herbalism took me just over 4 hours of time to level from 0-300

and i made about 150 gold in the process.

leveling it again sounds fun, actually... but i don't have any epics to d/e at the moment

herbing and fishing have made me about as much as farming if you dont count a couple of stupid luck drops (hammer of the north winds, sword of zeal, scarlet kris, brianhacker, mymidon signet)

umm... i make all of my money off of herbs and fishing these days, really

i spent a hour farming herbs yesterday and got 3 black lotus (30g each) and a stack of dreamfoil (20g)...

that's right... 80g in an hour for running around on my mount

Except that armor works on the dimishing returns principle. lvl 60 Mages have somewheres around 500-700 armor (not including Ice armor). At that little bit, an extra 200-225 armor is rather significant. +200 armor with a base of 500 will result in much larger damage mitigation than, say, having a base of 5000

Every single mage worth his salt will go 30 fire / 21 frost for PVP after this patch. Shatter working with all spells is just gonna be too nasty to pass up. The problem with going shatter before was "resist, resist, resist, resist" , fire doesn't have that problem. If it actually works like it should, I'll have around a 75% crit rate with my fireballs on frozen targets. Combine that with ice block, cold snap and being able to kite like a demon, we could become very nasty.

who gives a shit ? going from 10-15% mitigation is a bigger % increase than 65-67 .... but who fucking cares about 270 armor ? it's all the same mitigation system, there's no special mitigation for mages sense they have lower numbers.

slightly increased polygon count is the word on the expansion.

they need higher res textures, but they cant fuck with it too much, its extremely styalized.

I'd settle for optimizing the current engine.

I honestly wish came companies would view MMO's as a platform rather then a game, and improve the platform overtime as well.

EQ2 levels/classes dont work like the EQ1 ones. I mean what the hell would a 75-80 (whatever tehy got up to) necro translate into ?

Likewise if/when wow 2 comes out i doubt it will be the same advancement system with a location change.

if you have scrolling combat text there's an "adventure text" setting, and you can set it to come out angled and downward. it's pretty damn fun to have. makes it more exciting to play.

I am actually finding mage to be kinda fun. Granted I am only up to level 24, but mages have a neat bag of tricks while questing/soloing that keep me out of the graveyard. I don't know how much if any end game stuff I will be doing with a mage, but for now it's works.

Its not an irony statement at all stein.

Mages use the same two buttons in PVP and PVE (since they don't bother to decurse in either).

Warlocks actually have to switch to the five button combo for pet control and debuffs for PvP.
