^^ Thanks!

^ Haha, love that pic... looks like she is actually focusing on something and about to type a response to it... a TWW post perhaps?

The first pic I posted is at 3.5 months, the second at 5 months!

She was born with all that black hair (South Asian father). But has white skin (Caucasian wife).

She was born in Bath, UK, which is not a cosmopolitan place like London or Birmingham. Because of that, she became literally famous among all the nurses and midwives in 3 hospitals in that region for:

1) having so much hair at birth
2) having black hair

The vast majority of babies born there are Caucasian and are therefore blond and nearly bald at birth

She is nearly 6.5 months old now. Some more pics to come soon!

BTW, my baby's hair is getting lighter now... it was jet black at birth, now it is a dark brown. You can see that in the 2 pics as well, which are 1.5 months apart. Wonder what the color will be in a year or two from now!

I wish that BabySmash or something like it would come on every time a child approaches the computer. Silas has a special skill for locating unattended computers and really screwing with things.
--

Like sd2nc's kid, I have a little one that likes to hang out in a basket. Over the past 2 weeks, Silas has been all about climbing into small spaces like baskets and storage bins.

it freaks me the fuck out when I see kids going from being born to a couple of years old for some reason.. makes me feel old as hell.

Silas is 20 months old. He'll turn 2 in January, so it's not that bad.
But I know what you mean -- try being the parents of said kid.

Christ, you all made some cute fucking kids.

I like watching them grow older. Especially theduke's...his daughter wasn't exceptionally cute as a baby, but she's fucking adorable now.

I upload pictures to our flickr website weekly so our relatives up north can see her grow up.

I'll let my daughter choose whatever college she wants to go to.

As long as it's NC State.

11 days till the due date. tuesday was a bit dramatic because i'm suddenly having fluctuations in blood pressure and getting some other mild preeclampsia symptoms. did the 24 hour urine collection and protein levels are above the acceptable limit. hopefully i'll hear back from the doc tomorrow, but this girl may get an "early" eviction.

Silas is drawing closer and closer to the terrible twos with every passing day. Less than a month to go and already practicing those tantrums.

And with that stunning endorsement, I'm considering going back to work in childcare after Christmas. Toying around with the idea of doing in home childcare so that I can keep my son with me rather than working as a nanny.

^the feeling is mutual. in fact, i'm under the strict belief that if you're about to have your first child and you THINK you're ready, you're in denial.

Part of my feeling is b/c (a) this has been the pregnancy from hell and (b) we started a home renovation about 6 months ago that isn't quite finished. We have yet to have a single baby shower (b/c wife has been in and out of hospital and is currently at home on IV therapy), so there we go.

Other than that, things are great.

i, too, am against this practice.

i can understand while they are <1 year, but after that's annoying. esp when they say 24 months. damn it your child is 2 years. just say it.

or maybe i'll use weeks or days

at least 42 hours after my water broke (started first round of induction 4 hours later, second round started 15 hours after the first round started), i finally ended up with a c section. 2 hours of pushing had shown no progress.

ends up she couldn't come out because she was nearly 9 lbs, wrapped in her cord, with her body at an angle to the pelvis and her head at another angle in the birth canal.

Tessa Marie Kuchenbrod, born 12:32 AM on December 18, 2009. 8 lbs 15 oz, 20.75 inches.
