We were just running Scarlet Monastery, but we were going WAY too quickly and ended up aggroing a shitload more mobs than we planned on. So 4 of us die, run back to the instance......and the mobs are standing right fucking there. It kills me before I can even see it after the load screen. The second time I went back, I couldn't enter the instance, then.....connection dropped by server.

herbalism is a definate money maker. im engineering and alchemy (used to be mining, but i hate going out of my way to pick up resources) and ill pay a decent amount for that stuff, just know the market.

All the high level herbs, gromsblood, mountain silversage, dreamfoil, ghost mushroom, golden samsam, all go for incredibly high amounts on the auction house (like 2-3 gold for around 5 of them). The problem is that they are only found in 55+ elite areas like the plaguelands, blasted lands, or burning steppes...so good luck.

sometims even the AH is stupid. like normally thorium on skullcrusher is like 5-8g a stack, but one day they were all 15 or higher. so, unlike a dumbass, i said fuck it and waited 12 hours and got a stack for 5.5g. in that case you coulda sold for 10 right away while other ppl let their auctions rot cuz most ppl arent stupid.

^^^ eq had slightly laggy servers (note i was on a 56k) and that was only for first few months. after that it was perfect except for (relatively) rare server downages that would last 30mins-all day. considering wow goes down all morning every tuesday for maintenance id hope for more.

to be fair they have the one in gadget. i dont know about ur servers but NO ONE uses it. probably cuz gadget is good and all for about a lvl range of anyone doing tanaris -> ungoro (45-55?), but after that its just a crappy place to be.

while i agree having every capital city having an AH that links to one central database would be nice it wont help the situation mostly. as an alliance why would i EVER be in darnassus, it is far as hell from everywhere compared to IF. SW isn't as big of a deal, but it still isnt a great place to be as a higher lvl character with lots of gold. IF is great, 2 griphon flights from strat and scholo. 1 and a short walk to brd, brs, mc. no where is all that close to DM, mauradan, etc but IF isn't any farther away. we hang out there for a reason and its the same reason meeting stones are useless.

i've never played a horde character past 14 or so, but im sure its the same way.

1) EQ had more downtimes than WOW does when it first started.
2) EQ had these downtime FAR into several subsequent expansion releases.
3) WOW gives you CREDIT for play time when server downtime happens. Read the forums and the updates.

WOW is doing pretty damn good at fixing shit as well as giving compensation for downtime. When EQ went down it was "oh darn", when WoW goes down "Here's two free days of play".

I'm impressed.

here's 2 free days of play which is almost nothing compared to the convenience issue of days i want to play.

i played eq for the first 2 years it was out. it had downtimes, but was nothing compared to what we are experiencing. it was also one of the firsts of its kind/magnitude. mmo's and huge online gaming in general has been around for a long time.

i like wow and all, but the server issues are beyond reasonable.

The down time is rediculous but nowhere near as bad as the lacking endgame content, not yet implemented PVP system, slightly missbalanced classes and general bugs that only get addressed with the once every 5 months content patches.

yeah, i havent played in 3-4 days now, which is saying something when you are used to playing every day for least an hour or two. truthfully, im kinda bored but dont feel the need to play.

class balance, as you basically say, isnt terrible, but there are a few issues. ppl say that eq2 sucked cuz it had no pvp elements, but the only real pvp elements in this game you get most of the time is getting raped by a bored lvl 60 while leveling, or raping noobs when ur 60. there are some shining moments but more often than not it is rape the weak and then get zerged.

if BG comes out soon and patches become more frequent I'd be happy, but I don't see it happening as they probably have to shift a lot of resources to realm stability issues right now.

nod, i just want BG, can be a bitch to find a decent pvp encounter. DAOC bg's werent perfect, but at least you know you could go and usually find some ppl to play with and against. right now you might be able to find some horde, but are gonna be outnumbered, or the other way around. that isnt fun.

most ppl doing scholo id say 57+. the reason you cant find a group is cuz it takes FOREVER and the drops arent that great. at least everyone has a chance at a chest piece in UBRS, but 3+ hours for a hat when there are plenty of awesome headgear just sux ass.

beyond that i havent seen that many great drops, like the weapons arent as good as the Rend drops. so in short, it takes as long as UBRS but has shittier drops and if the quests arent able to be done by dropping raid group while kiling (i havent tried any lately), then there is even less reason to go (Penelope's rose).

scholo is usually 60 only, ill take a 58-59 if theyre a healer

and if you're < lvl 40 rogue, turn back now, too many rogues at lvl 60 and not enough uses
