Not to sound like an IC homer, but that sounds like stuff we pretty much already knew about, and I guess they were punished for it as much as you might expect. I dunno.
Also, it seems like there was a ROGUE SOFTBALL PLAYER involved now 7/20/2015 12:42:03 AM |

all fairness we've pretty much already known about everything that's come out well before any news media, so it's at least interesting to see them pick it up 7/20/2015 8:56:24 AM |

Fedora backed away from the claim recruits are making that the lawyers are saying 100% football won't be touched. When asked about it on 99.9 at the football kick off he said something like if 5 different people saw a car crash and you asked them about it you'd get 5 different stories. It made no sense at all but conveyed the sense he was willing to lay blame on the recruits if football does get punished. 7/22/2015 4:41:27 AM |

So Chris Hawkins has been staying downtown at the pnc plaza. I do a lot of work there and kept riding the elevator with him. Thought he looked familiar but couldn't ever put a face with the name until I saw the article today. Last time I rode the elevator with him I made a UNC joke and he said "yea they are in a lot of trouble over there." Lol 8/31/2015 6:36:59 PM |

If they somehow win the ACC, and a couple other teams lose, is there a chance that they might actually play for the championship? 11/28/2015 8:03:58 PM |

Assuming they beat Clemson a lot would need to happen along with some odd decisions by the committee.
Gotta figure we have essentially two potential play in games with ok/okst and Iowa/msu that UNC won't jump the winner of those. I Think those winners each take a spot. Then you got tOSU in the clubhouse already with 1 loss and I don't think they would jump them.
From there prob need a Bama loss along with UF loss tonight to eliminate both of those teams, ND loss tonight, and them to not take a 2 loss Stanford. Even then a 2 loss SEC champ UF off beating 'Bama could still get in. I think they would need to throttle Clemson, get an ugly UF win over 'Bama with a UF loss tonight and ND loss tonight to then get the 4th spot behind Big10/B12/tOSU. That's a lot to have happen. 11/28/2015 8:28:34 PM |

Yes they wouldn't jump tOSU, but at this point if 'Bama were to lose, 1 and 2 would be Oklahoma + Iowa/MSU winner, 3 probably tOSU, and 4 could be UNC if they were to come out and really put it on Clemson. I don't see them keeping Iowa in if they lose to MSU, so they would jump them. If either ND or UF won tonight I didn't see a scenario that existed that they got in. However with both losing, there is a chance still. 11/28/2015 11:24:56 PM |

Even if they beat Clemson they still have a worse overall resume than them. Not that it would matter, they'd still put them one spot ahead due to the conference championship and H2H but Clemson's overall SOS + wins over ND and FSU - loss to UNC >>> UNC with a win over Clemson - loss to SCar 11/28/2015 11:35:28 PM |

So this thread went from UNC getting sanctIons to UNC playing for a National Championship? If that ain't some NC State shit right there... Not to mention I've already heard multiple announcers say this is UNC'S 2nd Coastal div championship. No mention of the fact that they weren't allowed to claim the first one due to sanctions. Recruits hear this. Those PR dollars are being spent well. Its like the NCAA never stepped foot in Chapel Hill. This thread just need to be closed. 11/29/2015 10:28:57 AM |

Not that anyone should be surprised, but the NCAA did less than nothing to a university with two decades of systemic academic fraud perpetrated to maintain player eligibility and graduation rates.
It would be nice if I could say I was surprised by this, but I'm not. I had hoped that it would be egregious enough that they'd get some kind of punishment, but nope. Carry on folks, nothing needs to change. They got rid of the several "rogue" people in various positions so it's all good now. 12/8/2015 5:50:26 PM |
