warlock is one of the coolest classes to play in my opinion. they get the free mount, summoning, soulstoning, underwater breathing and all the warlock specific quests. . and they're just as good as hunters/rogues/mages/druids in high level instance groups.

the destruction talents are really nice in my opinion and i love shadowburn for close fights (if i remember it, cuz most of the time i dont use it in PVE and im just getting attacked randomly).

lvl 43 now but workin on it. def not the best solo pvp class, but good in groups and good in pve for a variety of roles.

Warlocks rape so hard, especially vs other castor classes.

They get a bad rep because of all the fools who max out destruction talents and basically become a piss poor mage and then ignore pets completely. The only destruction talent you need is shadowburn. The rest of your talents should be poured into affliction, and some demonology for pet enchancements.

I've noticed that people tend to ignore pets too, claiming them to be worthless in pvp or what not but aside from a hunter, there is no class my level that can take me and my pet at the same time in a duel.

Well ok, Shamans can and do fuck me up.

But they are jesus.

Are people really stupid enough to attack your pet? I screamed away this Warlock's imp and then just nuked and beat the shit out of him. Level 35 (Him) vs. Level 31 (Me).

problem is affliction talents have a lot of crap that isnt worth much. the dmg increase that they give for many arent that good for the amount of points you have to dump into them.

the pet talents are nice, but pets are hit or miss sometimes especially depending on who you are fighting. though i wonder, if u can bring a pet out super fast (whats it like 1-2 secs) by putting points into it, would constantly drawing out the vw and sacrificing him for the super sheild work that well with destruction talents.

to me the destruction talents dont make u a piss poor mage, they bolster what ur weaker at, dd. dots still rape whether your affliction is pumped up or not. i would like to try exhaustion curse out though. im sure that has some nice benefits.

Not on the same server as you guys, but thought you might like this shot. About half of our guild got together last night for some duels in the arena in SV. Took a shot early in the night.

Most of us are 50+ with one or two 20's and 2-3 40's mixed in. Several 60s.

Succubus vs priest.

You'll be seduced long before you get into a range where your "group fear" works. Interrupts spells to.

Oh

Lets not forget

Demonic Tongues

Cause you know

if you wanna sit there and wait twice as long to cast anything

thats cool by me.

You'll die before getting it off anyway.

How does the 50% time extension work on insta-casts?

Since like 90% of our spells are insta-cast.

i was kinda wondering about that the tongues vs insta question too. i generally use it anyway, but thats mostly cuz im just trying to lvl so my pvp actions are usualy getting jumped and if they start casting they get a tongues despite what they are.

the curses are instant and dont cost very much mana either. if im not mistaken our nukes do about the same dmg but quicker.

if ur demon speced u can use the pet with soul link still since the druid isnt worrying about it now or you could just call in a different pet with some range.

Here's what I've discovered.

Destruction:

Destruction talents deal damage yes, but the damage you deal isn't worth completely ignoring your other two talent trees. Especially after you get shadowburn.

Every Desruction nuke you get has a relatively long cast time that makes it entirely worthless in any pvp situation where you don't attack first.

Demonology:

Pets are a hit or miss deal. You can totally have the wrong pet when pvping a specific class. Damage dealing or tanking pets (imp, void) tend to do a lot better vs melee classes while the fel hunter and succubus have spells that specifically limit the effectiveness of castors. You can become a master summoner and reduce your summoning time by up to 4 seconds. That means that you can fear and summon a class specific demon if you get ganked, for example.

Soul link is also very good, especially if you have a tank pet out and are fighting a power class 1v1. With spellstones, healthstones, and soulstones, I really don't see how you could possibly die to anyone in the game.

Affliction:

Affliction coupled with the right Destruction talents can make almost all of your dots practically instacast. Granted their damage may not seem terribly high initially, but coupled with your stones and mob control you literally can wait out your opponent. Thats usually what I do so I have mana left over when the eventual Alliance zerg comes along.

I like affliction a lot because when your opponent is dotted, they don't really pay attention to how the Dots work. The damage is quasi exponential, increasing over time. People initially see -10 and laugh. 5 seconds later thats -45, for that particular dot only. It literally allows a warlock to take on more then one player at a time, especially if you go into a battle prepared. I've 1v5'd a same level but thoroughly incompetent alliance group and won before.

