^^ it all depends on how your guild is organized.

some guilds have a point system where you build indivual points for things like participation in raids. then, items that drop in certain instances have specific point values in which you would use the points you have accumulated to, in effect, purchase the item.

some guilds also dont have this kind of structure. but for the most part, pretty much all the worthwhile items in these bigger instances are bind on pickup. with that said, the classes that the item is geared toward would pretty much be the only ones allowed to roll on it.

also, with the different loot settings, it would be easy for the raid leader to control it to the point where an item could not be ninja'ed by someone. all they have to do is set looting to "master looter" and then just have the specific classes /random on the item.

its really not as bad as you might think it is.

but make no mistake. there will be some competition for items. and, the game is not designed in such a way that the droprates facilitate you getting something every time you run an instance. thats why guilds are important. some runs you will spend 4 hours and not get a single thing, but if you are in a good guild that just makes your group stronger as a whole.

while you can solo if thats what you choose. the game really wasnt designed around "the individual"

I respecced last night to move just five points....felt like kind of a waste, but I think it will really help.

Took five out of Imp. Corruption to put into demonology, so now I've got 2 points in Master Demonologist and I'm just 4 points away from getting Soul Link. Right now I'm 0/27/11 and I really like it. There is just no point in wasting five points on speeding Corruption for instanced runs.

Demonology and Destruction is a strange one. Most ppl that go for that combination go into Destruction for Shadowburn and Ruin. If you go for Soul Link, you can get shadowburn, but you can't get ruin.

A more common Demo/Destro build is getting MD and DS in Demo and then Shadowburn and Ruin in Destro. You wont have the survivability that SL gives, but your damage will be better.

I've seen a lot of people go for MD/Ruin, and I might, but I've got a long way to go to 60 so I'll have time to think about it.

It's worth noting that, as far as I know, the Shadow Mastery +10% is on top of base damage, but the Master Demonologist +10% is on top of the base plus gear. That's what I've read on teh forums, at least.

Of course, reading the forums, you'll find about 50 lvl 60 warlocks, all of whom have completely different ideas on what they consider the best final build. So wtf does anybody know.

SM/DS is a strong pvp build but a little weak for PvP.

DoTS hit like a mack truck but you lose a lot of PvE DPS with the increased casting time of shadowbolt and decreased crit damage.

^^^^ Drop Cataclysm and get Improved Shadow Bolt. With Life Tap, mana isn't really a problem. Also, I'd drop improved firebolt and put the points elsewhere. Your imp should rarely be attacking. Just keep him out and invisisble in groups for the stamina bonus.

It's a shame the auction isn't still up... dude was posting an account with 4 lvl 60 toons, 2 with full tier 2 sets and 1 with tier 1. All of them were supposedly exalted with multiple factions, revered with a bunch more, etc. One supposedly had the epic raptor mount, one had an Ironfoe, all kinds of crazy ridiculous shit. Then someone noticed that the pics of the toons were all pictures ripped from Allakhazam as the wardrobe pictures for the armor sets, or taken from various other pages on the site, which really gave it away. It was also supposedly on the Medivh server, but he didn't even name the correct guy who rang the AQ gong first; he used the name of the guy who took screenshots and wrote a little fan fiction thing that eventually made it onto the front page of WoW's site. Completely over the top.

What kind of DKP policy do ur guilds use? Do you let paladins/shamans loot end-game DPS weapons, Ashkandi, Sulfuras? My guild has 1 Ashkandi, 1 Sulfuras (both warriors), quite a few paladins has been wanting the next Hand of Rag. We don't have a Thunderfury yet since garr won't drop the other half. My guild have reformed once already due to a coup and now a lot of officers (I'm an officer as well) are becoming dissatisfied with bullshit loot distribution -- mainly because we have not established clear looting policy yet. When bunch of officers are mad at Guild Master = coup.

I'm pissed off because I'm a dps warrior and OT (I have might/wrath, but MTs get first priority on Wrath, Elementium Bulwark, tanking trinkets, etc) and our MT (already has one half of windseeker's binding and is due to get the first Thunderfury soon as other half drops for us) looted Ashkandi so he can have it as a "status symbol" -- oh yeah he doesn't pvp either. With all the loot that's defaulted to MT, I thought it was kind of greedy for him to do so.
