I've got the update on my laptop and am now waiting as it installs on the desktop. I think I'll waste some time checking out the Hunter talent trees.

Ugh, warlock changes are weird.

And taking away my 3% hit talent and changing hit gems to blue. For shame Blizzard. I've spent over 1000 gold glyphing and regemming, and I haven't even started reforging yet.

not sure how the other tanking classes are faring, but they seem to have totally fucked warrior threat up. druid/mage dps is WAY up so the runs were actually going faster (heroics), but they were instantly pulling aggro off of me, even they guy i was focusing on. most of the time they weren't waiting long enough for me to establish aggro, but even when they waited (i asked them to) as soon as dps started i'd lose mobs.

^^Dude, I can't even tell with the stock UI. I ran about 6 heroics last night and it seemed like DK's were pulling off me nonstop but it wasn't until the last one I ran that I found all of the useful interface stuff.

How does Vengeance even work? It seems like every time I got hit it changed up or down, the tooltip doesn't say there is a duration but sometimes in the middle of a fight it would just wear off even when I was taking damage. I 3 man'd the ICC 10 trash up to Marrowgar and never hit max Vengeance.

Losing Deep Wounds and Damage Shield doesn't seem like its made up for in threat numbers by Blood and Thunder. Sure it's a guaranteed dot but it can't stack and does so little damage. I need to get that Tclap range glyph again.

And I don't get the point of Impending Victory, Victory Rush does less damage than Devastate so what is the point in even have that?

yeah i haven't messed with victory rush. losing deep wounds and damage shield blows. aoe targets would just snap right to me before, now i'm lucky to keep one on me while trying to run down the ones dps peeled off.

I didn't seem to have THAT much trouble, but it was noticeable.

What do you think about the new Cleave/HS? I'm not really a fan. It's not on the GCD so it's hard to line up so I just end up spamming like I used to but watching my rage bar more carefully.

honestly, i didn't really have time to try and work those in. i was pretty rage starved and spent pretty much every fight just trying to get initial aggro. the dps was so ridiculous from the moonkin and the mage that every pull only lasted a handful of seconds anyway so it didn't really matter. hell they probably could have done the whole thing without me, especially if i was replaced by more ridiculous dps.

Yeah I used to 'tank' heroics as fury because I could easily dps down the mobs so fast it didn't even matter. Fury since the patch seems off, all the WoL's I've seen have the warriors at the bottom of the list even ones geared to the teeth with Shadowmourne are barely above the tanks.

I just reforged all my tanking gear and lost 6% avoidance to gain 11.8% block and crit block via mastery just to see how it does. SandSanta was saying my damage in heroics wasn't nearly as spikey as it used to be so I wonder if this will help that anymore. Either way I want to take more steady damage for better rage generation.

What's your ilvl in the character panel? Mine's 280 even though I don't have that many 277 items.

Tank threat was an issue through beta and on PTR (it was also recently buffed across the board iirc).

For the average faceroller, I imagine the first few weeks of this patch & again when cata drops are going to be a blood bath. Pulls are not going to be the free threat & aoe orgy they once were except in cases where dps is strong enough to overwhelm the mobs/boss.

Frankly, I'm just happy to have 5 bags like everyone else now

I'm one of those geared to the teeth warriors with shadowmorne, used to do 20k on saurfang and wrecked face..... last night, I was stretched to pull 11k in VoA 25 that my guild ran. Tonight we do ICC 25 and it will be pathetic.

THEY KILLED WARRIOR DPS! Every log I look at is like this...

Mage ....... 29k DPS
Lock ......... 28k DPS
Boomkin .... 24k DPS
DK............. 22k DPS

oh my item level is only 233. still, i had absolutely no problems tanking any heroic prior to the patch. haven't gotten into much of the raiding content yet.

i might tinker with shifting some dodge into mastery and see what happens.

Yeah but they've stated that they're not real concerned with how it plays at 80 on this expansion. I'm not defending them, I'm just saying I could see why they don't care as much as how it will play at level cap in Cataclysm.

Bought all nine of the raw ametrines on my server's auction house at 75g/ea Monday night and reposted them for 695ea. Sold every damn one within 10 minutes of the servers coming online

Tanking isn't as rough as I first thought it would be mostly because people are blasting the bajeesus out of things. Granted I haven't done something like H HoR where people can still go squish but we'll see how it goes.

Have you guys tanked a heroic with a moonkin? All they have to do it spam moonfire and they do like 15k tps with 12k dps to a single target. It's retarded.

