Just curious, why did Mark Armstrong report this when he did? Was he trying to hurt us? Or was he just trying to be the first on the scoop? It just seems weird.

he's a reporter who is doing his job. he said all his sources were telling him the same story, no conflicting information, so he'd be bad at his job if he didn't go with it.

Armstrong has a clear history of tweeting (and reporting) pro-Canada stories. He obviously is trying to damage the credibility and greatness of American basketball, due to the fact that Naismith was actually a Canadian, and therefore Canada should receive credit (and all accompanying benefits such as Olympic gold medals) for inventing the game. Clearly, Armstrong is one of those bad hombres our president warned us about.

I still don't see how we could go from 4 straight NCAAs, two sweet 16s, one season where we actually performed well considering how thin we were, to this season where we are completely hella stacked but play like absolute shit.

I agree with this. Pretty classless. That said, our leaky-ass athletic department is partly to blame for this mess. I don't think he is a good coach, but he doesn't deserve to get absolutely pummeled on his way out the door. Shoulda been either fired after the Wake game or allowed to coach through the end of the season without dozens of articles written about his demise. Either way he has achieved some success here, represented the school well and deserves to exit semi-gracefully.

Because every other athletic department can make a coaching change without their shit getting posted by a dozen sportswriters weeks before anything happens. Now you could still put that on agents and managers, but that would mean that all those people have it out for us becuase it sure isn't a good look and that still ends up reflecting poorly on the AD.
