^ really? you can't? they were awful the year before. N'golo Kante is the only reason they won that title. Remove him from the equation and you're looking at a relegation-quality team. If Kante had played in the Euro Final, France would've won easily.

anyway, just in here for the Jesse Lingard and Zlatan bantz

That and Vardy scored goals he never has and never will again, every ref call (or non-call) went their way, not a single injury to a 1st team player, and every bounce of the ball fell to them for an entire season. But Kante did make CR's whole system flow.

I want them to go down now so badly just to spite the owners for doing that to Claudio.

Two straight season where the defending champion fires their coach mid-season. That's bananas.

What a fucking story about Alexis if true.

I get being frustrated when your teammates aren't showing the passion and heart you are, but at some point you've got to stop showing up the club and your teammates on the pitch or in training.

Publicly throwing gloves down after the bournemouth draw, public display of discontent at being subbed up 4-0, public frustration with teammates during/after the bayern massacre, and now flat out walking out of training. If I'm Wenger, I make that call too. You can't continuously act like that and embarrass the club, even if you are their best player. Good on Arsene for sticking to his guns there.

Without Sanchez Arsenal is absolutely fucked this year. Sanchez showing more passion in half a season than Wenger has shown in a decade.

That's a great characteristic but the point is you can't be demonstrative or a dick about it. That's not great leadership and only hurts the squad instead of everyone coming to his level.

Sure but I don't think Sanchez is being a dick about it at least on the pitch. I think showing frustration and disagreements on the pitch when things aren't going your way is ok. Now in terms of the dressing room if the stories are true then yes its more of an issue but I think Alexis is very frustrated at the situation, especially since they have regressed from last year.

Wenger may have effectively ended any hope of keeping Sanchez by benching him. It also spectacularly backfired on him seeing as how with Sanchez Arsenal looked much better in the second half.

So showing up a manager substituting you is good in your book?

Being distant and disgusted with your teammates after getting your ass kicked when everybody else is sucking it up, shaking hands with the other team, and clapping the away fans is good in your book?

Throwing a tantrum after the match, throwing your gloves down, and walking off is good in your book?

That's showing up your club. Fuck that behavior from any player period. Frustration or not, it's not professional behavior and he's only damaging his rep while embarrassing the club acting like that. Keep that in the clubhouse and work it out with your teammates/manager. Don't bring controversy to the club with public displays.

You are exaggerating all of those points. He didn't show up Wenger at all after being subbed. He quietly went to the bench and sat by himself. I don't see how that is unprofessional?

Players have no obligation to clap off away fans, especially players like Sanchez who has been putting in more work and effort than any other Arsenal player on the pitch. He didn't bad mouth anyone and sure he was frustrated at his team mates in the heat of the moment but he isn't throwing tantrums on the pitch he is demanding more from his teammates. Which is fair. Arsenal have lacked a player like that for a while now. If Viera is out remonstrating his teammates he is called a leader for that.

Tantrum after the match against Bournemouth? lol, again hardly a tantrum when he is voicing his frustration after that match. I would rather a player react like Sanchez than Giroud who was off celebrating and wasting 30 seconds in a vital match.

Sanchez went into training today, shook hands with the manager and did the whole session. The guy is probably going to request a move away but I haven't seen anything from Sanchez to suggest he is being unprofessional. Payet is what you call an unprofessional.

^ Yea Wenger is losing it IMO. If Sanchez did walk away from training then you don't put him on the bench and then bring him on at half time. That is even worse than what Sanchez did because it shows you want to discipline the guy but rely on him too much to actually do anything. Now not only did your team get effectively fucked but you just let the player have all of the power in the situation.

Wenger is def. a case of a hero staying long enough to see himself become a villain. I don't believe he is done but I do believe he is done at Arsenal because the club, the fans, and the board (especially the third) just aren't behind him. I said last year I think Arsenal had a two year window to win a title and they blew it last year. If Wenger can't even get top 4 I would imagine he straight up gets sacked after this year.

So, wazza, all those hissy fits were just good leadership huh? Wow.

Quote :

You've lost the plot here. That's absolutely an obligation after they just traveled to a far off land to watch you grab your ankles and take it. If they just walk off that's chicken shit from the players to not face them.

^^ lol what you describe as hissy fits are two seconds of a player being frustrated. Yes Sanchez and all 10 players have an obligation to clap fans that would turn on them at any chance they get lmao. Only the captain IMO should be acknowledging the fans, it doesn't matter to me or most fans that a player who played his heart out ignores his frustration for a moment to acknowledge me. Sanchez owes nothing to the club he is their best player by a mile. I like how Arsenal fans aren't complaining about this but you are.

Sanchez hasn't held the club hostage he is just asking for more commitment. Which when you watch Arsenal play is clear enough that a lot of players are just there to go through the motions and not care about winning. Sanchez wants to win at all costs and I admire that.

Great goal by Chelsea. Then a fan ran out to the field and got to the players before he was stopped. I am not sure exactly what he did though because it happened so fast.

Edit: Just went back. Looks like he was just yelling at the players when they were celebrating

Spurs trophy drought is now longer than Arsenal's was.

Which doesn't matter because they are different clubs with different expectations but I find it interesting nonetheless.

This feels like a big moment for the club. We've got everything in place, and the players locked up, now they just need to "see one go in" and the floodgates might open.

I think most would consider top 4 and the FA Cup a massive success this season to springboard them onto greater things in the next few years.

However, Chelsea. Good news is that Kane should be back by the semi's and the NLD later that week. We're going to need all hands on deck to get through them again.

Lol at Liverpool who are only 6 points ahead with united still having 2 matches in hand. United already has a trophy this season and still in contention for another. Liverpool have won what 2 matches in 2017 and have a lot of Klopp screams to show for it. Lol.

I've said it before, but Klopp's touchline behavior is unbecoming of a manager. He needs to maintain some professionalism for that 90 mins instead of running around screaming like a fanboy.

Great weekend for Spurs.

Should City pull off a win Weds things would tighten up even more, and we play the early game next Saturday as well so it could potentially be a 1 point lead by the time Chelsea kick the ball off at the weekend if things fall right.

We got hosed on an obvious handball at like the 15 minute mark. Should have been a penalty and Palace should have played the rest of the match with 10 men. Oh well, got to take care of business down the stretch.

The title is definitely still a longshot, but it's encouraging that teams have overcome this same lead or more at this point twice in the past 5 years to win the title.

I agree that the title race is there still but City, United, and Everton need to do some favors for Tottenham. Also Tottenham's capitulation last season also comes into play here and lets see if they have the mental fortitude again this year.

Chelsea has just far too much rest though for them to slip up like that IMO. To think if we had taken our chances in the 4 matches we dominated that led to draws we would be right in the title race. Knew those would come back to haunt us but I am loving the improvement under Mourinho. This is our best shot to win a competition we have never won before and also get CL. Europa is such a crap shoot though that you never know.
