I've got 11 quests saved up for turn in on my 45 hunter since they said that you will gain more exp from quests as well as require less exp to level.

well I did some 2v2 arena for the first time last night on my priest who is all PvE gear. 0 Reslience, 6500 HP buffed. +1700 healing. I did it with a ele shammy.

Owned some face and lost bad on some. Won 5, lost 5. Beat a lot of warlocks and beat several warrior/pally teams. Got our faces bashed in against a Feral Druid/Warlock and kited around like idiots by two frost mages. Besides that, had fun. Going to buy some Arena 1 gear with my honor points today and start getting some pvp gear.

elemental shamen are complete shit in 2v2 unless it's a double dps team, much like a destruction lock. if you went with a warrior, I bet you'd do a lot better. you should be able to get to 1700 or so without res though, just work on your strats. don't forget you have mind control either

So I have a question.

I'm in a raiding guild that is just content with Kara and is somewhat moving towards 25 mans... We are slowly getting into Gruul's now. I hate it. I read you guys talking about the higher 25 mans and I really want to get there.

What's my best bet to getting into a decent raiding guild? I am willing to Xfer servers and I am able to MT Kara with my gear (mostly kara gear). Or should I just keep going with this slow guild and probably not clear SSC before Wrath of Lich King.

WotLK will likely not be out till around this time next year.

I'd say your best bet is to analyze how much time you are willing to commit to raiding. Once you've done that, look on your realm's forum on the WoW website forums, theres usually a list of guilds websites and how far they are in PvE progression. Find a guild who raids at times you are willing to raid at. Then, post a well thought out application (mix of seriousness and bullshit) showing youre a serious player (but also really chill as a person and easy to get along with), and then whisper officers and the guild master and talk with them a bit if they aren't busy. Guilds want people who show they are serious about the game, and committed to joining their guild.

there are plenty of guilds that are entering higher raids on any given server. You might find trouble getting into one now with 2.3 because of Zul'aman coming out.

The jump from 10 man to 25 mans is pretty steep for a guild, I jumped ship when my guild wasn't making any progress into Gruul's...I still don't think they have, actually >_> despite running 2 karazhan groups on speed clear. The time requirement for 25 mans depends on the guild, for a tank your presence at raid time is more necessary than a random DPS, and if you can't make times you'll eventually get shifted over in favor of more dedicated raiders. This happened to me when I wasn't able to make the T-W-H raid times in a SSC guild consistently.

If you make your application say that you're an intelligent person, then you should have no problem.

I would get some ZA/s3 gear first, then transfer. ZA/s3 gear is on par (even for pve) with t5/t6, often better. Yes, it's bullshit, and the only incentive to do raiding content these days is to see it, not because you want good gear.

don't forget heroic gear, a few weeks of ZA/Karazhan clears and you have T5 or T6 gear, w/e equivalent the new stuff is.

not to mention daily heroics and what not adding on the gear and you'll have new pieces streaming in

Ok I am getting this "Lost Internet Connection!" error message whenever the blizzard downloader tries to run.

According to the WoW forums, it's not an uncommon problem, and the only suggestion that has worked for people is to reboot into SafeMode with Networking. I tried that with no luck, so I was wondering if any of you would have any other insights that may help.

^^ see i dont really see how we've ruined the game. those who want to raid can still raid. The only interference I can even think of is a smaller pool for quality raiders. For me, instance grinding ruined the game.

i raided like it was a 2nd full time job in the original release...and it was fun to me for a long time because I had never played an MMO before. By the time Naxx hit, I was starting to get worn out (just lucky it was a neat instance design). Leveling refreshed the game for a bit but after ssc and during TK I was sick of raiding again :/

among many problems with raiding is the possibility that you do not get rewarded at all for your time spent. I cannot tell you how many times I ran AQ40 and killed c'thun (as many times as anyone in here-months and months). And the ONLY item I really really wanted never dropped for me while I was in a raid..and I think I missed 2 C'thun kills from the time he was downed on our server until BC. Im sure many of you have seen this before. Running an instance over and over and over for months and seeing none or one of an item drop when multiple people deserve it.

When the object of the game (raiding) is to get new loot, you mainly only want 1 item in the game, and you kill a boss every week for 6 months and dont get it, you cant expect someone to have fun and enjoy raiding.

**something I would like to see**
everyone in the raid getting armor tokens (not like they are now, more like honor badges) for boss kills. it costs x amount of tokens to buy Tier set armor from a vendor. This rewards the people who make every raid the most, but also doesnt shut out those who raid less frequently. If someone gets in 2 raids a week and youre using DKP or officer assigned, they wont see Tier loot for a long long time. With this system, theyll still earn the gear, just slower. This would also allow you to pick the item you want (certain items would cost more like shoulders, chest etc).

The bosses loot tables would then be focused on weapons, accessories, and offset items only.

yeah my PuG on the ptr got hung up on that. You have to grab the first THREE elites. 1 Warriors tanks those three, a druid/another warrior brings the two elites coming up from the back to the front, and ANOTHER tank or maybe just AoE down the bird all together with the elites. AND THEN MOVE.

I totally agree, one of the things I hate most about this patch even though it does get me keyed for everything I wasnt yet on every char. You can hit honored with most factions after running an instance like once. Hell you never have to run SH, SV, SL again. Now you will have people coming into heroics asking what this boss does because they have never done this instance before...
