We need some losses by VT and especially Miami coming up. An Orange bid would make me never question DD again.

Even if we're at 3 losses w/ ND and Clemson, we'd hopefully get the Citrus, at least.

I just want to see us in a bowl we've never been good enough for. And not one with a dumbass name like the TaxSlayer Bowl. It sounds bush league.

These rankings don't matter to me. It's the bowls that matter. That's the $ and prestige. And I want something we've never seen before. I want a SEC or Big 10 team that's not an also-ran nothing. Even a PAC 12 matchup in the Sun is more appealing. That's a conference we never play. Just please for the love of god no AAC team or another Charlotte trip.

Thats irrelevant. Our goal is to win out and go to the playoff. If we win the ACC, we are locked into a top bowl and if we lose to Clemson, but win our other games, we will likely be in the new years 6 at large. If we lose to Clemson and another game in addition to that, then we shouldn't want to play against another good team to lose against in a bowl so its moot.

I'm gonna call it right now, regardless of who it is, if the ACC champion has 1 loss, they'll be in the playoffs.

Miami and VT still have to play each other. And they both still have to play GT and UVA (who isn't completely terrible this year!) And Miami has to play ND as well. I seriously doubt VT runs the table even though their schedule is pretty soft. They haven't impressed me much this year. Miami just lost their #1RB for the season, so that will definitely hurt them, but IMO they're still the team to beat in the coastal. I think it's pretty realistic to think that the coastal winner will have at least 2 losses. Honestly, the coastal race has very, very little bearing on our bowl prospects. If we win out with the exception of Clemson we'll get a very, very, very good bowl. If we lose 3 games we'll still end up in one of the top ACC bowls. If things implode we'll end up in Birmingham or whatever.

If it's 3 or more losses, we'll end up in Charlotte playing whatever Butch Jones assistant is in there after he's fired.

You're telling me you're going to be disappointed if this team manages to win out, beating at least 2 ranked teams(potentially 3rd in ACCCG), wins the Atlantic Division, and goes to a great bowl just because the CFP slights us(they won't, but you have to be bitching to bitch)? Please, GTFO.

We can lose an ACC game and beat Clemson and still win the Atlantic.

Who gives a flying fuck about the CFP? If we manage to make and win the ACCCG and we've only lost 1 game(fucking South Carolina), at THAT point I'll be a little concerned about the CFP. But fuck moping about that shit now.

Plus the CFP is designed to have recency bias, so winning @ND, beating Clemson, potentially beating Miami/VT, that would hold a LOT more water than a week 1 loss on a neutral site to a healthy South Carolina team.

A little bit of success and people completely forget that this is still NC State we are talking about here. One game at a time guys, one game at a time. Remember how the other seasons we were feeling this way turned out? We need to take care of Pitt this week. ND is probably the most important game on our schedule left right now regarding bowl games. Assume we are going to lose to Clemson and not win the Atlantic right now. After those 3 games then we can reevaluate the season potential again.

How likely is any 2-loss team to make the CFP? I don't see it happening this year. There will be a slew of 1-loss teams that don't get in.

I think the Citrus Bowl is realistic if we're 10-2, given how good the B10 is and the likelihood they'll get an Orange Bowl invite (if I'm understanding the selection criteria correctly). Clemson will play in the Sugar Bowl, whoever loses to Clemson in the ACCC will go to the Orange.
