It is true, hunters get bitched at to no end for rolling on items that are considered to be for other classes, especially melee weapons.

at some lvl you get the trinket from a guy at the bulwark, it must be worn when you kill some undead shit out in epl/wpl/strat/scholo to get scourgestones to drop and then those are used to increase your reputation with the Argent Dawn, I'm currently about 25% revered with them, once hitting revered they give shamans/paladins a nice shield and all casters a nice staff, as for melee they hand out a mediocre sword that looks like a lightsabre, sure it was cool the first 5 times i saw it but I vendored it as soon as I got it

They can kiss my ass when I get to that point. I am leveling staves, 2H & 1H swords, daggers and most definately polearms. So they will just have to deal. I am not going to get type-casted into weapon preferences.

wtf

90% of what hunters do is shoot bows. When the hell would you ever use a damn two handed sword?

Quinn and I nearly booted this one hunter mid-instance who insisted he was going to roll on this dagger when there was a rogue in our group and the hunter hadn't used a single melee attack the entire instance.

Thing I love about hunters is that they always try ranged attack on me.

I mean seriously guys, your ranged shitty gun vs my ranged nukes, dots and healing.

Way to think that one through.

On a related note, I'm getting sick and tired of putting up with fucking priests in groups. First of all, most you think that your rarity and net value allow you to dictate the policy and startegy of agroup. Secondly, when someone dies you try and blame them for getting out of range, unecessary adds, or not hearing your oom.

ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS? ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SIT THERE AND HEAL YOU STUPID FUCK. HOW HARD IS THAT? OOM? BUY SOME FUCKING MANA POTIONS. TOO MANY ADDS? WHY THE FUCK DO YOU THINK WE NEEDED YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE!? IF WE DIDN'T GET UNECESSARY ADDS, WE WOULDN'T NEED HEALING.

Fuck that, and fuck you. We just raped ZF with two shamans, a drood, a 'lock and warrior.

I'm never begging a priest to get in group again until we start running end game shit.

Although "just sitting there and healing" sounds easy, it really isnt. Here are some reasons why:

1. Aggro/Adds: Do you know how much armor I have at level 48? 600. 1000 armor and about 2000 hitpoints if I have fortitude and inner fire cast. When a level 50 elite monster starts bashing on me, more like 3 or 4 if the group pulls that many, I can die in about 5 or 6 hits. It's everyone else's responsibility to either sheep, taunt, or whatever to keep any monsters away from me if you want the rest of the group to stay alive through the fight.

2. Many people being hit at once: It's pretty easy, aside from the aggro/threat, to heal one tank. However lots of times when groups do shitty pulls, the warrior is being hit by two, the mage is being attacked, and an AoE from a monster is bringing everyone else's health down. This means I have to sit there and monitor everyone's health at once, decide usually within 2 or 3 seconds which person is in more immediate danger of dying and more of a priority, and send a flash heal to them. Any longer and I risk someone dying and then the rest of the group being wiped. Lots of times I also have to repeatedly flash heal someone who is taking the brunt of the aggro and then also worry about someone else, like a mage or warlock, who has a monster pulled onto them. Combine that with reason #1.

3. Range/oom: To reduce threat, it's necessary for me to stay as far back as possible. I usually try to get in a position before a pull where people can stay within range and not get out of sight (like behind a pillar or something). I also will announce beforehand that people need to not go behind "object x" like a pillar or such so I won't have to worry about running around trying to get everyone in my LoS for a heal. Oh, and I don't have unlimited mana, so if you pull to hard of shit and you all get wiped it's not my fault.

Add to these three things the fact that it is also my responsibility to cast dispel magic on anyone (usually each person in the entire group for things like sonic burst) and cure disease, and keep up power word fortitude.

Basically, my job isn't as easy as it sounds.

sounds like you group with shitty people. no class is that hard to play in a raid setting or in a 5man if you arent an idiot. you've got your role, so stick to it. accidents or pathing issues or bad luck can happen causing extra pulls and the like, but your group should be able to function fine.

i play pickup groups/raids almost exclusively and have few issues. sure stupid people do stupid things, but they usually dont last too long in the group or you can correct the issue within the group (such has changing ur MT/MA). if you all die, you shoulda brought a warlock or shaman or something...thats what they are there for. if it happens repeatedly, find a new group with people you know are not stupid. if it continues to happen...it is probably you, sell ur account on ebay.

While you may play with shitty priests, I've never once encountered a Warlock who had an in-game IQ of more than 5. The hardest part about being a priest is finding a group that doesn't suck ass.

On the chain of "shit that needs to be healed" Warlocks are bottom level. I'll never waste my mana healing one.

I think one of the problems you see in pickup groups in WoW is that many people playing the game have not played a mmorpg before. I have been shocked at how many times I have had to explain what oom and lom mean. Many people simply do not get the concept of how a group works and that especially is shown in some pick up groups you get into in early instances.

