I'm doing work this week.

Alliance:
70 Druid (ZA/BT/KZ gear)
70 Rogue (Shitty gear)
61 Warlock (grinding to ~68)
61 Warrior (grinding to ~68)

I'm trying to decide which one to make my main. While I like being somewhat needed for raids to heal, I'm looking for a change of pace. I think I might make the warlock my main for a while. Warriors are tough to gear up quickly. You have to either go through all the progression and earn your gear slowly, or get carried there by an awesome guild. A gimpy warrior is of no use to anyone. That makes me sad, since I love to tank.

Its my alliance shaman. Its kind of funny, I was in this other guild for under two weeks prior, so much emo screaming and drama. They had their first illidan kill and then I gquit. Took no loot from them so they cant be too upset. New guild thought I was undergeared (which I am, horribly) but I still performed well in SWP without ever seeing that and with little explanation. My best moment was I never caused any wipes haha. KJ is def fun, minus the blinding white light from the sunwell after he's dead. It was late and it made my eyes BURN.

Hooray for seeing content before new content comes out!

nah I havent played beta at all, in fact Ive probably seen like 10 SS total and hardly read anything. I did keep up on my class and tree changes because thats still kind of ingrained in me But outside of that I am very out of the loop on wotlk.

I also need a new computer before I play the game but am not in a position to buy one yet. My laptop processor and memory are way more than I need to play the game but my video card is terrrrible and half the fun of leveling is getting to experience the environments imo. A big highlight of my experience leveling when BC came out was stepping into new zones I had hardly ever seen before (I stayed away from a good chunk of screenshots and videos) and being able to handle it on max settings when its new adds a lot of fun. (Zangarmarsh was absolutely stunning and memorizing with the music on and all the atmospheric effects imo)

they really did. The zones felt alive but also the amount of people in them. For me it normally wasnt too much (to the point where it took too long to do quests) but enough to really get into some fun world pvp along the way

You know what's really fun? I stopped playing back in Februrary. When I logged in this week I find my level 70 toon . . . in Southshore . . . in the Inn. Normally that wouldn't be too surprising, but I was horde

I forgot that I left him there. I just wanted to see if they would allow me to logout there . . . obviously I could. Thats a strange point to leave on, but it made for a hearty surprise.

WoTLK is a completely different game then anything else in wow..

Highlights from beta:

The Good:

-Phased questing system makes lore relevant as the game world changes for you, and you only, as you progress through a quest chain. This is most apparent in doing the DK questlines.

-Dynamic shadows make a huge difference in how armor works and how the game looks. My gear now looks way better, but everything in Northerend especially looks awesome. I really like the artwork on the new gear sets as well, a lot more gritty and medieval, a lot less cartoony and sci fi.

-Dalaran is an actual city. You no longer get armor from some dude standing in an instance for no reason. You go to the armor shop. Same with trinkets, weapons etc. I'm not going to even get into all the magic eye candy going on, suffice it to say this is the only city I actually wanted to walk around and explore.

-Ice Crown Citadel. I can't really explain this. You just have to roll up to it and get owned by its sheer size. This instance better be insane hard to do this art justice.

-Instances: They are simply jaw dropping. The sheer detail thats gone into the 5 man dungeons is quite admirable. I also loved the the fact that bosses all have a unique twist to them. They aren't hard, but they sure are interesting.

-Lore integrated heavily in instances and even Raids. Unlike TBC, which didn't really bother explaining to you why you killed Illidan, what the fuck Hyjal was about, or why Vashj was trying to drain the outlands of water, WOTLK integrates storylines with raids very well. Storm Peaks pick up where titan lore left off (Remember Uldaman?), Ahn Kahat continues old God lore, and lets not forget Malygos, which is a raid encounter that has dynamics that have never been attempted in wow raids before (sup hover boards). The exception is Nax. That instance still sucks.

-Zombie event. Because suicide bombing the AH never got old.

The Suck:

PVP- If this is what you want, warhammer is -----> that way. Wintergrasp is supposedly really fun, but I'm a healer and you don't auto group in that zone so thats an effective 'fuck that' for me. Killing faction leaders also nets you a pretty desirable reward in the form of a black war bear mount, but there really isn't that much more in my opinion. Granted, a ton of pvp only guilds have sprung up these last few months and they'll thrive in northrend but the game still isn't really pvp oriented. At least the servers don't crash when 4 40 man raids filled with level 70's try to take down a level 83 faction leader.

Naxx- Hated this instance in vanilla and it really hasn't gotten better. At least its quick, comparatively, if you have a non suck raid.

My final take:

If you're an avid wow hobbyist you'll love this expansion pack.

I still have 207 badges that I won't be able to get rid of. My leveling set is 5/8 t6 feral with badge gear and all epic gems. I am going to slap on whatever agi enchants I can find but I am not too concerned. Tonight is going to suck because the Gamestop I am reserved at is outside (unlike last time when I reserved at Crabtree Mall) and it is likely to be raining. Ugh.
