to the priests, this was posted by a guildmate of mine. a lvl 70 UD priest named Unforgiven.



It seems like a common theme in the priest forum is:

- healing priests are frustrated
- blizzard won't do anythign for us even though we're down on our knees begging
- our class representation is non-existent, non-communicative, not specced for healing, not helping us

So here is a new proposal. If you're going to give us nothing we can actually use, then give us nothing that we can actually use.

Power Word : Nothing
Instant Cast
10 second cooldown
The casters utters words of encouragement to the target. This ability has no effect on the target and stacks with other abilities that do nothing.

Suggested uses:


tank: "omg noob I didn't get any heals"
priest: "sorry you went down hard couldn't heal you fast enough.. so I just threw out Power Word Nothing"
tank: "so I got PWN'ed?"
priest: "pretty much"

So I finally got bored and decided to get my shaman to 70. I must say playing an elemental build is pretty fun, I was full resto at 60 forever due to that whole raiding/guild master thing. Between clearcasting, elemental mastery, nature's swiftness, and lightning overload its possible to do some pretty awesome burst dps. I'll be interested to see how much more I like it once I start building his gear a bit better.

Well I do have a hunter, good may be going a bit far, it is by far the least played of my chars and hence probably the one I am least skilled at. Although Franks did enjoy my skills, but I guess most people who play hunters that I have run across do suck pretty bad.

my team is currently #2 on the event realm for the 2v2 tournament and they're taking the top 8...although there is some cheating fiasco going on the realm and some idiots got their team up to 1900 overnight...good thing the top team is 1728 and we're 1724

I'm serious, just for curiousities sake - if you hit your /played or whatever the command is for all of your characters, alts, everything and added it up in time - would it hit a year or more of total life time sunk into this one game!

im assuming youre talking to porcha and if youre talking about the arena, it doesnt take as much time as you think. well it doesnt have to, a lot of people play more games per week than they need to, but last season a lot of the top 10 5v5 teams in my battlegroup played ~ 20 games per week after the first month or so with each game taking anywhere from 5-10 mins average i would say.

so if youre asking how much time it would take to make an event like that on its own? not NEARLY as much as you think. but do the people that do that also enjoy other aspects of hte game and put a lot of time into other stuff in game? yea they probably do. so there are 2 separate answers you might be looking for here.

ive done a ton of stuff in this game, but i only have 1 character and id say a huge chunk of my /played time is me leaving the game up even when im not playing IE the past 2 weeks ive only played like a total of 10 hours or so, but ive had the game up nearly every night while im practicing guitar, watching tv, doing chores etc to talk to some friends in game still

MMO's in general are massive time sinks though most people like myself tend to do a lot of other stuff on the computer with the game up in the background.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if my /played corresponds nicely with my machine uptime.

Its when I fuck up and volunteer for a friday night raid that the Gay really turns up.

Yeah like others said, you are right I would be scared to add up the playtime on ALL of my chars and alts, but that number can be sorta misleading. I do like others do a lot, open the game up then alt. tab out and do other things occasionally tabbing back in to see if anything is going on. With flying mounts and having a rogue its much easier to do this as well, tab in fuck around for a few minutes, then up in the air or stealth somewhere and go back to doing something else.

people that whine about paladins need to get a clue. our buffs are dispellable, our heals are easily interruptable, and paladins have no escapability at all. without the bubble paladins are pretty worthless in arenas unless the other team is incompetent enough to let them stand still and heal away.

well a bof or bop, even when getting dispelled/purged very quickly can still be HUGE. even getting a second of freedom to get out of LoS of a melee or enough of a bop to get 1 heal off can change the course of a fight. i agree that paladins arent gods but they are also not as useless as you make them out to be

there's nothing from the honor vendors that is used in any other aspect of the game ... if you're buying things for pvp then yes you should absolutely buy the trinket first regardless and you're a moron if you don't understand that.


15 stam on an item is not in anyway comparable to 20 resilience and a free out in a pinch.

I'm a paladin.

There are quite a few other trinkets I could equip besides the PVP one.

The amount of times my bubble has been mass dispelled in Arena is probably 1 out of 50 matches.

any team past 1900 rating will have your bubble dispelled nearly before your first heal goes off, definitely before your second.


there's no trinket in this game I'd wear over the pvp trinket especially as a healer, unless there was a spell haste trinket that was so absolutely godly ( none of the current spell haste trinkets fall in that boat) it would make me not miss the get out of jail free pvp trinket.

for the record im also a paladin ... I've never once gone a match without having my bubbled MD'd unless the priest died before i needed to bubble
