he'll be back if he feels like we could have a good season.

when he "made these comments" if he did...we were coming off a losing season, and this one hadnt shown too much promise. get him a pg and i bet he returns

If, by the end of the season, he is not a lock to land in the NBA and we don't pick up a big man recruit I wouldn't be surprised to see him come back. If he thinks he will get minutes and be the go to guy next year I bet he will stick.

Costner has a lot he could work on in his game. He has the potential to be a great shooter, he's a pretty good defender when he plays hard, and he sees the floor pretty well.

The problem is that he wants to play the 3, he can't dribble, and he can't dribble, and did I mention that he can't dribble? Plus he only plays hard sometimes. That can change easily, but he has to be in better shape.

So how's it work? You have to be enrolled in classes to be on the team? Is he done after this semester? So he'd have to go to grad school to play? Could he just take one class?

??

I'm pretty sure he has to be enrolled as a full time student, I'm trying to look it up but it's hard to find. I can't tell if he needs to be counting his classes towards something..

we need to start a "one more year" chant.. didnt they do that for tebow?

As a grad student he can take 9 hours to be full time, and some programs well let you go back and take 400 level classes.....

here is the rest of what brandon said
Quote :
"He said the interview referenced was from this summer and that he told the reporter he 'might' leave after this year. He also said he hasn't made any decision regarding next season."

we need to really step up at the games and support him and let him know we want him to stay.

I dont know if this applies to athletes but for regular students NCSU has a policy where your classes must be counting towards a major of some sort. So he would have to go to grad school, or maybe pick up a minor or two or something

minors have to be completed before undergraduate graduation so he would just have to put off his last few classes toward graduation until next spring semester and then just pad the hell out of his schedule with easy/minor classes until then

I heard on 850 yesterday that Lowe acknowledged to the media that Costner may not be returning to the team next year

Lowe didnt say one way or the other, he just said that he wants to be prepared for either situation and that he doesnt want to discuss it with Brandon right now because he doesnt want it to become a distraction

Where does Costner stand in terms of career points in State's history? If he can break into the Top 10 and join some of the elite players on the list then that might give him motivation to come back.

What about Matt Leinart at USC a few years ago taking ballroom dancing class as a grad student during his 4th year?

Stop hating on Costner. 6'9", quick on his first step and has the ability to shoot the deep 3. Scouts will see him as a guy who, if he becomes more aggressive and works on a few parts of his game, could be an NBA player 2-3 years from now.

But Costner - don't go Josh Powell and Cedric Simmons and leave early. . . they both took over a year to see NBA court time. . . a year you could spend in the limelight before getting a low draft pick.

Years later they still aren't getting time. I don't think their decisions really made that much difference.

Almost another double-double.

Perhaps a tad manic, but BC can ball.

Please, please return.

Compared to his redshirt freshman year, Costner's averaging 6 fewer minutes and 1 or 2 less points and rebounds, but slightly better in every other stat (except steals - .8 to .6).

you must have missed the part about 6 fewer minutes, but ONLY 1 or 2 less points and rebounds and .2 less steals. And he's only getting fewer minutes because there's more players to spread it across than in his redshirt fresman year.

I hope he comes back, especially after Cousins rejected us. We're going to need him. His current slump may be a blessing in disguise (for those of who want him to come back).

i just looked at costner's numbers over on kenpom and it looks like his 2007 and 2009 numbers are similar some are better for 2007 (shooting percentage for instance) and some are better for 2009 (offensive rating). 2008 he is pretty much worse across the board.