I'm trying to go for the right mix between affliction/demonology/destruction because I use practically all of my dots, dmg, and curses in addition to my pets. I have no set attack order for anyone, but rather try to counterbalance what I think they will do. From what I've seen, Warlocks are the only class that can answer any other class in the game.

Except, off course, Shamans. See Jesus:

after reading closer some of the talents and a convincing article on the vault i decided to respec as well. my crits dont do as much dmg, but not by enough to make me wanna dump that 20'something points back in there cept for shadowburn later.

You guys need to read the wow forums under PvP Discussion to make cookie cutter PvP chars. I don't recommend going pvp until lvl 40 though, otherwise leveling up to 40 might be too difficult.
For instance, PvP and PvE for Mages are completely different builds, not sure about other char classes.

I have the best possible gear, all enchanted to maximum possibilities, for a hunter at level 22

I have more money than I could spend

all I want to do is PvP, every quest is

"Kill X amount of _______________
Kill Y amount of _______________

then Visit ____________ at ____________"

Repeat again, and again, and again, and again.......

I'd pay 25g a level to get to 40, if the action doesnt pick up, feb could be the last month of WoW.

anyone ever duel a shaman, and the moment they drop the totems you hit them once with your melee weapon, then haul ass for the hills. it must be some psychological thing that always makes them chase you out of their totem range. look he is scared or injured. maybe they just dont care for thier healing, +123131agil, +123123strength boosts but it is a nice attempt to try to level the playing field with jesus.

oh yeah i always die anyways, unless of course Stein is the shaman

You are a fucking idiot if you think warriors suck. Those warriors are fucking idiots. Just because lots of people are fucking idiots doesn't make them right. I know from having two good warriors in my guild (there's a big difference here) that they are awesome.

Eject yourself from this thread, you don't know anything about this game. I mean fuck.

Warrior is a hard class to pvp but when done right they can be very very tough to kill.

One time I fought this warrior who moved and strafed around me so much I could barely get a spell cast on him.

i've had some warriors whoop up on me. i actually had one guy corpse camp me or find me in the zone for about an hour. he killed me a few times, i got him a few times. in the end it was pointless, however. I don't see how someone at lvl 39 doesnt find something better to do. either way 5 lvls later and for the most part i've been alright (cept for that 60 mage doing the same thing).

why are 2 people that don't even play warriors trying to tell a warrior his class is just fine

you need to back up your claims, not just say they're "good". Warriors are great classes. Especially if you're a hunter and warlock. You both have pets to take all your dmg. You both have AoE spells. You both do ranged attacks. You both have mana that allows you to use your spells. So what allows you to lecture about warriors?

Warriors are a great class. They're great for having in your party to draw aggro. They're great for taking enormous amounts of damage. They're great for giving the characters that do dps an extra 189 attack power. They're a must have for any 40+ instance dungeon. Warlocks and Hunters are not. I'm quite aware my role in the game at this point. I'm not intended for pvp. I have this little problem called rage that doesn't allow me to use my "awesome/good" skills until I do alot of dmg. It's too bad since warriors have one of the lowest dps in the game. So in my quest to gain rage, I need to hit people. Another flaw in this design is that blizzard is aware of the warriors miss rates and are working on fixing it. Bullshit you say!? (I'll link you to the thread made by blizzard announcing that the warriors miss rates are bugged once the forums are up). You've obviously never played as a warrior and actually get a feel for what you can and can't do. You've only been able to sit back and fire your ranged attacks and once in a while say "On me" or "oom" So unless your 2 warriors in your guild of ?? are doing something differently that all warriors need to know, plz, enlighten us, don't just take a picture of yourself and make claims without explainations. At the moment in the game, warriors are not meant for pvp.

and to engin, im sorry you couldn't get your fear off in time, that's not the warrior's fault...any melee class that can get out from infront of you can do the same thing, it's not a warrior only issue, it's your own damn fault...running in circles around you is not a warrior-only skill
