I don't care for mustangs but I don't go to look at the cars. Its more entertaining to talk to the owners/meet other people that are really into their cars. As I've found out on this forum when posting about my car people have a superiority complex when it comes to any person really taking pride in a car that isn't 100k+ exotic. One guy had a sweet 427 Chevelle, Tubbed, Race gas, and cage. I drooled a little looking at it/smelling it as it came by.^^What would you like to look at? There was a Jaguar XKR-S there, is that more your flavor of car? One that cost more than your house. Give me 10 Mustangs, Camaro's etc over super exotics. Mustang/camaro guy will mod his car and make it a custom, Jaguar guy is just there to show that he's got money.

Welp cary is shut down
4/7/2014 6:50:52 PM
They had to shut it down or else risk the return of "black jesus" and his chrome-laden "murdered out" Pontiac
4/7/2014 7:03:59 PM
Troll I've about had it with you lame fuckers. I'm done posting here. Goodbye asshats.
4/7/2014 7:32:16 PM
Why would you say Cary C&C is shut down and then not give a reason? That's some annoying shit bro.

get a car club that is used to hosting car shows to sponsor it, then charge a small fee for entrance. Use the fee to cover security or parking lot rental costs and donate any extra to a charity (and have a place to donate directly to that charity at the event).
4/8/2014 11:32:58 AM
Well there's already a Raleigh C&C that happens mid-month every month now, held at the Raleigh Grande off Glenwood. Not sure Raleigh (and Cary) need(s) two of these, or if people are willing to put forth the effort for both.
4/8/2014 12:59:14 PM
oh, i had no idea there was another one.
4/8/2014 1:06:36 PM
Well I mean...it just started last month, so I'm assuming it will continue. The movie theater seemed pretty happy to be hosting - they even showed an automotive "themed" movie at a discounted rate at 11am. I'd imagine they'll continue to do that too.
4/8/2014 1:26:43 PM
yeah, its actually a pretty good venue since they have lots of parking and not many people in the morning or mid day. if i were them i would push concessions on people there for C&C.
4/8/2014 1:59:59 PM
They have the concessions open. I only went to the Cary one once, looking at the venue I don't understand how it made it this far. The one in Raleigh is 5 mins from my place, and I can take my gf to a movie afterwards.
4/8/2014 2:54:55 PM
4/15/2014 1:22:56 PM
i'm assuming its paying to park, not paying to look
4/15/2014 1:25:45 PM
^You are correct. Gonna be interesting to hear how this turns out.
4/15/2014 2:23:34 PM
No one goes... That's how it will turn out.If the market could support monthly car shows that charge entry fees there would have all-ready been one.
4/15/2014 2:32:26 PM
Seeing as how there is now a monthly Cars & Coffee event in the Raleigh Grande parking lot on Glenwood (which is free) I don't see how they could expect a good turn out if they're going to charge people.
4/15/2014 3:39:39 PM
^ yup. 5 minutes from my house.. guess i'll be taking my mustang if i wake up early enough
4/15/2014 3:44:26 PM
^ I like going places to look at your type of Mustang I had a 67...
4/15/2014 4:02:55 PM
Gonna be nice and sunny Saturday maybe I'll take the 5 min ride to the theater. Look at some cars and catch a movie. ^^^ Yup, gonna be nice and empty in June. I don't know why he's attempting to keep it at Waverly Place. Its pretty obvious that the businesses their do not want Cars and Coffee there. There must be some other places in Cary that would welcome the event. Maybe Crossroads Theater. Also that parking lot sucks.
4/15/2014 4:53:50 PM
how about Trucks & Tacos?
4/15/2014 5:10:45 PM
Organize it!
4/15/2014 8:05:56 PM
shitback in the day, adam8778 and I drove 2.5hrs to a garage meet-up at the cookout on western.Garage dedication.IIRC that was Jeepman, Optimusprimer, TripleD4U, SMC? (guy had a dune buggy creation) and someone else. It rained so we hightailed it to Crest road for some garage hanging
4/15/2014 9:25:47 PM
^^^^ I think the businesses do want it there, that place is dead Saturday mornings without it. The property management wants to charge a fee so they can have people sign a waiver agreement and enforce the "rules". Im sure the property management sensed things getting a lil wilder than the normal spirited driving (bikini photo shoot) and consulted their lawyers and insurance company.[Edited on April 15, 2014 at 9:39 PM. Im planning on going, I have someone to visit right around the corner.

