but seriously, that was a good game, great ending, and I feel bad for a few of their players (i don't dislike Paige and a couple others). But i ain't sad that UNC lost, not sad at all.

naw.

i mean, i dont disagree that this UNC team isn't nearly as unlikable as most of their other teams. you're right - paige seems like a good dude. but i don't feel bad that they lost in the title game on a buzzer beater. they got their ACC title, they get/got national attention and accolades all year long. they lost on the biggest stage in a heartbreaking manner - but fuck felling bad for them. they got it made.

you know who i feel bad for? boston college's players. and of course this may be my red tinted glasses and UNC-hate showing through - but i really do feel 100x worse for any BC player/fan/coach this year than any UNC player/fan/coach. when rowan made that shot to beat BC - i was happy we won. but my heart definitely kinda ached for BC. that big white guy - clifford maybe? - yeah i feel real bad for him.

I don't feel bad for them because they suck ass. If thats the case UNC/Duke should feel bad for us for the majority of 30 years but we definitely don't get any symphony nor should we. Also, we had a plethora of buzzer beater heartaches, and guess what? Two years ago Paige was the one that hit that shot at PNC in overtime. I give Paige respect, he's a phenomenal talent, one of the best pure shooters Carolina has had alltime which is saying a lot. He's also incredible in the clutch, and seems like a nice guy. But to be truthful, I didnt feel sorry. If a player gets a career ending injury or an unfortunate accident that ends their career I feel sorry for them. However, you lost on a buzzer beater shot? No, don't feel sorry. Maybe I'm immune to it from all the years of being a State fan.

Amazing we can't keep undrafted players like CJL, Lacey, and Cat but UNC/Duke can keep 1st round talent around for years (Brice, Paige, Allen, etc.)

It's really not that amazing, they think they'll be competing for the national championship.

And for every guy you named on UNC/Duke, you can name another that left early.

(although you do have a point about being undrafted, except I'm not sure why you're already stating that Cat won't be drafted)

Cat will get drafted, but 100% in the 2nd round. The reports were that Cat would come back if he wasn't a 1st round lock, and someone convinced them if he had one-on-one workouts and stuff that he'd crush the other PGs in workouts and work his way to the late 1st round. We'll see.

Can we just skip next year and give Duke the title? That team is going to be nuts, probably better than last year.

Paige was mocked late 1st/high 2nd after his 2nd year. Went down after that, mainly because he was hurt most of the year as a Jr. and then was really up-and-down as a Sr.

^Yeah I noticed he slid up with a few people staying(Allen was 1 that was ahead of him that pulled his name out).

I think Cat could slide as more kids officially announce, but yeah if enough people ahead of him stay then he'll slide up to a 1st. Two weeks ago he was an early 2nd round pick on almost all of the mock sites.

Yes Brice Johnson was pretty mediocre his first three years. He showed signs of being really good, but for whatever reason he just didn't get the ball on offense or was too passive. Major jump for him year over year.

the players just don't want to be in our program. if they weren't good enough for the nba draft, they'd be transferring or going to europe. Anya will be the only 4 year player developed in the entire Gottfried era.

Apparently the overrated as fuck Bobby Lutz (our defensive and big man expert!!! ) is joining Georgia Tech's new staff. My guess is we didn't beg him to stay.

yeah i'm off the Lutz bandwagon as well.

i have seen some of the "Lutz was supposed to be our defensive mastermind" shit on twitter, here, and other boards...where exactly does that come from? i know Moxley and Early was supposed to be known as the recruiters, but I think the stuff about Lutz as our supposed X's and O's wizard was overblown from the start.

i do think he was the one scouting other teams and preparing game plans and whatnot.

but it doesn't matter how good (or bad) an assistant is at coaching defense when the head coach's philosophy sacrifices defense for offense.
