Guy behind me is incapable of closing his mouth when he eats. And he eats 4 or 5 times every. Fucking. Day.
Our "DevOps" team is beyond worthless. It takes them over a week to respond to any and all JIRAs for basic system shit. They cant figure out how to let us specify version numbers for our software builds from the build website, so we have to check in our version numbers into a text file in the repo.
Due to how slow they are in responding to JIRAs, I requested that they let us specify an industry-standard xml config file for nuget Package sources, so that when some othe devops fucknut dicks up our primary source (as they do on a monthly basis for no fucking reason), we can just change the config and have our builds work while they take their sweet time fixing whatever they fucked up... Nope, they dont know how to parse xml from whatever scripting system they are using, so they are gonna keep hard coding our sources. Their solution is... wait for it... to submit a JIRA to DevOps to change our build scripts while we wait for DevOps to fix the package sources 7/9/2019 11:01:06 PM |

This year. The manager's gone. The manager's manager is also on vacation until August 12.
Some of my coworkers are pieces of shit. One is gone until next Wednesday. The other didn't do shit all week and decided to take entire Friday. Our work/projects don't really overlap and doesn't impact much downstream. Both contractors, meaning hourly, no vacation days.
Should I still snitch?
And....Christians. 8/2/2019 2:28:54 PM |

When people send an email, then walk over immediately and instead of saying hey they say "did you read my email?"
If you're going to come over, come over and don't write. If you're going to write, write and don't come over unless it's an email about stopping by at a certain time and done in the form of a meeting invite that I have accepted on the calendar. 8/8/2019 1:58:38 AM |

Once every couple years some goober manages to send an email to a corporate list. The barrage of "I got this by mistake" emails I get and can handle, but then comes the 2nd wave: people replying all saying "PLEASE DON'T REPLY ALL" 8/20/2019 8:45:07 AM |

^^ I've had people come over multiple times asking "did you see that email I just sent?" about an email that legitimately had not hit my inbox yet because they sent it literally ten seconds prior to walking over. 8/20/2019 9:39:30 AM |

^^^ Yeah, but the third wave of emails is comedy gold, where folks start trolling and asking what everyone is doing that night.
1) There should be required training in order to enable the Reply All button 2) It's trivial to set up email DLs which restrict who can send to the DL
We have an AD group (which doubles as an email DL in outlook, IIRC) that controlled access to a corporate file share. Someone sent an email to that DL one day, which of course hit thousands of users. I guess a sysadmin got pissy that day, because he actually removed every user from the AD group who reply-all-ed requesting to be removed. Given that it can take several days for an access request to go through, those users were fucked, and they each got a stern talking to about reply all etiquette before they got their access back. It was glorious 8/20/2019 2:50:32 PM |

^ this happened in April
I work for a global company, so after the first wave of 1000+ emails, other time zones started checking their inboxes as their day started and jumped in with another 1000 emails.
Some people got VERY angry that their inboxes were filling up. Like, inappropriate-for-work level anger at the people who continued to reply all.

Four of us share a common work space with a half dozen server racks. One guys desk is in that area, then there are two smaller offices. One office is for two of my coworkers and then my private office is through there office space.
One guy bikes to work. He also bikes home at lunch, but every day picks up a burrito on the way back to work and eats it at his desk. On hot days he comes back and reeks of sweat and body odor from the bike ride and then further smells up the office with his burrito, which he proceeds to eat with chips at his desk for 20 minutes, while on the clock. He also turns a fan on that sits under him and further blows the smell of his BO around the office, and he's not the cleanest person to begin with.
A month ago I got tired of this and the smells from construction work going on in the vicinity, so I checked with the other members of the office and asked them if they'd be in favor of Glad plugins with very light scents set to low. They were very much in favor of this, so I got two and installed them, but ran them at the lowest setting possible to diminish their effect and make them last longer. Everybody else had told me that they really liked the better smells in the office and appreciated it being added to our work space. As for the coworker in question no complaints from him until Friday when he finally saw one plugged in at the rack space/common area. He came to me in a meeting this week and has reported he is allergic to them and that they cannot be in his work space. I told them they've been in place for 3-4 weeks and he said he didn't realize that was what was causing his allergy during this time. He has so far provided no documentation to this effect. He took the one down in the common area and placed it on my desk last night, but so far has not touched the one in my office. I spoke to HR before I even did this and they said it was totally fine as most folks have them around the office, including their own department. I let the HR Director know what happened and am now waiting to hear back. My recommendation was that he provide a doctors note of his allergy to verify it, but I will absolutely not take the one out of my office as that is my space.
Sometimes I hate working for the state. Otherwise I would have fired this guy long ago. But there are so many hoops to jump through that it makes it damn near impossible. 10/16/2019 9:24:05 AM |

4 times this year I’ve gotten a company-wide email from accounting that basically goes along the lines of:
“All, our business credit card account hit its limit so some purchases are being declined. We added funds and the payment is pending, you should be able to resume purchases tomorrow.”
Should I be worried? If it happened once per year it wouldn’t be a big deal, but it’s becoming a trend. 11/4/2019 11:39:06 AM |

I have plenty of workplace annoyances from home.
The kids when they're at home sick.
The downstairs coffee maker doesn't bring me my coffee upstairs.