A lot of priests in WoW do seem to have attitude problems however. Combine this with the fact that almost every single priest is going the route of speccing Shadow Priest up to 50-60 and then respeccing to Holy. A lot of people are playing priests solely because they hear they are good in pvp so they either do not want to heal at all or are really shitty healers. News flash, if you get invited to a group as a priest people want you to be their healbot.

If I am going to run an instance I make sure that I am fully stocked on Mana Potions and some sort of Drink. In a properly functioning group running out of mana should very rarely be an issue as long as the priest has time inbetween pulls to drink. There are few situations where a priest should be responsible for downtime of the group.

In my opinion the job of the priest is not to keep every single group member alive 100% of the time, the priest's role is to make sure the instance run goes well. Every member of the group is responsible for a wipe, not just the priest. If I have the choice between keeping the main tank healed or repeatedly flash healing a dumbass mage who is AoEing everything in sight then I am going to keep the main tank alive and res the mage after the pull is done.

Finally, <3 Shamans and Paladins that know what they are doing.

Maybe it's just the way I play hunter. I use traps (well, just immolation trap) and pull it to me and hack it to pieces with my melee weapon while my wolf chews on it. I refuse to let someone say "You use bows, that's all you can lot on". Bite me. Plus, I use my 2h sword all the time. Then again, I got it from a quest. But like I said, we'll see when I get up there. Now, if we are doing something specifically for a weapon for someone, then it's all theirs, but if it is a random drop from something then it is fair game for those who will actually use it.

you may use your melee when you solo but if i catch a hunter meleeing while in an instance i'll kick him out

a hunter meleeing is similar to a rogue standing outside of the fight and shooting his/her gun

Okay, as long as we are in agreeance that there is a difference between instances and solo play. I understand my role as a ranged attacker (besides I don't like taking damage anyways in a party). I just don't want some ass telling me what weapons I can or can't skill up on thus lot on.

Gronke, I'm not gonna read a god damn thing you write. I've observed you personally aggro an entire cave jumping around and being a dumbass on three occassions, one when I was in your group. You've got to be one of the worst healers I've ever played with which wouldn't be so bad if you didn't constantly QQ. Stick to PVP and killing things, thats where you excel.

Stein, thanks for the input. However, I'm sure you can agree that a shitty priest will be a bigger pain in the ass then a shitty warlock. Especially vs bosses.

but then their to hit is like 50%

i suppose if played right it could be ubar cc.

Are all of the secondary skill (cooking, fishing, first aid) artisan quests bugged???

I have heard a lot of people talking about how they do the artisan cooking quest and still couldn't level past 225 because of a bug but I am not sure if the happens on the other secondary skills as well...

Not really, mainly because priests as a whole don't try to over extend themselves in groups. They're generally in as the healer and know it. That's their sole job.

Warlocks, on the other hand, generally seem to try to fill a role that's either already taken care of or over extend themselves and pull aggro.

from what I understand, when you complete the quest you need to immediately make something that gives you a skill up (226) before you leave the area. I'm not sure if the bug always is in effect though.

Stein-

I don't see how thats possible. All we do would be to sit back and curse/attack targets the group is attacking. The only way we can get increased aggro is by doing a bad AOE, purposely pulling extra targets, or not having proper control of our pet.

Priests on the other hand, gain aggro by healing, then waste the remainder of their mana trying to fend off offenders.

Its easier to fuck up as a priest, and many people do but you really have to try and be an idiot as a warlock (fear in a cave for instance, which I've done actually =( ).

Not to mention, with the primary healer dead, everyone gets fucked over. Nobody bats an eye for the warlock that got his dumbass killed.

our guild Purge on Shattered Hand (Alliance) took down Lucifron Saturday night in MC. It was our first MC raid with 40 people all in-guild and we wiped only once on Luci. GG. After a few more goes at Luci (for tranq shot) (her respawn is only 22hrs, not 7days since she's a "sub-boss"), we're moving on to Magmadar. Wish us luck

Well there's the problem right there.

You're playing with shitty priests and shitty warriors. In a decent group, a priest won't get attack for more than about 2 seconds.

How did you 40+ guys earn your lewts to afford your mounts? I am about to ding 35 and I am having trouble amassing the needed funds. I am not looking for a get rich quick scheme or anything, just curious as to what you all did. I have been grinding it out for the past 5 levels. No quests, just killing and selling the junk/items. I have been skimpy on my skills so as to not waste money.

If you can skin the dragons in southern dustwallow are great to grind on. They drop money, 1-2 pieces of vendor trash, items and skin for thick/heavy leather and worn dragonscales. Also run SM over and over again. Rock elementals in the Badlands are decent as well.

Core of Earth off the rock elementals in the badlands sells for like 1-5 gold depending on how desperate someone is.

However it's about a 1% drop.

Seriously though, just kill rock elementals right outside Kargath to the East for like 4 levels, then head south and kill the greater rock elementals. You'll have your mount money in no time.

If soulshards stacked 10 deep or they got rid of that asstastic system then warlocks would be teh dominant pvp castor class.

Since neither will happen, I'll continue being an EE student and a warlock.

Thank you sir, can I have another?
