Yeah, I wish I stayed with you guys, but I completely lost interest when I moved and summer rolled around. Which let my character rot, didn't build the gear and increase value and ended up only getting 100 bucks for it. I'm pretty much bored again after I ran all the heroics as prot and went through Naxx again. Druid is almost 80, so I'll finally learn to play a healing class after 5 years and then I'm sure I'll quit again and sell off my current accounts.

The horde ahead of us xferred off or disbanded, and none of the other alliance besides VQ got immortal, which wowjutsu doesn't really weigh for anything and even then we were still horde 3 before all that went on.

You should actually use wowprogress anyway. Though that too still lists DW, Celerity and CE as being on cho'gall when they aren't.

So yes, server #2, horde #1, and a high pop server.

Sup Smoothcrim, where's you at?

Finally got my red proto drake over the weekend. The carolina blue one was getting old fast.

We are going for immortal/undying (whichever the 10 man one is) this week.

I've got a dilemma right now. I'm an extremely casual player, I don't really have time for raids, hell I play so inconsistently that I haven't joined a guild because I don't feel like I could be relied on.

My only real goal in the game right now is getting the Leading the Cavalry and Ambassador achievements. My warlock just hit 70 and I'm debating whether or not I should even bother getting WotLK and going to Northrend.

On the one hand, more levels and easier-to-get gold would make getting those mounts a lot easier, on the other hand there's a ton of Outland that I haven't even seen yet. I get ganked every so often but for the most part 80's avoid it (and even if I was 80 'locks aren't that effective for PVP atm, so I've almost given up and become a free HK).

EDIT: OH, here's my character http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Scilla&n=Nuswar . He's backed by a very well dressed auction house mule named Fordinner.
If my only current goals are getting 50 mounts and getting old-world rep, is WotLK worth my time yet? At this point the only upcoming thing I think I might enjoy is the Argent Tournament.

there are maybe 2 zones in bc worth playing for the scenary alone and that's zangar and nagrand. there are also a lot of mounts you do not have access to outside of the xpac. honestly, I do not know what you could enjoy about rep farming as your main activity in the game, but to each his own. I would buy wotlk and play it at the pace you play now. the scenery and content relevance to the end game content is orders of magnitude better than anything in wow unless you go back to the dire maul, mc, bwl, and black rock spire quests. once you're 80, I'd probly do all the 5 mans a couple times, do naxx once, and quit.

I don't really do instances. I'm not good at grouping or playing well with others, that's one of the reason the Warlock class appeals to me so much, I'm my own group.

The few instances I have gone in have all been old-world stuff that I've done solo. The only real reason for me to get to 80 would be so I could go back and solo some raid content.

I tend to play in 15-30 minute spurts here and there, it doesn't lend itself towards grouping (10 minutes to get a group together, 45-1hour in the dungeon assuming no trouble).

^^ its true. My normal group(s) are doing 15-25 minute clears in all but 1 heroic. (occulus can go to hell). It takes longer if we are breaking in a new tank, but otherwise is chain pull, kill boss, loot badge, chain pull etc.

outside of getting some gear before the first week of raiding and trying forever (like 20 tries) to get my trinket from heroic UP, I haven't done any heroics or regular dungeons. I /might/ goto strat and get the free mount but that's about it. the gear in naxx is so much better and often easier to get.

i used badges for offsets, and BoA items for alt (leveling shaman, hammer, shoulders, trinkets, and probably dagger for when he needs an offhand at 40).

the BoE blues that zone drop in heroics go for 100-350g on my server, 50-70 for the orbs, so heroics are free money, fast rep, working on red-proto drake.

One of my friends has been playing my paladin using a Scroll of Resurrection or w/e...that trial renewal thing. The paladin is on my account.

He wants to buy the paladin and merge it with his account. The last names on the two accounts don't match. Do you guys know how to go about this?

I used to, protection paladin and shadow priest both up to Tier 5 content, both of which were very fun Stopped at the end of last summer since it was taking up so much time, my raiding guild wasn't going anywhere, and none of my friends played anymore.

