Yang was on Joe Rogan's podcast back in February. Probably was one of the biggest bumps in awareness for his entire campaign so far




As for last night, his responses were just ok. And then there's the fact that he was asked only 2 questions from the moderators, apparently had his microphone muted which prevented him from participating, and as a result had the lowest total speaking time of all 20 candidates at 2:50

Regardless, there is a long campaign ahead, and Yang will continue to get his message out.

As I said though, the campaign goes on. Yang will continue to get his message out, and the 2-5 minutes he was denied (whether intentionally by NBC, "technical difficulties", or being too polite) will not matter that much in the grand scheme of the campaign.

Yang just wasn’t aggressive enough. He didn’t fight hard enough. The debates aren’t just an interview, it’s a challenge, and he failed it this time. Hopefully he gets another chance.

Yang was asked 2 questions by moderators last night. I haven't seen (or counted) how many times all the other candidates were asked by the moderators to speak, but I can tell you they were all called upon more than twice. I think Yang supporters are justified to be upset at his treatment, but sure we are at risk of overblowing this, becoming too focused on media bias, and looking like crazies (justified or not).

And yes, Yang could have been more assertive. Assuming his mic would have worked on those attempts - he said it happened to him "a bit" how many times exactly that means he may or may not clarify. Yang has also made statements acknowledging some things that surprised him during the debate, and that he could have done better. I think he is and will be focused on moving #Forward and doing better next time.

He did much better this debate. Despite once again being given the least amount of time to speak, he used his time well and stayed on message instead of getting into useless back and forths like the other candidates.

Yes, he did cycle back to the Freedom Dividend on pretty much every answer, but that was his strategy going in, and it pertained in each case. He is still introducing himself to the public, and spotlighting UBI as a solution gets attention. Even if just enough attention to get people to look him up afterwards, at which point they will find tons of other content to learn about him, to go along with his 100+ posted policies. If people take the time to learn about him, the hope is that they will like what they see and keep learning until they become a supporter (not a politician. genuine and likeable. focused on solutions. very knowledgeable despite his lack of background in politics). Meanwhile the other candidates are just trying to tear themselves apart.

I thought his climate change response was the weakest, though he is definitely right about the 15%. I forget which of the other candidates followed up on that remark by saying that the US should lead regardless, which I agree with.
