Ouch. We did a 1% wipe the other week. Heart breaker. He is still being stingy on the BF chest. Has only dropped one in the two or so months of killing him.

I don't know what it is. Phase 3 is pretty sloppy still.

I guess the shaman are dead by now and don't drop a fear totem, the tank forgets to stance dance, the warlock pulls aggro and shadow flames the entire raid.

the time before nef bugged because we had a mage call and 10 people got teleported at 10% with sheeps or something and evade bugged him out.

the next time, we had him turn and cleave, half the priests died.

then one time the tank just died with a warrior call. He got critten for 3k after a shadow flame.

Every possible thing that could go wrong, went wrong. Bad luck all night on every attempt. never in my life.

Sounds more like MT issues more than anything. A good off-tank can be very helpful during fears, (one that can run Nef back to position) in case your MT gets feared.

Normally never had a problem pulling agro off of Nef, and normally found that phase transitions are simply the hardest part of the fight. Tell your dps to d/l threat meter perhaps?

Also whenever you get a shadow flame warning, be sure priests are tossing a shield to the MT and all heals over time. For my healers, I like to have one who has imp. PWShield and ZG neck on for that extra dmg. Crits after shadowflames are common, so best to prevent as much dmg as possible from it beforehand

yeah i think we are going to address the OT issue. Our UD tank is stance dancing and burning his will of forsaken but on the 3rd fear he can't break it so we are relying on tremor totems which aren't pulsing right or the shaman is dead in the group. Suddenly, the OT has aggro and none of the healers are ready.

I think we are going to try to let the MT just get feared and let the OT tank it on every 2 fears. That way the healers know and the MT is ready when the time comes. Then it'll go back to MT and he can go atleast two more fears.

Going to try breaking our dependence on the totems as much.

put too offtanks on the other side of nef from the healers. have the ot's move it back in to place and move when the MT isn't feared.

the ground around nef shakes before he fears. your tank should be able to switch to beserker and back during that time.

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous that a trinket I got from a UBRS quest the week I turned lvl 60 is better than pretty much anything short of Saphirron loot for pure raid dps, and even PVP since they nerfed dual trinkets.

Yeah, I don't think its that big of a deal, cuz our main raiding warriors are either tanks or DW fury warriors, and the ones that aren't already have an Asscandy/KR/Severance.

yea im not a big fan of fury for PVP and i can hold my own with our rogues and always beat all our warriors even as a 2H in PVE, plus my HWL axes are still some of the best in the game in naxx so i dont worry about picking up fury weaps.

Fury is great as long as you have a healer for PvP. I haven't played Arms in BG's on my warrior, but I can say that even without a healer as a Fury specced warr., I have a really fun time smashing faces.

We got Noth down last night (5th boss down like ^^^) and , had 2 attempts at patchwork to get a feel for it, hope to go in full force tonight and get some good attempts. Any advice? This dude hits HARD and its a pain to keep the tank up when you have 1.6 sec to react and heal.

1 MT, 3x HS tanks. High HPs HIGH armor, have some smart warrior calling out when to chug the 450 ac 2 minute pots. Once it becomes a DPS issue and not a healing issue, have your dps go nuts with consumables (mongoose, firewater, juju, crit/undead stones). If you are horde and have trolls, have them take a dip in the slime before you pull and dont heal them, lets them get better use out of berseking. Make sure your healers are assigned around to the tanks and ONLY heal thier tank, dont heal dps, (normally self injuring trolls) and DONT cross heal (it will mess up your healing on your tank). O and fury warriors + lolignite mages.

I started WoW a couple weeks ago and it's pretty sweet, I started because I have some friends I live with who play. Right now my new main (started a pvp twink priest, now have a 26 paladin) is just doing quests around pretty much with the guys I play with. I wouldn't think it's too late at all to start, especially with the BC coming out where everyone will be leveling up the new races I bet. I haven't gotten to 60 yet of course, when I get there I figure I'll join up with one of those guy's guilds and get into raids and all.

we assign 2 priests and 1 pally to each offtank and the druids heal the mt (yawn :x)

our "mod guy" made a mod to organize our heals on PW so basically you spam the living fuck out of it and it heals when it's ready.


you dont need a mod tho, just try to stagger heals so they all land at different times with 3 ot's you should have around 6ish ? seconds to heal your ot's so plenty. I suggest you just take your healers and your tanks. and practice keeping your tanks up. until you can do that there's no point dpsing him. it's a stressful fight, but it's a lot of fun when you get it down

Really, there is no better time than now (next few months) to join WoW. Most of the current gear people have spent months getting will be obsolete come the expansion lvl 70. It will all be about what you want to play. If you want to place a race that is already in the game, I would pick it up now and get started leveling your character. If you want to roll Blood Elf or Draenae, I would pick it up when the expansion comes out (sooner if you just want to get a feel for things).

obsolete isnt exactly correct


at level 70 stuff will come up to par with naxx stuff. I mean ya there's a level 67 axe with 380 top end.


but might of menethil has 435... so naxx wont be obsolete but it wont be that much better either.

Well yes, not exactly obsolete. Naxx is gonna be good for a long while. However, the difference in gear b/w a AQ40/Naxx guild and a MC/BWL/non-raiding guild are pretty substancial right now. At level 70, quest rewards and instance drops will be pretty close to Naxx gear, so that will level the playing field a bit.

I suppose that is what I meant to say (which is pretty much exactly what you said if I had completely read your response like I should have).

I got halfway through coding something to parse combatlogs to display a line graph of tank hitpoints as they get hit and receive heals for Patchwerk.. then we decided not to do that anymore :/ I really should finish it, though. It'd be the most helpful tool for blaming healers that you could ever imagine.

you have enough time to get ot 60 be jan and then level with the rest of the server.


the new people will replace all of their gear when they get to 67-69

the naxx raiders will ride their gear to 70 and then start replaceing it.


both will end in about the same spot raiders will just not have to worry as much about upgrades.

NEW SERVER (vashj), less than 3 weeks old. If you're looking for a new start this is the place. So far it's been extremely balanced as far as horde numbers versus alliance. It's actually quiet because it's going to take about 6 months before the first annoying as hell 13 year old makes it to 60. I'm finding a lot of groups of end gamers taking a break showing up here. Good groups.
