FYI- Ret paladins have even LESS of a place in raids then ench shamans.

I think you should just get a warlock or mage and stop pretending to be a half assed healer.

spec elemental. leet dps, and casters love you for ToW and WoA totems, and the healers love you for being able to help heal half decently.

with good gear (ie on par with everyone else you are raiding with) both elemental shamans and enhancement shamans can do very good, competitive damage.

Yea thats up to you. I got your IM and I'm a bit hesitant to say YAY COME ON OVAR! as its hard enough getting my RL friends who play abundant classes into raids.

If only our shaman hadn't de'd all his healing gear . There were only two in the raid last night, one after half of it.

hybrids are a necessity in making bc raids much less of a gear check. 1 feral druid, 1 enh and 1 ele shaman, a couple bm/surv hunters, and definitely a shadow priest, a ret pally if you got one with enough gear to deal quasi-decent damage. having someone to refresh all those judgements in a pally heavy raid is fuckin clutch and a half. the first time we had one I was CONSTANTLY overhealed by seal of light on just about every fight. also, in accordance with blizz tradition you need an assload of locks for about half the fights. mag, hydross, tidewalker, aran, nightbane, etc. seed of corruption is just too powerful, as is their crowd control.

there is no amount of gear present in this game that makes having a ret pally worth it....


they do terrible dps until they get geared through the eyeballs ... and when they do they hit the aggro ceiling faster than enh shamans.


dont go through the heartache of trying ot make a ret pally work

Yea pretty much ignore anything smoothcrim says as 90% of it is worthless.

Ret paladins are terrible and prot paladins are a sick joke.

Yea you can generate threat and have decent tanking stats but you'll always be at a HP disadvantage to a comparably geared warrior and lack a lot of their utility.

You'll be able to grind like a mad man though, so you can be rich.

Yea they really need to change Ret as its the lowest DPS spec of any class in the game currently.

However, that doesn't change the fact that you should be playing a pure dps class since you hate healing. Can you give a solid reason why you keep trying all these retarded off specs rather then getting a Warrior, rogue, warlock, or mage?

If I had access to an account (like Rob's maybe) I'd consider sticking on it. I dunno. It's fun to play something unique and not a cookie cutter class. Considering 6% of all 70 characters are Shamans (according to Wowcensus) I'm betting like 1/6th of those are enhancement which means I'm in a very small minority and that's cool when I can still kick ass.

Yea I can see you're enamored with the idea of being original. Even geared with the best ench gear possible, your dps is capped by your inability to shed threat effectively thats going to ultimately let every other pure dps class thats just as well geared out dps you with less effort.

Pure DPS classes will always have the most dps potential. If you get a kick out o being the cute shaman with a hammer, then hey ok. Whatever. I personally don't think spending a week looking for a group is fun

ssclark is right. This is the third version of pallytank and 2.5 version of retdps and they both still suck. Maybe one day they'll make Ret paladins a flavor of the month, but my inclination is that they'll nerf holy a lot and then buff ret a little bit and call it baked.

Just say that the next time you meet an Affliction Warlock with Improved Curse of Weakness, Cataclysm, and Improved Health Funnel. Don't confuse being unique with being stupid. That 5-man oomkin team that would moonfire-1-shot anyone was pretty funny; but I wouldn't want them in my raid.
