maybe im just not getting something but you can have 10 characters on every server, why would you need a second account? what do you get thats worth the extra 15 a month?

some people want to have an opposing faction account on the same server...note I don't think its worth it. But its kept me from getting ganked when guildies hopped on their horde guy and told them to quit being douchebags or knows people.

^It is only set up that way on PvP servers. There are SO many reasons not to allow it anyways.

Imagine if there was a same faction guy that annoyed you so you stalked him on your other character.

Or you were ganked by some person and you log onto a lvl 1 alt of the opposite faction so that you could /who him to figure out where he was so you could forever camp him.

Some people are either addicted enough or enjoy playing by themselves enough that it's worth it to them. Generally it's because they want to play multiple characters at once, so having two accounts lets them solo that much more, or pvp on two or more characters at once.

There are some people who take it to extremes. For instance, one guy plays five accounts at once--four mages and a healer--and does pvp that way. He has macro controllers set up so that the mages all target the same person and load up the same nuke, so he can basically focus fire and one-shot people.

joined a new guild and the first night I'm in said guild, we down FLK, Leo and Vashj. One-shotting Vashj made me because my last guild couldn't even 1-shot Lurker.

I think at most i've had access to was 5. there was a period where I was paying for a warrior, my own rogue, azaka's rogue and then had the login/pass to a mage and druid.

I have two accounts because one was supposed to be for my girlfriend. She got a priest to level 10 and called it quits. I started leveling alts there and running myself through things. It is very nice when transferring items horde <--> alliance.

I'm a total noob. I've been playing about two weeks now and I have a lvl 26 belf warlock and a lvl 8 undead priest that I rolled yesterday. I'm really digging my warlock but unfortunately I rolled on a low pop rp server, which seemed like a good idea for learning how to play, but I'm frustrated that there are hardly any people available for PuGs. Still not frustrated enough to pay for a transfer yet, though. It'll probably be better if I join a guild or something.

the first time i played it was on an RP server by recommendation of my coworker and his wife. I ended up having a pretty decked out rogue stuck in the realm of PvE. Luckily, on Kirin Tor a large percentage of the alliance side never RP'd , but it was still frustrating to be 'confined' like that.

If you joined a guild, they would make you go through a really strange initiation ceremony...people on RP servers are weird . You're still low, so you can easily just reroll on a new server and get back to 26 in no time now that you have a better idea what's going on.

I had(have) a level 40-something warlock. I get the urge to play every now and again, but then I realize that I'd rather watch porn/not pay for an account. Also, all of my friends who have accounts are level 70's, therefore, no fun leveling by myself (they all leveled together).

Crazy how quickly that server went from hardcore progression to a giant steaming pile of shit (although it was hardly surprising). I can attest to the fact that RP wasn't very prevalent on the Alliance side during the heyday of KT...and the segment of the population that *did* RP seemed to do a pretty good job of keeping all of the chatshitters and their Chuck Norris jokes out of the trade channel (although their *RP* posts on the realm forums were usually pretty fucking atrocious). Who knows what the fuck goes on there anymore though...the bits and pieces of info that I hear don't speak very highly of the realm (although it's usually a pretty fucking amusing anecdote or two). I don't miss that server at all...but the stories and memories are priceless. I'm sure that a collection of tales from KT could make for a pretty fucking entertaining read.

I think that the lesson here isn't so much a blight against RP realms, as it is a testament to the fact that being stuck on a PVE realm of any kind -- particularly with a geared out toon -- really, really sucks.

i still check on new armor models every once in awhile, and for warriors, nothing trumps the conquerors set still imo. S3 gladiator looks pretty cool with the full suit. But conq with HWL axe or Dark Edge looked sick on an orc.

i've also got a shadow priest on the same server...not quite as geared since its not my mine. he's in frozen shadow weave and mostly kara epics.
