You are the one that got your panties in a wad because I said that "11th over 12th isn't a big deal". Because it's not. We are one game out of last place. We sucked this year, we just barely didn't suck the most. UNC sucked this year, but they barely sucked a little less than we did. To say that we didn't have a worse year than UNC would be a lie. They beat us twice and they honestly beat better teams than we did. The only really good team we beat was Duke. They beat two good teams in Ohio State and Michigan State.

But honestly...the other teams don't really matter because...drum roll please.....THEY BEAT US TWICE.

Look, I'm glad we won 3 out of 4. I hope this carries over to the ACCT and maybe even NIT. And I sure as hell hope we win the ACCT and make the NCAAs.

But to win 3 out of 4 to end the season and still finish 11 out of 12 in the ACC is no reason to celebrate. And having an argument over who is less shitty, us or UNC, is stupid. We're both terrible and they beat us twice. I think they win that argument.

I'm not saying we had a better season than UNC. I'm saying its not like they had a much better season than us. You could argue we did have a better season overall, but I'm not trying to do that. Both teams had bad years.

But I know which team didn't give up. I know which team got better as the season went on. I know which team gave more effort every night. I know which team came back from big deficits to make games close instead of just folding it up for every loss.

Effort wise, our season was 10x better than UNC's season. But you wouldn't know that from reading this website, because even when we win, the sky is falling.

Expectation-wise our season was 10x better than UNC b/c we met our expectations. That is, we were supposed to suck and we did just that.

UNC was supposed to defend their title and yet they may not make the NIT. So yes, in that respect we had a better season.

Well, the football season was disappointing but we did beat UNC so it made our season easier to tolerate. You can make the argument that we were a better football team although they had the better record based on head to head and the win against Pitt (who they lost to).

I don't think you can make the argument that we were a better basketball team. They beat us soundly both times.

And I'm getting caught up in this stupid argument. We both sucked.

they really finished no better than us and right now if you ask a UNC fan how it feels to basically be as bad as state it gets them good.

^^Look...we haven't had a good year...because of that, I have no problem with negative comments, bashing the team, coach, players, etc

However

I expect that negativity when say, we're in the middle of a 7 game ACC losing streak

But right now, winning 3 of the last 4, when we are arguably playing our best stretch of basketball in years, I don't get all the negativity

did anybody read the recent study about how some sports fans actually get-off (not literally) on supporting losing teams?

being able to bitch and vent their frustrations on sports helps them cope in real life.

and the internet makes that even easier, they can do it anonymously, and therefore more abrasively.

3 wins in the 4 final games. not bad for a team that was predicted to do nothing this season (and who's guards have struggled all season)
