I had some White Wolf at a brewpub in downtown Wilmington a few months back. Now every time I go to a bar I ask for it and they never have it. Is it more common in Raleigh bars? 9/25/2009 9:43:43 PM |

white wolf is mediocre at best, can't think of a single place in Raleigh that carries it on draft...Front Street is good, but check out Cape Fear Wine and Beer - great beer store that also has beer on draft for in-house consumption

Anyone had St. Bernardus? I grabbed a mix six and i'm quite pleased. Also grabbed New Belgium's Hoptober, a case of Dogfish Punkin' and a 22oz of another Weyerbacher-esque pumpkin that I forget the name of. A++
They had some random brew from N.B. as well but I totally spaced out and forgot to grab it at the end. It was some of their Lips of Faith series. 9/26/2009 5:57:54 PM |

i'm just trying this mothership wit stuff for the first time, it's pretty damn mediocre for the price--i'd rather have sam adams 9/26/2009 8:08:38 PM |

funny, I opened this thread to post that I'm drinking a Mothership Wit right now. I think it's pretty good stuff, although the bottle I'm drinking now seems significantly less spicy than I remembered it being when I had it on tap.
I had a Shocktop the other day. Too fruity. It wasn't awful or anything, but I'm in no hurry to try it again. 9/26/2009 8:42:18 PM |

maybe it's just the bottles, because it tastes pretty bland to me too 9/26/2009 8:43:51 PM |

Yeah, this bottle is more fruity and less spicy than I remember, and it was only about a month ago that I had it on tap. 9/26/2009 8:45:41 PM |

I had a glass of Stone's 09.09.09 Vertical Epic porter tonight... delicious!

Also had some Dragoon's Dry Irish Stout, which was also pretty good, but not as good as the Stone.

i can honestly say that the Shipyard pumpkin is one of the worst pumpkin beers i've ever had. i bought a six pack last year and threw 4 of them away after they sat in the fridge for a couple months. i couldn't even give them away. (just my opinion though. )
now Weyerbacher... that's another story.