Everything on Warriors seemed scaled down too far. It might be right at 85 but it's pretty shitty right now. Rend ticks for 250-300, Tclap hits for 800? There's no snap aoe aggro anymore. The only way I've been able to do it is to have one shitty pull and save up stacks of Thunderstruck then on the next pull, Charge, Shockwave, Rend, Tclap, Cleave, and then so a tab rotation working in Cleaves when I have the rage. Making sure to save up Thunderstruck stacks for the next pull.

The good thing is that things die so quickly and healers are understanding so when my Hammer of the Righteous, Consecrate (lol) and Holy Wrath fails to hold everything it isn't too bad. I do think it will get better/easier when everything isn't just AoEed down (so they say) and I can focus on building threat better and Inquisition at 81 looks like it will help. Right now I just Shield (Bash) the highest hp target or toss that weird heal we have now.

Balance Druid. Moonkin Form is a talent that lets you turn into a spell blasting machine. Sometimes referred to as a Boomchicken.

Holy balls Drain soul was ticking (ticking!) for 80k last night!

Also, Soul Burn: Seed of Corruption, Jinx and Soul Swap are fun as shit.

Once I reforged every bit of spirit and crit to haste/mastery I feel slightly overpowered.

Just had a hilarious thing happen.

We were doing Heroic BQL with a bunch of old raiders, so we were going in for a fun fail run without much optimization. We were about to wipe due to some dumb ppl, so I got MCed. At the end it was me + BQL vs my felguard. For some reason, I was healing him for more than BQL and I could hurt him for. It lasted about 1 minute until he finally fell.

I love glitchy new patch stuff.

Ha, you say they just "broke" it, but it was broken on patch day. BIS geared locks who re-gemmed/re-enchanted/reforged were getting 100K+ crits. Its still broke, just in the opposite direction .

Haha, I know a little more than one might think since I've been playing one (albeit mostly PvE - casual until Cataclysm). Ventured a few times into BGs for some pew pew.

I suppose it was more the post than the actual statement. I read it as "ZOMG it was like pet all over me with stun then something purple from above then deadz". Demo is rather beastly, but everything does depend on the pet giving time to do your stuff. Still fairly easy to overwhelm with multiple targets, and still depends on long casts to do anything mentioned.

Yeah, and there is very little chance of Demo taking you from 100%-0% in a second if you had any sort of PvP gear on, let alone decent raid gear.

Shadow priests, on the other hand, having the ability to DoT you up then run away to cause an army of death to chase their targets seems more ridiculous to me.

again as our resident pvp expert, you should probably just defer to me. Demo locks are devastating currently.


if you didnt get your junk handed to you by the last demo lock you faced, ti was because that kid was a badasaurus. demo locks can absolutely 100-0 you as quickly as a frost mage , plus they have more utility, equal cc and a pet that brostorms. Just because the pubbies didnt know what they were doing doesn't mean the best locks in this game dont embarrass people with demo.

I'd rank it Demo locks > Spriests/frostmage > moonkin > destro lock > arcane mage.


with all 6 of those being VASTLY superior to anything else in the game currently. sure a warr can 100-0 you in a throwdown, but he'll never get to any of those casters. Ele shamans are doing ok in pve with fulmination, but i dont really see a situation where getting 9 stacks against someone who's competent will ever happen unless they change the mechanic

if i had to pick the one thing blizzard does will ... other than sucking billions of dollars from the world annually, it would absolutely be cinematic trailers.

they're all fucking amazing. the first trailer where the tauren fights the bear got me to play wow in the first place lol.

the only 2 to ever have come close would be the warhammer trailer and the TOR - hope trailer.

went shadow on my priest in holy pvp gear. Face melting is back. I mean the faces were just falling off before they even touched me. It was great.

Got my warlock alt and went demo. It does seem sweet but no pvp gear on him and i got rolled a few times. I'm also a badasuarus at playing him.

my pally is 70, i wonder if i can get him to 80 before the halloween event ends. have close to full rested bonus on him + the heirloom chest.

also, anyone know if you have the level 70 HH items from 2 years ago can you still get the level 80 variants now? or do you have to delete the old ones first?

I am still 4/5 sanctified and still don't have a DFO, let a lone a heroic DFO. I did see a heroic go to someone who already had the regular though. That was awesome.

I've given up hope and will just wait for whatever green trinket from Cata that will be awesome.

Also giving demo and destro a try in the runs tonight. Demo is a lot of cooldowns but I've been practicing in BC heroics (going for raven mount and white hawkstrider solo )
