yeah the patch end notes do say tuesday, but they said there was no official release date yet. they are gonna release it when it has been thoroughly tested and done relatively right.

i really think honor is nothing compared to battlegrounds

those sound very very cool

honor will just be for the higher 50-60 lvls, they will easily be ranked higher because you get more honor for killing higher levels

battlegrounds really make getting honor more fair

^ id say a priest is far from the easiest target to gank 1v1. group pvp wont matter, but i had someone chasing me down in my 30's with my priest and they just couldnt touch me cuz of fear + sheild + rejuv.

u horde or alliance? im alliance so lotta ppl are undead, i still make them use WotF so if someone else rolls by or i keep um busy long enough i have it as an option, but i try not to rely on it.

always nice to use the ole fear and bandage method.

you get them by killing lower lvl NPCS not players. even then you can kill them all day long and have no penalty. they said they'd only institute one if it became a problem.

edit: they had to do it this way because: 1) ganking is a part of the pvp experience, and 2) it would be very hard to prevent a group of low lvls ganging up one 1 lvl 60 and giving him dishonor if he fought back. there are ways to work around that but they are all kinda half assed. the system is meant to encourage GOOD pvp, not discourage gay pvp.

It's really very simple concept.

1) You are lvl 60. If you attack someone lower than 5 levels beneath you and they have not attacked you or your group... then you get dishonorable points. Otherwise you get bonus points depending on their level vs yours.

2) The moment ANYONE attacks you, if you win you CANNOT get negative points for killing that person no matter their level.

3) You do not get positive points for anyone under 5 levels beneath you.

Walla there is your working system. It encourages pvp of near level classes and discourages high level vs low level pvping.

If you want to institute a penalty just make it so every lowbie one kills without provocation you lose 10% armor. That shit will stop fast. However I like the fact that I can kill lowbies when they are mining my minerals.

I also think they should mark all of the higher level zones (45+) as no negative point zones. Just my thoughts.

As it stands now, you will get a "dishonorable kill" but no actual penalty. You are only rewarded for "good" kills.

hah, so I log on right, and I join in a JUICE raid group to go to TM to do some raiding.

I can't even land without dying, 100s of alliance already in Tarren Mill. Lag is so bad that I have to revive at spirit healer, and THEN my corpse appears (while I'm alive). I say, "Man, I bet the servers will shut down in like 10 seconds", and what do you know: SERVER SHUTDOWN IN 15 MINUTES.

So far, the patch has sucked ass.

Oh, and they did nerf holy nova a bit, now it has a 1 min cooldown, instead of 10 seconds

But they gave holy fire a 15 second cooldown, which rocks.

Holy/Disc for the win.

I am approaching an impass. My hunter is level 51 on Medivh and I know that raids are appealing once you are 60, but I am getting an itch to do some PvP. I have my warlock on Stormscale, but I am in an amazing guild on Medivh. Blah. Also, I respeced to Marksmenship and I am loving the results. Boo to anyone who says that hunters suck.

they have their problems, but i think no class is THAT terrible in this game despite all the whiners. the fact that ppl want to pvp the best no matter what is what causes these issues.

like hunters are fine in group pvp and have some really nice skills to prevent runners and the like, but in solo pvp they get raped by a lot of classes cuz of the deadzone. i mean if u cant get out of melee or get a caster with lots of instas out of ur deadzone ur kinda screwed solo.

I can sort of understand how they nerfed/balanced holy nova. No one was ever speccing the whole way in the holy tree at all (I mean no one, I never found anyone in it ever)... and now the fact that I have an instant cast heal is REALLY useful, which also does AoE damage, with no threat whatsoever... despite the 1 minute cooldown, which I can understand. Otherwise in PVP raids I would just be spamming holy nova over and over to heal buddies and damage opponents.