I went to my first Cars and Coffee event yesterday here in Knoxville. Over 1,000 cars came out, which was pretty awesome. My LeMons team took our Geo and Contour for the race car area our local SCCA club set up. It was pretty funny seeing the confused looks the Ferrari/Maserati/etc owners gave our LeMons cars at first, but once they understood what they were they loved it. It didn't hurt that the Geo has 5 or 6 trophies from LeMons races which were on display. The event was fun, I saw some cool cars/trucks. Three Deloreans came out, which is a pretty rare sight, and I got to see my buddy's De Tomaso Pantera for the first time in person. Lots of really nice looking Maseratis and Aston Martins, which I'm a big fan of, and a new Jaguar F Type convertible. The only downer is that a guy who was locally famous for owning a really nice R33 Skyline stopped to help a buddy with car trouble on the side of the interstate leaving the event, and a driver swerved off the interstate and killed both of them. The offending driver Francisco Javier Zarate Rodriguez was charged with vehicular manslaughter, driving without a license, driving without insurance, etc. I didn't know the Skyline owner or the other guy, but a bunch of my friends did, and its pretty infuriating that they were killed like that.
4/28/2014 9:26:53 AM
That fucking sucks. Both of my parents are disabled thanks to a Mexican with no insurance or license, and a head on collision, where the Mexicans turned into them as they crossed a intersection at 50 mph.
4/28/2014 10:48:56 AM
went to the raleigh one this morning. saw a couple pontiac G8's but no black ones...
5/17/2014 11:54:09 AM
I was there for 30 mins. Yawn.
5/17/2014 11:58:00 AM
^ Not enough Saturns for your taste?
5/18/2014 4:23:37 PM
Too many ghetto dodges, riced miatas, and mustangs.
5/18/2014 4:32:30 PM
I rolled through, then went to visit a friend across the street
5/20/2014 8:11:24 PM
5/24/2014 7:24:08 AM
what exactly is the point of this thing? $6.25 to attend a car douche circle jerk in fucking Cary?
5/24/2014 8:32:02 AM
Pretty much. And the same people show up at the free one 2 weeks later. Raleigh is not big enough for two of these a month.
5/24/2014 9:17:43 AM
A car guy will take any excuse to hang out with car guys...But there are too many douche nozzles and elitists that show up. So I stopped going. My favorite cars were always the weird ones. That dude with the mint green early 90s cummins 4x4 that's just clean as clean gets. The f1 supercharged crown Vic. A twin turbo mustang that came once.
5/24/2014 9:34:44 AM
I went the last 2 events in hopes of meeting some gear heads, didn't meet any, but I did get to hear people downing every car that wasn't a "exotic". I left the Raleigh event in less that 30 mins because of that snob mentality. I won't be going back for a WHILE.
5/24/2014 9:48:35 AM
And the clean low milage pantera that shows up. I could care less about the base 911s and the 458s that show up everytime to get their dose of feel good for their car.Ooh and a big blown 95 lighting. When I had my subie I parked it outside of the look at me zone.[Edited on May 24, 2014 at 9:51 AM. Reason : I don't need exotics but doing work on the car and uniqueness was what I liked]
5/24/2014 9:48:47 AM
At the Raleigh event, the car that caught my eye the most was a Z51 Stingray that hendrick chevy bought. If I had 75k I'd of driven it home I'm never impressed by low miles on a car, its a car, drive it. I'm also not impressed by extremely expensive cars that are bone stock (essentially every exotic that shows up). Raleigh needs a dragstip.

I love seeing extremely clean old cars - American muscle/iron from the 60s-70s or stuff like an early 70's 911 that is 100% original and yet somehow still in amazing shape. Stuff like that you can really appreciate.Newer, and rare exotics are awesome too - IF the owner is gracious enough to let you explore the car and maybe talk to you about it. Of course, most don't.
5/27/2014 10:10:14 AM
if i had a car worth keeping clean, maybe I'd care more about others' cars being clean but for now, I don't
