all you guys rerolling characters and taking them to 70 says alot about just how OVER this game is. Ever thought about trying another video game instead of grinding yourself silly? Ya know, its been 3 years and all...

i dont see your point, kainen. seems like if someone wants to make another character even after doing it all before, that would show it has replayability and overall depth. how does that show its over?

Because after 3 years and months upon months of net time you guys put in the game grinding ad infitium does nothing for you. World of Warcraft falls into a special category of time wasting activity, because it is like masturbation for those STILL playing the game. Those idiots who are unable to get sex from women often find masturbation and pornography to be better substitutes than nothing at all. World of Warcraft provides a similar fix for men who are unable to get status in the real world.

In the real world, people generally start out with the idea that they will advance and increase their status. But then they discover that it's not so easy to increase one's status in the real world. This is where World of Warcraft comes in - your status increases slowly but surely every time you play. After so many hours in the game, you can see exactly how many more experience points you have, maybe your level has increased, maybe you have better armor or weapons than you had before. Unlike the real world, where you can work 40 hours of overtime and not even get paid for it, if you put an extra 40 hours into WoW you will definitely have something to show for it. All for jack assery on the other end of the tunnel 5 years from now when you've realized you've effectively taken 8 years of your life to devote to a singular video game.

^^as opposed to posting in a thread about that game or playing another game...do you honestly care how people decide to spend their free time? though i won't disagree with the fact that WoW = enormous time sink

p.s. sorry if i'm just feeding the trolls

Wow, the game is still fun to me and even if it is a sink it keeps me from blowing the money that I make in the real world on other games that do the same damn thing.

I either go out, get drunk, spend 20-40$ in beer, come home pass out, and be hung over

or i could stay home, save 20-40$, play my character, go to bed, get up, be productive

I usually just play during the week and raid. Weekends I go out.

This game is only a time sink if you want it to be. Yeah i feel good when i play but I still have a social life, I still have a girl friend and I still have fun playing a well polished video game.

it's the second thing that you said that indicates that you're not really done

when having "3 70 epic'd out characters." doesn't mean a fucking thing to you

then you'll be done

I'm still on my one and only character, a 70 paladin. Been playing for 2 years now, and still not bored with it yet. Paladin class has changed so tremendously since I first got the game. My interest does wane at times, but there's always something new to bring me back. I've never been a hardcore raider, so that probably has a lot to do with it.

nah he means he's never felt better since leaving the game man.
he just put in the characters levels to show how much time he spent wasted in game.

very few ever really quit

I quit for a year, then came back with a different mindset and I've had a better time with it.

When it consumes your life, WoW is bad. When it's just something to do to fill the boredom hours between work and actually having something to do.. its fun.

I know it aint a big deal to a lot in here, but killed magtheridon on our first night tonight, think we had 3 wipes. One to a dumbass who right clicked before we were setup, one to someone forgetting to click a cube, and one with clicking and the 30% cave in at the same time. Just held off dps the next time to ensure we didnt have to deal with both and we were golden. Shitty loot at least for me, but a fun fight.

2 hour wait.. ROFL

come to Ruin ... I'm on Skullcrusher. We use preform AV enabler. Takes about 10 minutes to get going and most of that is trying to get everyone on the same BG.

Here is how my night of BGs went.... Join group, enter BG, obliterate allies, get 750+ honor in 13-18 minutes, re-queue, do again.

20k honor tonight!

You can laugh at PVE all you want but in honesty raid encounters are much harder than a good chunk of the "real life" pvp encounters because those people suck. Also if I was a total PVE junkie I would be in a guild in BT/Hyjal, but I am not because while I do enjoy that aspect of the game, I dont enough to make it a job. I raid maybe 2 nights a week and the rest of my time I spend doing random shit or pvping.

i think that'd be pretty awesome

they could make such an item so that's it's so completely rare that 1 person a year might find it.

i mean shit, the pair of orange swords that drop off illidan are overpowered as hell, and like 10-20 people have those already.

Stats for Frostmourne as a World of Warcraft item were shown during the Lore Panel at BlizzCon 2007.

The developers said they were "still working the fine details" and that the Equip effect was "shot down by various powers-that-be" (illustrating the potential problem with a screenshot of the new Lich King, Private Ownusohard). However, they closed with "we'll get something to you guys, we promise"."
