. I think it's being named Oberon. It was between the Quest and the Odyssey. Cat apparently didn't like how the Odyssey felt on her test drive.
I'll just be glad not to have to make two trips to the airport because we have two car seats, three adults, and luggage.

You'll be so much happier with a van even though it feels uncool. It makes life so much easier. I have plenty of room to haul my kids and friends (their friends and mine) along with a stroller, folding chairs, groceries, toys, and the whole nine yards without sacrificing a thing. Then there are all the bells and whistles that come with a van like the built in sun shades, dvd player, outlets, and chill box that really just seal the deal. I don't know how I survived ball games and long car trips before getting the van. 11/3/2012 8:30:40 PM |

We apparently have the DVD package because it comes with the dual moonroofs. Also the name is now a tossup between Oberon and Jonah. 11/3/2012 9:01:03 PM |

The DVD package is 100% worth it. The 2-3 hours drives to Durham and Virginia go by with ease without any fuss or muss from the backseat. 11/3/2012 10:18:29 PM |

It bugs me that they make kick as CTS-V, AMG, RS, M-series, etc wagons, but nobody makes a kick ass minivan with 400+ hp. 11/3/2012 10:24:10 PM |

If you want performance in a van, you need to look at a SUV.
Renovating this house has made me feel so old. Both the soreness from working on it and having to do adult things like pick out paint color and tile. 11/3/2012 11:56:34 PM |

^^ it bothers me more that I can't get a hybrid minivan.

Cat got our Quest from Michael Jordan Nissan (I plan to take some googone to the badge). I only mention this because the vehicle was apparently recently loaned to Mia Hamm for some event. I find that nifty AND it makes me feel old. 11/4/2012 12:21:10 PM |

you do a bunch of manual labor for a couple days straight and get sore as shit, but you like it cause you can actually easily fall asleep at night
or does that mean i know i'm enjoying some aspects of getting old and am just generally an insomniac? 12/29/2012 7:52:01 PM |

Pretty much all of my friends are having kids now. The only ones that aren't are my service industry friends that are still banging different broads every night like they're freshmen in college. But even out of those, half of them have had accident babies.

I kind of don't like talking to some of my college friends anymore because they either like being around other people's kids SO MUCH or they have ones of their own. I don't want to risk catching whatever they've got, and I definitely don't like holding babies.
jbrick, we can be kidless friends and go do cool shit that the other people won't anymore. I need replacements for some of them that have gotten knocked up or about to. 2/12/2013 8:19:03 AM |

Its funny that all of my friends that don't have kids still party way too hard for me to hang out with them on a consistent basis. I'm in this purgatory friend zone where I either have to hang out with my friends and their babies/kids...or I have to go and get fucked up with my restaurant friends and feel like shit the next day.
Where are my normal kid-less friends?!?!? 2/12/2013 12:55:50 PM |

That's where we're at. We have a house and that associated BS, but no kids. Can't get wasted every night because I need to be able to paint, grout, work, or something the rest of the weekend. I told the SO we were going to the auto expo this Saturday but I might cancel on him and make him finish the damn pantry shelves instead because I need to be able to find my food. 2/12/2013 2:03:25 PM |

My group of friends is my age +/-5 years. We don't have kids, and may drink a night of the week. But this group of friends spawned from common fitness/activity goals and interests. Working out, paddling trips, sailing, working out, rock climbing, tennis, road races, etc. tend to be the uniting activities w/ some sort of social aspect following - poker, cooking, pool, movies etc.
Already have 2 road races lined up (and turned into a vacations) and skydiving trip in the spring.
My college friends, with the exception of the sailing club, were mostly based on drinking through out college. Sure some of them were real friends, but most were out of proximity. Of my old friends, even those I consider good and keep in touch with, most are either drinking heavily or having kids. I want none of either (any time soon for the later).
