So, came back for the summer ( >_> ) and started raiding with a high end guild that runs 2 25 man teams. Turns out they have like 5 other prot paladins in the guild, and a ton of tanks, and basically makes me useless. Went on a raid to SSC tonight with a douche at the raid helm that had 6 tanks, and he didn't realize some of us were tanks at all. Had one try on Hydross which was an epic wipe and I left the raid. I had to eat dinner with my family but no way in hell am I going back.

Kinda want to join a new guild, since I paid for three months and I don't want the time to go unused.

I'm a little surprised. I would of thought there would of been a bit of a dropoff a few months after the introduction of Burning Crusade (January 16, 2007)

ive been playing my roommates game on my roommates account for the past few monthes, he's moving out and id like to continue playing

so should i

a: buy his game and account

b: buy my own game and account and start over

i like my character but im not totally against starting over. he's gonna sell me his game for 30 and then i would take over his acoount i guess (since i cant start my own account on his game). is it feasible to take over his account, what if i need help or tech support and theyre like "ok, mr. [roommate's last name] whats the last four of your social security number?" also isnt this frowned upon by blizzard? would they deactivate my account? which is the better option?

buy his account for $30 if he is going to quit.

if his character is 70 (or close to 70) doing dailies will boost your $texas or if he has alot of gold already then just play the AH and get more.


speaking of which anyone have any tips on making fat cash on the AH?

i've been buying outlands metal bars at like 80% or lower (in auctioneer) and selling them later when the AH isn't flooded with them. Also been turning leather into armor kits.

ive been playing since feb or so and my character is higher level than his, i dont think he ever really got into it

and yes auction house tips are a good idea as ive also just recently been using it, as a skinner do stacks of leathers sell well?

also what professions do you guys think bring in the most money?

All my low level characters either mining/herbalism and skinning.

I would do mining and herbalism, but you can only have one tracker open at once. Cartographer helps a little, but its still a pain so I just do one of them and skinning. There's no need really to do much else when you can just get armor/gear upgrades from quests/instances.

Herbalism is a HUGE moneymaker for me right now... I make about 300g an hour doing it. I go throughout Hellfire Penn. getting Felweed and the occasional, but often Fel Lotus (which brings in 20-25g each). People want Fel Lotus for raiding flasks

In order to take over an account you need to have the answers to his secret questions and you'll have to get the billing in your name (you pay $15 a month). There's a process but its definitely frowned upon by Blizzard. I'd search google on how to do it safely, because if you're caught then your account gets the ban hammer. (your characters are banned and you can never play them again)

i have my friends account, all the billing is in my name and even the email, but there is no way to change the original account holder's name.

Blizz wouldn't even do it for me.

has anyone else been having any issues with major lag the past few days? I thought it was just me but everyone in NC in my guild is having the same issues. Getting massive lag spikes which eventually starts to cause me to d/c every 10 sec or so after logging in. It is only affecting WoW that I can tell at this point. Vent and all my internet seems to be working perfect, speed tests turned up nothing abnormal and I am getting good pings to speedtest servers. Having to cancel raids due to this is getting very annoying very quickly.

Well, if raiding isn't your thing, try this.

Flying mount + Terokkar Forest + high level ming skill = obscene quantities of Adamantite, Fel Iron, and sometimes Khorium. Smelt into bars and wait for the AH to be cleared out. On Doomhammer, back before I built my epic flying helicopter, a stack of Adamantite would go for between 40g-50g. It's not a lot, but it adds up fast when you mine.

Start at Shattrath and fly clockwise around the perimeter of the zone. If you have the Gatherer addon, it'll help you to know exactly where to look once you start finding nodes. (On the other hand, you can probably just download a pre-plotted map file and put it in Gatherer.) Make sure you go all the way through Skettis, as Rich Adamantite Veins pop there fairly commonly in 3 places. You can also sometimes find a really short escort quest which is easy money. With a non-epic mount, it takes about a 45 minutes to go all the way around the zone and hit any nodes you find. With an epic mount, you can fly the whole zone twice in less time than that. It's a super easy flight, covers less area than Bladespire Mountains, and I've always had significantly more success gathering ore in Terokkar.

I have herb/alch on my NE spriest. Epic flying mount + find herbs = $texas
Farming the trees in skettis fucking owns. Like 3-5 motes of life per skin, and usually 4-6 herbs. Just gotta be able to solo them or bring a buddy. Also, if you're a high pop server, try going during the off hours while everyone's sleeping or peak raiding days/times when people are busy.

On my BE priest though, I went tailor/enchanter, ONLY because I had some horde friends that were transferring to the server I was rerolling on take some of my gold with them. So I was a level 1 with 2k gold I would never level enchanting without a cashcow handy. Come to think of it, I probably wouldnt level anything without gold. I'd probably stoop to buying gold

Pretty much any gathering profession will get you money on the AH. If you're a rogue though, you've got it made being able to stealth Mana Tombs... it's retarded how much gold they make doing that crap.

And even though they're time consuming, doing dailies never hurts. I do Sunwell dailies and make like 110g a run. Then the Ogrilla ones are pretty easy. And the netherwing dailies are that bad with a buddy. For both my 70s I've found it much easier to borrow the gold for the epic flyer and grind it back. Being able to do the netherwing dailies + covering ground a hell of a lot faster = more $texas / hour.

I never really play the AH too much. I try to avoid it. I have a bad spending habit

So my new guild put in several attempts at Kael last night. They downed him in February, but the core of the guild left (minus officers) and we have rebuilt big time. We 1-shotted Vashj AGAIN on Wednesday night and were somewhat confident going into Kael last night.

Well, it went pretty shitty. The best we got was 91% on Kael (phase 4). I'm not sure what's going on. Phase 1 was a joke, they all went down really fast. Phase two took us a little because the axe tank couldn't pick it up before it killed a healer almost every time. Then we had a prot pally tanking all the others and me and another prot warrior would pull either the staff or the shield off of him. I'm thinking our issue was dps because we got into Phase 3 with 1 or 2 weps out and then got phase 4 with 2 adds still out (The guy who 'gazes' and the tanknspank one).

What got your guild over the Kael hump?

We have been killing Kalecgos for almost a month now, but haven't really been able to put in much time on Brutallus because of fuckers quitting the game after we give them 4pc T6. I can assure you it doesn't get worthwhile until RoS in BT and even then its kinda lame. sunwell is cool but it requires a lot of gear, even if your whole squad is pro and a half, so you have to play all the shits forever
