ya it was, anyone else on here in the charlotte/mooresville area or ever go up there thursday nights?
4/15/2012 7:54:14 PM
GUILTY AS CHARGED!!!!Spun all over the place, as usual, but i trapped my highest ever, 85.11, iirc. fastest of the night was a 9.0x, and I had an absolute blast even so. Wish the guy with the SRT10 Ram had some more seat time, it would have been fun to have raced him all night
4/15/2012 8:05:03 PM
Thought you had a run in the 8's, the first one against the bmw. That was actually my buddy, he said afterwards he got to the line and saw the diesel truck and though he had it won, then he got waxed. Definitely would have liked to see you run against the srt10 a few more times.
4/15/2012 8:42:31 PM
man, the boards are shit down there for some reason, and they randomly flop the speed/ET display, so that was probably my 9.0x@85 run. Dude made me proud launching that beamer hard! brb....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixrcea9WZ1g[Edited on April 15, 2012 at 10:11 PM. Reason : -]

Good video, all the videos we took non of them had a good shot of him launching. He just got some mickey thompson radials put on it that day. If your gunna be up there next week i'de love to take a look at the truck and shoot the shit, ive had 3 cummins through the years, sold em all but have the itch for another one.
4/16/2012 8:02:43 PM
^i'll pm you if we go.What does he have done to the beamer?
4/16/2012 8:32:35 PM
He has a m52 2.8L swap in it converted to obd1. He weighed it over the weekend and without driver was under 2500lbs. A turbo is in its future but hes got to sell his jetski first to fund it. Quick car for what it is, trying to break into the 8's before the turbo though.
4/17/2012 6:53:28 PM
sweet deal, if i EVER get some slicks I should be dipping toward 8.2x or lower. Had an 8.6x last fall, hoping to cut my 60's from an average of 2.3 down to 1.8-1.9 range
4/17/2012 7:29:10 PM
4/19/2012 11:28:53 PM
^getting there
4/20/2012 8:13:49 AM
So...I might be taking an '05 F250 with the Powerstroke in trade for my Z06. I don't really want it, but I think it's worth a little more than my 'Vette, and I think there will be a broader market for it.
4/29/2012 10:01:06 PM
^not really a fan of the 6.0 PSD's, but so long as you are in it for the $$$$, sweet.

^^^ make sure you get a chip that can disable the EGR valve (the cause of massive engine failure in the 6.0). I like mine a lot though.

I need some parts for a cummins truck, intercooler boots actually, what is a good place to order?
5/27/2012 5:00:21 PM
nevermind
5/27/2012 7:44:39 PM
for future ref:- Source Automotive sells a nice kit (running that on my truck)- Pure Diesel Power sells the Source Auto kit, plus a few moreFWIW, PDP's website is a good reference for cummins replacement parts, etc.

It's not actually primer black.. it's just covered with diesel soot
6/7/2012 10:03:05 AM
Yeah i've seen the cumstang before... i actually think it's been posted before.
6/7/2012 10:06:56 AM
If i had one, i'd call it "MustCum" instead

blower feeds big turbo, big feeds small turbo; there's a bypass valve on the inlet of the big turbo (that's why there's a second air filter) that allows the turbos to draw more air than the blower is pushing under certain operating conditions.
6/20/2012 7:36:45 AM
how much pwr? won't the big turbo's flow be choked in the little one? I really feel like he's going to over rev the little turbo.
6/21/2012 8:01:57 AM
truck hasnt been dyno'd; apparrently it makes 1psi at idle and hits 80psi maxas for the turbo arrangement.... that's a conventional compound turbo setup. usually it's the turbine housings not selected properly that causes issue with tuning, not the compressor sides.small turbo comp inducer usually runs 54mm (stock 12V) to 66mm, and big turbo usually 66mm (towing twins) up to 95mmjust like any centrifugal pump setup where one feeds the other you can imagine the difference in flow maps with the various combinations - usually a smaller secondary paired with a larger primary gives the most broad powerband
6/21/2012 8:30:20 AM
cool good to know... i guess since you are compressing it to 80 psi everything changes in the lb/hr even though cfm my be limited.
6/21/2012 9:20:55 AM
correct - it's all about increasing the total mass flow rate through engine
6/21/2012 10:04:28 AM
sweet jesus...
6/21/2012 10:35:33 AM
i know not everyone's a diesel gearhead, but some of the stuff that's getting churned out nowadays is eppicccc.with that said, a roots blower on a cummins is a helluva noisemaker
6/21/2012 11:01:01 AM
like... in the scene..... or actual dB from the exhaust?
6/21/2012 11:02:10 AM
scene? as in like people taking notice at an event - or scene as in 'engine bay'?basically, you will not be having conversations with the passenger type of noise (there should be a link in this thread to one)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Okn7MTZ0OWAthat was one if the same guy's first iterationsTo be honest, wtih no firewall insulation and a 5" stack behind the back glass on my truck, any driving condition save for downhill coasting requires yelling to the passenger[Edited on June 21, 2012 at 11:23 AM. soot on your dick, eh? truck's not that impressive when I get to 100mph in the 1/8th, then i'll start swinging e-dick[Edited on July 27, 2012 at 9:21 AM. Reason : -]

the short bed cummins is pretty damned nice without any of the rest
7/27/2012 2:24:37 PM
man it feels good to be able to drive my toy on a regular basis again! saw 60mph indicated in 2nd gear last night should be ~3460rpm, cant wait till i adjust my gov springs to pull past 4000 - That's going to be a BLAST
8/1/2012 7:57:45 AM
the Lung looks better than I expected it to with those wheels. I mustve blocked out the memories of how small those tires were on my green truck

ok... injectors rated by hp50hp injectors means?? what? its not a flow rate so... no comprende'
9/28/2012 3:19:17 PM
...easier for the masses to understand as an "amount of power over stock". I have no idea what the CR injectors aremine... 5x.014" orifii, +0.010" pintle lift, 280Bar pop-pressure ... 'industry' rating is ~140hp. iirc my stock injectors were 5x0.009", something like 240Bar pop (shooting in the dark)http://competitiondiesel.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88662[Edited on September 28, 2012 at 3:23 PM.