Yeah, my friend doesn't want to have to pay two subscriptions.

Apparently there is one way to do it. He found is that some guy called customer support and said that he got married and was taking his wife's name, so he was able to change the last name. Doing that you could then trade a character.

can anyone comment first hand on ulduar difficulty? I read a blue that said it wouldn't be much harder than naxx. Now while I'm not interested in beating my head against the wall for weeks in a gear check fight (twin emps) I'd be happy to see at least a few mongoloid checks (vashj) but nothing as hard as pre-nerf muru. I don't play enough to have a guild with a low enough mongoloid quotient to make a fight like pre-nerf muru tolerable to learn.

What I took away from the blue posts via mmo-champion.com was that Ulduar itself wouldn't be substantially harder itself but doing the 25man achievements would be the difficult aspect.

Quote :
"Ulduar - Difficulty
We had to fix some problems, and very rapid mana regeneration was one of them. Another big one was amazing tank cooldowns (mostly from the DK). However we stepped up the difficulty on the encounters too. There is no “just burn him down” boss like Noth. The trash will require crowd control on some pulls. Ulduar is not Sunwell. It is not a huge leap up in difficulty from Naxx, but it is a step up. If that isn’t enough of a challenge for you, then I suggest you try the hard modes and pay a visit to Algalon. (Source)

Healers
They should not be running out of mana in Ulduar if they play well. In Naxx you can do things like stand in fires, overheal like mad, bring players in green gear to get geared up, or not even explain the fights to pugs because you can brute force your way through them. One the mechanics that allows you to brute force is having so much mana regen. Now all of that is appropriate for the first raid tier. Things will start to get a little more difficult now, and a lot more difficult if you want to do the hardest fights. Naxx = play bad and win. Ulduar = play good and win. (Source)

Ulduar - Hard Modes
Hard modes are designed to give very skilled groups something to do while still allowing more casual groups to see the content. Ulduar has 14 bosses. We haven't done an instance of that size since the original Naxxramas, and Ulduar has a lot more unique content than Naxx had. You are imagining a world in which if we had not done hard modes, you would have gotten another entire raid. That is a bad assumption. You would have gotten Ulduar, cleared it quickly, and then been bored again.

Yes, we know players given the choice will always want more content. If we offered 6 levels of raid content, there are still players who would clear it quickly and be looking for something new. Welcome to the challenges of MMO design. (Source)"

Now... I know a lot of you hardcore gamers might think this is petty, but my casual raiding guild FINALLY did a 1-night clear of all 25 man content... 25 Eoe, OS+3 and Naxx....

Not to mention we only had 1 death in Naxx.... kinda pisses me off too. It was on Instructor R.... our priests are so fail at that.. we ALWAYS have someone die.

my guild is so full of fail on 25s....

Our last patch 25s was..

Lock (GM): 5300
DK (me): 5290 (i loose to that bastard by 2-150 on every fight, driving me up a wall)
DK: 5100
Warrior :4900
Hunter :4800
Priest: 4700
Mage: 3600 :
and then the rest (tanks around the 2.2k mark) were between 1800 and 2800.

I actually flipped my lid on that one and started cussing them out on vent.

We can do everything on 10s fine, even if we split up our best heals/tanks/dps into 3 groups we can sweep all of 10 man naxx/maly/OS no drake. If we take the right 10 people we do 2 drake (working on 3 drake, but that's being a pita.

Last week we tried 1 drake 25s. I was doing an average for 18% of the raid damage pre-wipe(including hitting 1mil damage before tene died in 1 attempt, a full 1200 dps more then our other 4 dks combined.) Out top 3 dps were doing 40% of the raid damage

They're associated with players, I think. Some quest or something gives you a ghost stalker that appears behind you and follows you occasionally.

Yeah, me too. I feel like the game peaked a good while ago...in the US, anyway. Blizzard is just going to ride WoW 'till the wheels fall off...just in time for them to release their new MMORPG and set record subscription rates.
