check your char on the armory. if you didnt have an authenticator on the account, someone probly hacked it.

Yeah I just tried to log on to my bnet account and its asking for an authenticator. Never added one of those.

Both of my machines run regular 'deep' virus and spyware scans so I am pretty confident I don't have a trojan or anything feeding passwords.

This is recent too since I was in the SC2 beta and logged in and played that a few days before it ended last month.

oh well, my email account isn't compromised but I just changed the password to be safe. Once I get access back I will add my own authenticator.

I got hacked sometime last year. I regularly run avg and spybot s&d. What the keyloggers are using now are javascripts to get your password.

Got my account back.

All of my characters are ok save my one level 80 shaman.

All her gear save trinkets and jewelry are gone and her inventory is full of herbs from low level areas. They had her parked in the swamp of sorrows when they got booted.

anyways. passwords now have upper, lower, number, and punctuation in it and i have an authenticator. Could have been worse.

So i just reactivated my account. I played through TBC and i went to download the full client including wotlk but i needed a cd for that. Can i download through TBC (since my account is upgraded to that level) without the actual discs?

i havent played WoW in almost 2 years and still get emails daily from "blizzard" about account support, account verification, account fraud, Cataclysm Beta...they're all just scammers...I don't know what happened to my account but I wish they'd leave my email alone

what's the general build for leveling a warlock from 70? I have gear to match any build but i haven't really read up much on the new talents/abilities. I just respecced Affliction and have been rocking the felhunter but if theres some magical ability / spec i can go in a few levels to make it easier that would be great.

Affliction with siphon life will make leveling easier.

Go destruction when you are ready to party though.

Affliction or Demonology are the best specs to level from 70 to 80.

Affliction with Haunt and Siphon Life + Life Tap means never ever having to stop killing mobs. You can even drain tank or very slowly use Voidwalker to tank the easier group quests. Borean Tundra starting out is a royal bitch with Affliction though, all the mobs are immune to fear and some are immune to life drain.

Demonology = Felguard = can solo any group [5] quest the game throws at you. You also suck less in instances and lets face it with the new Dungeon Tool you should be doing a ton of them. Also, if you're on a pvp server you're not quite the paper doll affliction or destruction is.

Destruction is good for instances, not so good for grinding out quests. It doesn't suck, it just doesn't shine like Affliction or Demo.

funny you should mention this. i have a warlock at 70 right now ive been leveling over the past couple weeks. I'm currently demo right now and have been since 10.

im running several heirloom items and otherwise have just normal gear from questing/instancing. I'm able to solo most elite quests, and multi-mob pulls are no problem especially with meta and the fel domination to instantly summon a new pet if mine falls (i can typically handle pulls of 5-6 mobs by popping just meta and spamming immolation aura + shadow cleave, HS if i get low on hp, death coil a mob for effectively a free HS). I'm not planning on going any other route until 80 when it becomes mostly a group play game.

Demo then. When you hit 80 switch to destro for instances/beginning raiding. When you get good gear go back to demo or affliction.

Pay the gold and get dual talent specialization and try two and see which works best.

So how the fuck did I miss Real-ID and does Blizzard actually think they can require you to post from it on their forums? If they don't scrap it then the forums are sure to die (if they weren't a cesspool already). It kind of sounds like some guy was stoned in a meeting one day and with paranoia in full force went "what if...just hear me out man...what if..." with those big animated cartoon eyes ($).($)

the wow forums are filled with useless information, crying about everything in the game that doesn't favor them, and trolling. I find it sad people actually enjoy doing this stuff. Oh no doubt. I'm just saying you're going to lose valuable threads/conversations/posts along with the trash -- be it for the greater good or not. There are plenty of non-trolls that simply won't be strong-armed into putting their shit out there like that. Granted, at this point I'm sure you merely need a bit of willpower and some social prowess to associate a character/realm with a real-ID but to just have it out there in the wild to be scraped/crawled/archived and googled would make me feel so -- I don't know 'over-exposed'?

Getting very tired of this game... finally.

My fury warrior has killed every possible boss in Wrath (minus 25 HM Halion)
My hunter has done 10 HM LK and is 10/12 HM 25 ICC (we actually created an alt guild on the server and our alt guild is 4th place on server -- that pissed off a lot of people)
My DK got carried thru an alt guild's 10/12 HM ICC and got uber geared.

Not much fun anymore...

Need a new game. Not sure I'm going to play Cata

When I started back up on Blackrock it was with a very small group of friends with whom I had raided with in the past. So the guild bank wasn't really a concern. That was, until someone got hacked yesterday and they swiped 4 months of enchanting mats, a slew of bags, cloth and glyph books. Ugh.

Yes, you can. The subscriptions and wow accounts are still separate. When you log into wow a window pops up asking which wow account you want to sign into.

I played WoW for maybe 6 months after it came out then quit (no time). I just downloaded it and did the trial -> full upgrade. I had the account ~4 days and my account got banned/suspended. Apparently someone hacked my account and spammed advertisements, etc.

Is this a normal occurrence in WoW nowadays? I mean, i've never had an account hacked in anything, let alone in 4 days in an MMORPG.

To top it off, Blizzard is being non-responsive to my inquiries.

I would probably care more if I wasn't just level 5, but if this is the "experience" they want to give people, I am guessing they don't have many new clients come to play
