This is cool as hell, and not too bad at $50.
I already own all of these games, some I have bought 3 separate times already (Fallout 2), but I'm tempted by that just for the case. It's got room for the Fallout 4 disc also.

PC Specs released today:
Minimum: Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required) Intel Core i5-2300 2.8 GHz/AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0 GHz or equivalent 8 GB RAM 30 GB free HDD space NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or equivalent.
Recommended: Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required) Intel Core i7 4790 3.6 GHz/AMD FX-9590 4.7 GHz or equivalent 8GB RAM 30GB free HDD space NVIDIA GTX 780 3GB/AMD Radeon R9 290X 4GB or equivalent.
I'm really on the fence about how I want to play it. I don't currently have a PC that's capable, and wouldn't only be buying/building one to play this game. The $400 Xbox One Fallout 4 bundle is looking pretty tempting. I've been looking on /r/buildapc today and it's looking like it will easily be 1.5-2x as much to put together a PC decent enough to run this. I know I probably should buy a PC, but I'm having a hard enough time justifying $400 to play one game, I'm not sure I can justify twice that. 10/8/2015 6:23:48 PM |

^ And not to mention that mods are coming to consoles.
My PC specs are better than the minimum and not good as the recommended, so that means I could probably play it on Low-Medium to Medium. I'll end up getting the PC version later but for now the PS4 version is going to have to do it. 10/8/2015 7:33:20 PM |

I almost guarantee that there will be no mods that add new assets to the game for consoles (new textures, models, lighting, sounds, animations, etc). It will only be mods you can create entirely in the creation engine.
3 reasons. 1) potential effect on ratings that nude/gore/child killing mods would have, 2) potential legal issues from mods using copyrighted art and assets, 3) technical limitations of consoles means things like HD texture packs would break people's games.

I think there are mainly two kinds of people that end up modding this game. There are those that add a mod or two here and there to add to the experience and fun of the game, and there are those that get more satisfaction out of modding than they do from the game itself. I've seen people talking about a mod list of 250-300 and spending days and weeks tweaking everything just right so that each individual blade of grass looks great at 8k resolution and 200 fps or whatever. At that point, I don't think you can consider their hobby to be gaming as much as modding itself.
Which is fine and all, but if all you care about is the game and having fun with it, I'd imagine you'll get almost as much satisfaction from the mods on the console as you would on the PC.
That being said, my dumb ass just went and dropped ~$1000 on a new PC so I'll probably be able to get the authentic boob sweat mods that will inevitably come out on the PC, but not on the consoles. I guess that's something to look forward to. 10/10/2015 7:27:07 PM |

I needed to take a week off from work because I have vacation time built up, so I took off November 9-13. Told my boss I'm going to Atlanta. And I am leaving for Atlanta on Friday after work... but I'll be back by Monday afternoon, and will pretty much be playing Fallout all week other than a day trip to the Renaissance fair on Saturday. 10/12/2015 9:11:07 PM |

If I've never played a fallout game, and want to play one to get into the series before playing the new one, which should I play? New Vegas, or Fallout 3? 10/24/2015 10:55:55 AM |

I personally liked New Vegas a lot more than 3. The world just felt more alive to me in NV.
They are doing a sale over at Humble Bundle, if you didn't know, and both base games are $3.39, or $9.99 with all the DLC included.

i think i liked FO3 a little more, but i live in DC, so a lot of it probably just had to do with the location. i don't think i ever finished NV for some reason. not sure why. 10/24/2015 2:40:04 PM |

I'd say FO3. A little more classic. Also, because it's a little bit clunkier than NV, it would make FO4 seem even better by comparison from a graphics, gameplay standpoint (assuming FO4 is the shit). But both games are great. 10/24/2015 3:19:27 PM |

Lot of people think Fallout 3 does exploration better, but Fallout New Vegas has a more believable world with a better story. I massively prefer New Vegas
If you want a game where you can go almost anywhere from the very first moment and don't mind a simplistic "good vs evil" tale and a world that doesn't make sense, get Fallout 3.
If you want a more complex story with more politics, a world that seems like it could actually function, and don't mind being railroaded bit at the start of the game due to mountainous terrain and difficult enemies, pick New Vegas.

I'm of the opinion that either one of them is fine, for no particular reason.
One thing I also do recommend to go back and play Fallout 1 and 2. I would not play them first if I were you, only since most people are conditioned to modern type games, but in my opinion Fallout 2 is the best of them all. 10/25/2015 9:03:34 PM |

If you play both you might have a hard time going back to Fallout 3. Has no iron sights for one thing when aiming a gun, also you have to jump through hoops to make it run on Windows 7 and up. 10/25/2015 10:07:22 PM |

Like the setting of DC over the desert. More buildings, the metro, etc...
The game play was better in Vegas no doubt. 10/25/2015 10:10:27 PM |

I'm most curious about the survival aspect of this game, is it going to be pseudo realistic in the stuff you need to live or just kind of tacked on, or perhaps players can choose between the two modes 11/2/2015 1:13:04 AM |
