Just got my Magpul case for the 6+ and it makes a huge difference. That phone without a case is awful imo, it is really hard to grip and I always feel like it is going to fall out of my hand. The case is pretty cheap (under $20), doesn't add much bulk, gives the edges more of a square feeling, and seems to provide pretty reasonable protection.

What are some good twitter clients you guys are using? I'd like to use the official twitter app, but once you have so many new tweets, it doesn't load them all. It's so annoying to have to load them and keep scrolling down.

Ok, anyone know of a good app that can tell me what items are using my data?

I don't want just plan data info, is there anything that can tell me specifically what programs are using data the most etc?

Does iOS not have something like this built in to the settings?

They will soon. Apple is pretty good about adding in Android features 2 years later.

Yes, iOS does have something like that.

Settings -> Cellular
Scroll down and you can see which apps are allowed to use data and it shows you how much data you have used with it.

At the bottom, you can reset the statistics.

I don't know why but my screen is having difficulty keeping up with my rotations recently.

Basically i keep having to leave apps and come back in to get the screen right.

They seriously had to tout that you can draw on your apple watch and a friend can "feel" it as if you were drawing on their skin.

Sounds like grasping straws if you ask me. $400 for such a worthless piece of equipment?

^^Biggest fail of the day. At least the new Macbook is really damn good.

God the watch is terrible. 1 day battery life, a whole bunch of mediocre uses, ugly, and expensive as shit. Oh and locked to iOS.

the features and battery life of the watch would probably be fine and it would sell a ton

... if it was in the <$250 range

pricing it that high seems like they are handing android the wearable market, but who knows
(also there are rumors that Motorola is working on an app for the 360 to work with iOS)

I think not upgrading the screen resolution on the Air is laughable

If it ever becomes more widespread--I'd buy it just for the hotel features. Standing in line to checkin @ 12 AM after a long drive somewhere is my least favorite thing to do.

Granted you'd probably be able to do that with a phone too.

So the Core M is a pretty poor performer compared to even an i3. I know it's fanless but when you can get a Macbook Air with an i7 and 12+ hours of battery life an Intel Core M with less battery life for only a smaller package doesn't sound THAT great. I mean I get that it's 2 pounds but didn't Lenovo just announce a 1.76lb i5 ultrabook?

Yeah seriously. Plus the huge ugly bezels. As new laptops start to come out with little to no bezels (XPS 13) the huge ones on the Airs get less and less attractive. If they had redesigned the air, given it a higher resolution display then it would be appealing to me. The Macbook Air design is just extremely dated these days:

Yeah so this one usb port. So you need a dongle for pretty much anything other than just powering it? Want to project or hook up to a tv and power it? Need a dongle. Want to get something off a thumb drive while you're powering it? Need a dongle.

^^Depends. I guess we should differentiate between a dongle, adapter, or "y" plug thingy. Macbook Pros have HDMI ports. Airs do only have display port but a display port to HDMI adapter isn't that much of a pain.

So I'm assuming they'll just come out with a bunch of display adapters that have a power plug in too? Like a Y connector?

You're making the false assumption that there is a NEED for >i3 performance. 99% of the shit people use a laptop for doesn't need more horsepower than even an i3. Light matters, screen matters, CPU not so much anymore.

There's a big perceptual difference between Apple and Lenovo when it comes to notebooks. Lenovo is very hit and miss with respect to materials, build quality and even reliability (having used a half dozen different models in the past few years, its very unfortunate).

Will it be for everyone? Definitely not, that's why they have a RANGE of options. But it's definitely the spiritual successor to the Air, and I can't imagine anyone buying the Air over it now.

As for the ports, no ones gives a shit anymore. Regular users rarely plug anything in to a laptop. Having a dongle will solve the rare problem that someone needs to plug in a thumb drive or connect to a printer. I suspect a few folks (Belkin, etc) will come out with really nice docks for it.

More than half the people I know who own an air love it because they can Photoshop on the go with a decently powered i7. Or maybe edit together a GoPro video on vacation.

I'm not making any false assumptions. I'm saying the Core M is under powered compared to what's currently in the Airs and for what MYSELF and most people I know use laptops on the go for. I agree myself and this population might be in the minority but I never said my statement was targeted toward any particular majority, minority or even percentage whereas you're saying 99% of people wouldn't do these things which is completely incorrect.

Even the less tech savy people I Know are editing together 1080p GoPro videos and messing around in Lightroom with raw photos from point and shoots. This includes some of my friends older parents who are doing this. If they spend $1500+ on a Macbook I'm pretty sure they expect to be able to do similar things on it.

All I'm saying is for a pricey machine it's got a pretty under powered processor in it and Apple is really good at advertising their laptop's photo and video abilities which the Macbook will not excel at (looking at recent Core M benchmarks) compared to even a last generation Macbook Air.

I think mose people will assume that the Macbook will have better performance than the Air, some of those people will be disappointed

Exactly. That's all I'm saying. If they're expecting to buy the Macbook and have similar editing capabilities as an Air then they'll be disappointed.

So I'm apparently not the only one complaining about the new Macbook:

http://techcrunch.com/2015/03/10/apples-latest-betrayal/

Quote :
"To Apple’s credit the company must see a market for such a computer. The low-power Intel chipset that powers the computer likely doesn’t provide enough oomph to play computer games, but it should render GIFs just fine. This is a couch computer. It’s a Facebook and Twitter machine. It even looks like a great programming computer. Watch the Apple event yesterday. The company didn’t demonstrate any of its new software on the new MacBook including the Photos app. Simply put, the new MacBook isn’t for photo editing."

Kind of my thoughts:

Quote :
"Until then, a 13-inch MacBook Air is a better buy than the new MacBook. The battery lasts nearly as long, the computer is more powerful and it has plenty of ports. Plus, nobody has ever said that they wished their MacBook Air was just a bit thinner."

Literally everyone I see at the airport with a Macbook Air/Pro has their iPhone plugged into it for charging because they only have access to one outlet and they charge their laptop then their iPhone via their laptop.
