^^^ Sadly I have been in many UBRS pickup groups where I felt like Leroy was one of the members.

yeah time to sell the account

My friend (lvl 60 mage) sold his for $700, hoping my druid can pull that much.

This game had so much potential, but they fucked over small guilds by requiring 40 man raids to get anywhere in the end game without offering offical guild alliances. DAoC had a much better set-up because you really didn't need items to be competitive, you just needed PvP experience points.

Item sets ruined the game, so did bop/boe imo. As far as immersion goes, nothing out there is better. The game was incredible lvl 1-59.

you're retarded if you whore points. it's not worth it at all imo.

why didn't you kill baron/shazz after garr? only 2 lava pack pulls to get them BOTH, takes another 30m to an hour for 2 more bosses, then you can do gol/sulf/major next night and on to rag.

Right, because when you've been on 10 raids and the thing you really want drops you want to lose the fucker that just hit 60 and it on his first MC run....

Points are good, they make things fair. If you can't make it to enough runs to get enough points to get what you want why should you get something over someone who has been there everytime?

It worked in DAoC.

Like I said before, I blame item sets.

If you've ran MC 10 times and haven't recieved anything, you should probobly re-evaulate how your spending your time.

we arnt getting the drops for my class for me to even spend my points. plus in our system it does pay to whore points.

we finished garr at 1am, to many people had to dip out to continue.

I think it all depends on what you want out of the game, really.

For me, gaming is social. I see my playing time--whether in a MMORPG or around a tabletop with dice and record sheets--as a chance to spend time with other folks (either RL friends or friends that I've made through the game). It's a chance to have fun. I've got a group of people that I raid with and go on lowbie groups with, and for me that's a good time. Exploring an instance or a locale that I've never been to before is a good time. Hell, mowing down the horde-side Chinese farmers in Azshara is fun for me too (especially when I have other Horde cheering me on as I do it). If I get a bomb-ass piece of gear out of the raid, that to me is the cherry on the sundae.

Guilds are overrated really, half of the people are just in it for the ride to suck as much free stuff as they can out of the other members.

Been there done that in EQ. Hardcore gaming sucks your life away. When i quit EQ i had 377 days played. Over 4 years, 1/4 of it was spent playing that game.

But... i did pay for my college education and all of debt by selling shit and my character.

I have a question for you Wow players. I play EQ2 and in it quests are the best and worst parts of the game. Best because they're fun to do, give you gear, etc. Worst because once you have guildies that are higher level, they've already done quests you're just now starting, so you feel like you'll never catch up enough to actually play with them until you've reached the highest level and need each other then for the quests. So there's not much interaction in the meantime. Is there something on WoW that prevents exclusion due to this sort of problem?

is there any pvp in EQ2? yes i know i could search but im at work and im only takin a second to post here. ive PVPed in large groups (by far not the largest PVP groups ive seen but..) of say about 25 with levels ranging from 30-60 all fighting together. i dono ive def felt there was more interaction than i expecting b/w players of diff levels...esp once you get above 40. 40-60lvl PVP groups of 20-30 ppl are pretty common in tarren mill area

ncsutiger: Not really. Pretty much all MMORPG's i've seen have level based questing, and almost always you'll have some people in guild that play 16 hours a day and stay ahead of you. WoW sorta solves this problem by making it really easy to hit max level, but then you don't have much else to do and it gets boring. I'd say if you are having trouble finding people for quests just join another guild of people more your level or join random groups and make friends around your level that way.

Get in a guild with people at your level. You can quest together.

It's also nice for it to have a fair amount of sixties. They can let you hold a dollar when you need it.

WoW flows a lot gbetter than EQ2. It's easier to do things, help friends of different levels, and enjoy yourself.

EQ2 is very narrow in what you can do.Coming from someone who played EQ for 4 years EQ2 was like taking a wild animal and putting them in a 4x4 foot cage. It sucks ass.

In WoW you can help people if a monster is kicking the shit out of them. You can get experience even with a 30 level difference. It's very very tiny but there is. There seems to be always foward progress and the fact that there is no single class that is depended on until the late 60 zones.

Need a healer? Shaman Druid or Priest will do fine.

In WoW even the most casual player can get leet gear. It's much more relaxed than EQ and then if you decide to see the end game you CAN. But it's fun regardless.

The PVP makes the game rock even more. It adds a level of skill to the game that EQ lacked even on the pvp servers. WoW took all the good parts of EQ and added more to it.

not super leet MC gear, but the set items and drops off easy instance mobs are pretty decent.

though in wow you dont really need the super leet gear to compete, though it helps (though granted 2 of the same class dueling it out it will matter a lot).

plus the "shitty" lvl 60 gear isnt that insanely much worse than the better stuff. this is changing mroeso with the pvp sets for some ppl, in my opinion, but is overall true. i had good gear though none of it could be classified as insane.

I'm not talking onyxia level but shit that's way up there. In EQ and EQ2 there is an ENORMOUS gap between what normal players could get and hardcore players.

In Wow it's pretty significant but not as extreme.

For example around the time Planes of Power came out in EQ

A normal 60 warrior would have around 7000-8000hp. A hardcore player would have 11,000-13,000. And that was just with the warrior set. We havn't even got into the extremely elite items.

Hell my enchanter had more HP than most warriors.

WoW on the other hand there is still a large gap but that's expected. It's just not THAT insane. WoW basis a lot of it's fighting on skills as a player. That's the comparison I'm making.

If you think it's hard to get leet shit here... go play EQ.

yeah seriously i was an eq player only for the first few years and i felt quite similarly. the ability to do a pickup raid for some decent gear is highly underated.

There's something fun about killing a pally twice, then getting killed, then instantly ss+shadowburn+omgpwnt killing him the third time.

ive been around TWW long enough to know not to post a question like that without sufficiently google'ing the subject or checking blizzard's forums

note: ive tried the things mentioned on the forums before even posting with no concrete resolution to the problem

i was just wondering if anyone else experienced the issue and what they have tried that may not be stated explicitly in the forum.

as far as error 132 goes, basically wow now crashes my machine after playing in game for about 10 - 30 minutes. the machine reboots itself. other than that, my machine is way above the requirements for this game. i run wow with all graphical settings maxed out.

yeah man the technical support forums are FLOODED with 132 posts.

go to forums.worldofwarcraft.com and select technical support forum. There is a sticky thread specifically for this group of errors. 'Blue' responses mean blizzard representatives have posted.

There is a WoW repair executable they will point you to. Good luck.

yup tried that will settings on lowest, and ive also tried switching the video mode from direct3d to opengl

still no luck

i wouldnt mind it crashing once in a while but it always seems to happen when i am in some dungeon soloing against things that are the same level as me. so then when i reload the game and login, i am instantly dead

I got ninja'd for the first time yesterday. Since the item wasn't that great it actually turned out to be kinduv funny because the guy later messaged people in the group and said it was his brother playing and he didn't understand how loot rules worked so we all laughed about that.
