We had some dumb plays in the 1st half to let them get on a run. We battled hard though. Jack Clark was probably the best I remember him playing. If Morsell and Smith hit a few more 3’s we would have been alright.

We fell from 36 to 38 in NET. It’s a Q2 loss. Not a killer for our resume. Just a big missed opportunity to put ourselves in the top 4 for ACC and pad the resume.

Style of play definitely influences my opinion too. I didn’t give a shit either way about UVa pre-Bennett. But now I have good reason to hate them.

I kinda think my dislike for Wake football has bled over to basketball. I don’t have a good reason to dislike them really. I just do.

The battle for 4th in the ACC (assuming UVa, Pitt, Miami will finish top 4…not sure if they’ve actually clinched that yet)….

4. Clemson 11-4 (@ UL, Cuse, @ State, @ UVa, ND)
5. State 10-6 (UNC, Wake, Clemson, @ Duke)

So let’s say we go 3-1 with a L to Duke. Clemson would need to go 2-3 for both teams to finish 13-7. At that point we’d be 1-1 against each other. The next tie breaker would be your record vs #1 in the standings. I’m gonna assume UVa finished 1 overall (and beat Clemson). So we’d both be 0-1 vs UVa. Then it goes to whoever finishes 2nd in the standings and on down from there. Clemson is 1-0 vs Pitt. We are 0-1. If Miami finishes 2, we’re 1-1 vs Miami and Clemson is 0-1.

So we kinda need Miami to finish to 2nd since that gives us the edge over Clemson in potential tiebreakers. But we also would need to go 3-1 at minimum with one of those wins being over Clemson.

Seems like an uphill battle. Clemson has the easier schedule.

Also a wrench in all of that would be Duke winning out. They’d then be ahead of us.
